Who are your favorite Villains to ever come from cinema?

My ultimate favorite would easily have to be Biff Tannen, from the Back to the Future trilogy. What an asshole he was, but a hilarious one! I hated his guts when I was younger, but when I watch those films today, the dude cracks me up. My favorite moment from him was how big of a prick he was to his future self in #2. The interaction there was beyond hilarious and makes me laugh every time I watch it.

My second favorite is definitely T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Robert Patrick pulled that character off to such perfection. The way he showed zero emotion for everything he did always astonished me. That blank face of his is one of the scariest, most intense things I’ve ever witnessed in film.

And my third favorite villain would have to be Cobra Kai from the very first Karate Kid. What a group of fucking ********s, huh? The sensei was by far the worse, with the blonde guy (not Johnny, but the other one who Daniel beats to make it to the semi-finals... this guy) coming in second and Johnny in third. Even the fucking background guys were people you wanted to kill. "Get 'em a body bag!!! Yeah!!!!" is something I'll never get out of my head, lol.

Honorable mention goes to Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight. Great performance, but just doesn't have that nostalgic factor to rank him in my top three.

I liked young Hannibal from Hannibal Rising. He's much more sadistic in the book though... He's just great. He's like the serial killer version of Randy Orton. The movie does a helluva good job depicting him though. His Japanese aunt is hawt
Btw did you know the green guy in this emoticon :dark2: is suppose to be Hannibal?

I've got a Top 20 List on my site.

I should add to it though: the dad out of Pan's Labyrinth is cold as hell. The main character ("Ever Green") in Old Boy is the sickest guy ever ever seen in a film. Here he is:

I wont spoil anything for you, but the stuff he does in that film is beyond villainy, beyond perversity, and beyond evil. Truly the most vile character ever ever.

The other one of course is Don Logan (Sir Ben Kinglsey in Sexy Beast), these clips speak for themselves, take a look:

This is kinda surprising since he is from a comedy film but my favorite villian ever was Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore. Yeah he didn't kill people, hold people hostage or take over cities like villians from action/drama movies but that doesn't mean he wasn't a great one. He made you hate him, you couldn't help but root for Happy to kick his ass which is what a villians job is in a movie. He was also entertaining and I dare say made that movie for me. He was just so damn arrogant and cocky just a major wise ass. He probably had some of the best quotes in the movie too. Just an overall great villian and great character.

John Kramer/Jigsaw - Saw Series

He's a sick, twisted individual who comes up with intricate trap designs and plays mind games on the victims as they are in the traps. He has a chilling voice whenever his image comes on the tvs before he says "I want to play a game". Not only is he a sick, twisted man, but he's also smart. Some of the lessons he tries to teach people while they're in the traps are true also e.g life is precious, don't take it for granted etc etc. Tobin Bell, the actor who plays him is also a very good actor as well. He truely made the Saw series what they are and I don't think it would be as popular as it is without the character of Jigsaw and Tobin Bell being the actor behind him.

I liked Kurt Russell in Death Proof. The movie itself was a bit of a let down, but it was refreshing to see him as a badass again. I hear a lot of people complain the the beginning is too slow, but I think it works perfectly. It all builds to him finally going nuts and killing the girls, and the deaths are all pretty sick.

My absolute favorite villain of all time is ... well, my screen name. Darth Sidious/Emperor Palpatine. And I know everyone loves Darth Vader's heel status and wants to protect it in the Greatest Villains of all time list ... but I have to say that I think Palpatine easily overshadows Vader in terms of Villain status.

Some others ...

Agent Smith from the Matrix.

Jigsaw from Saw ... which I saw mentioned, already. I like the spin they put on his character that he isn't a true murderer, yet puts his victims in death traps to give them a chance to determine whether they value their life enough to escape the trap, when put under intense conditions.

How about an oldie, but one forgotten about from years ago ... Judge Doom from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Who wasn't scarred as a child by seeing Judge Doom pick up a toon shoe and drop it into a vat of acid to it's death? The funny thing about cartoons, is that they truly never really died ... up to that point. But they actually did kill them in this film.

Of course, The Joker. Nicholson was extremely over-rated by the way. All his portrayal was ... was himself in makeup. Ledger did a ten times better job with the role.

Pennywise the Clown from It. Tim Curry did one Hell of a job. I don't see anyone pulling off his job in any remake (which I am hearing rumors they are considering doing).

I would have to say that the best villian was Castor Troy played by Nicholas Cage in Face Off. that character was off the wall and just didnt give a f***. what better way to get back at your nemesis then by taking his face and doing his wife after he stole your face to go undercover?

my second choice was Cyrus 'The Virus' Grissom played by John Malkovich. He was a cunning, intelligent murderer, holder of a Juris Doctor, and leader of the inmate uprising, who has spent 25 of his 39 years in the prison system and has been deemed a "true product of the system" doesnt get better than that...

My favorite villain is probably Tony Montana in Scarface. Although he is technically a criminal, you just can't help but rooting for him because he's so damn cool.

Also I agree with Pennywise from It (although I think the movie overall wasn't that great) and Jack Nicholson from The Shining were both great villains too.

well lets see 1 i agree LORD SIDIOUS was better then Vader.

2 i liked Kane in see no evil his character is evil as all hell

3 i don't know this guys real name but the guy Stanly from cabin by the lake was an evil glorified god. killed women with obsession. killed men if they got in his way.

4 Cage in face/off was epic as well. who thought Cage could pull off such a great bad guy image.

Well I have to go with three men.

1. The Joker: Both Nicholson and Ledger did a great job of playing the heelish Joker character who causes trouble and tries to hide from Batman. The Joker is such a complex character but always is remembered because when eople think of Joker, they think of Batman. But then again, without Joker, Batman wouldnot have had a greatest enemy. two-Face does not come close to being Batman's enemy as he doesnt hate Batman enough. Joker has that sick twisted obsession with Batman that makes their relationship interesting.

2. Frank Costello: I am surprised that no one said this. In the Departed, Costello was a force to be reckoned with. In the beginning of the movie, he shot a couple in the back of the head with no remorse. Good God. It doesnt get more evil than that. I know many will say that Matt Damon owned the villany role in that movie but I say Nicholson's Costello was more chilling and calculating.

3. IT: Pennywise or It was a scary ass Clown. That guy could do things that could really kill you. Plus, he was the antidote to children. Only they could see him, how fucking scary is that? But those are my top 3 evil villains at the moment.

This is tough because there are plenty of good movie villians out there. If I had to pick ten.

10. Hannibal Lecter
9. Darth Vader
8. HAL - 9000 (from 2001: A Space Odyessy) Computers are scary to begin with but senient computers are even more scarier. (Senient means the ablity to think on it's own. We are Senient being.)
7. Count Dracula (Bela Lugosi's Count Dracula is the best)
6. Freddy Kruger
5. The Joker ( Not going to agrue who the best joker was cause everyone knows Ceasar Romero Rocked!!)
4. Hans from Die Hard (He made being a bad guy cool)
3. Michael Myers
2. Jigsaw (the best villians the scariest ones are the ones that seem the most realistic
1. The Firefly family (From House of 1000 Corpses and The Devils Rejects) Again the realer the scarier.

alex delarge from a clock work orange. you must see it to understand. the character he plays is just pure evil, sick and demented. He even beats his followers into following him and beats soo much asss.

my second choice was Cyrus 'The Virus' Grissom played by John Malkovich. He was a cunning, intelligent murderer, holder of a Juris Doctor, and leader of the inmate uprising, who has spent 25 of his 39 years in the prison system and has been deemed a "true product of the system" doesnt get better than that...

"Oh nothing makes me sadder than the agent lost his bladder in aaiiirrplane"
Yes!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Denzel in Training Day. Somebody said they were shocked to see Cage play a good villian, what about Denzel? He was an asshole in this Movie.

And speaking of Denzel, honorable mention goes to John Travolta as a villian in their next film together about the train. (Can't remember name)

Although not technically a villain, One of my faves is Trent from Swingers. Like I said, not really a villain ('cuz there isn't one in this film), Trent's just the one you want to hate. He's a total tool to everyone, save Mikey.

Others include:
Sheriff Behan (Tombstone)-Ultimate bad guy, disguised as a lawman vs. the Earps and Doc.

Alex Delarge (A Clockwork Orange)-Evil incarnate

Bishop Germainus and the lord [can't remember his name] (King Arthur)- Two "Men of God" doing everything in their power to opress the natives?
