Favorite Current Diva

Besides it has always been said by the heel wrestlers "I'm a heel, I am supposed to be hated, if I'm not hated, I must not be doing a good job" am I not right?

I used to absolute hate Vickie Guerrero, and I wanted her off of Smackdown and out of my living room forever. I know most people hate her (except apparently Matt Striker...?). But I didn't want her gone because she was a heel. She just annoyed the hell out of me. I think there's a difference between being a heel and being a great villain, and just being plain annoying. Now, with Vickie it definitely worked out. She's getting more heat than anybody else in the WWE right now, and she's really not as annoying as she used to be. Yes, they are getting Michelle over as a heel, and she has a ton of heat which is great, but I think there's a big difference than being a great heel and getting boo'd because you're annoying. Now, if this is the best way to build McCool into a legitimate heel, than go for it. I'll get over it, and eventually LayCool won't be around and Smackdown will be a much less annoying place. But when they make me want to turn off the program, they're not doing their job, their hurting things. But I'm just one fan, so it's not that big a deal to me.

Now, Maryse to me is a good heel. She's not annoying, she's just a bitch. She gets heat, but not as much as McCool. Maybe that's the best way to go about things, but I'll take Maryse over McCool any day of the week.

RAW: I would have to say Gail Kim, although they aren't using her right you get a glimpse of perfection every match she's in, I really hope she begin's going after a title. :)

Smackdown: From what I've seen.. and I haven't watched SmackDown in a while.. Michelle McCool. :)

;)

Melina is my favorite and really she's the Face of the Divas Division now, out or not, Trish still was when she was out.

Mickie had the torched passed from Trish and was the face, but due to her firing Melina is no longer 2nd face, like Lita was to Trish, so I expect a great comeback for her and push.

She deserves it too. She's great in the ring and like Lita, a very unique talent with unique finishers and those splits are sexy. She's not just sexy, but she can go and I think that's best when you have everything. Sex appeal, in-ring ability, she's great on the mic and even vocally outside the ring in someone's corner (The Primal Scream) and she currently has the best entrance of all the Divas and it's my current overall favorite entrance today! (Splits! Woohoo!)

And damn, she's so flexible! That's amazing! I absolutely loved it when she worked with Beth and Beth would bend her up. The matches they had, especially the I Quit werent just hot they were great wrestling bouts

I like to see hot women wrestle who know what they're doing and Melina's the best thing going Diva-wise right now

And on a side note: I like Michelle on a certain level, but Layla is way better as of now having had to carry her with LayCool and she's definately my favorite Smackdown Diva

And another side note: My 2nd favorite Diva overall is Maryse because she's hot, lol and she can speak. She can speak TWO different languages! And does it so well, but I mean when you think about it her gimmick is to appeal to us in that way and be a complete bitch. So she's doing her job. She gets good heat, but Alicia is on her way to being on Maryse' level. I absolutely love Alicia and cant wait to see how the first Black Divas Champions' title reign goes

But again, overall, it's Melina hands down. I also really love that she's just a great personality outside the ring too and takes so much pride in what she does and seems to have so much love in her heart for the business and for others.

Well it is completely understandable that you do not like Laycool, it is after all our own opinions we're dealing with here.

Vickie is a great heel indeed, she's a heat magnet like very few people could ever imagine, but she 's a manager / on-screen character, something I feel might have somewhat of a better time getting over as a heel because they're there to talk, they're there to be great talkers, great at working the crowd, as opposed to someone like Evan Bourne for example who can function as a wrestler, but never as an on-screen character / manager.

LayCool manages to both get over as heels through wrestling, but as well as being managers (Kaval) and Kaval is one of the greater examples of how I think they are absolutely amazing, they have me incredibly entertained throughout the whole NXT storyline between the two of them.

And of course to use the sex symbol argument again, it's not really something that I would use as a hit against them for not liking them, I have always thought highly of McCool to say the least, and Layla has improved in her looks as of late.

Maryse is a great heel, yet she doesn't entertain me in the same manner as Michelle McCool, and it's not a hit against Maryse, because she's a great act both as a manager (for Ted DiBiase right now) and as a wrestler, she's definitely one of the better talents to say the least, just not the favorite.

Gail kim, She's a vision of perfection. The woman is one of the best female wrestlers WWE has, and even though she's jobbing these days, every match she's in shows she deserves to be in the title picture. Her moves are so crisp and clean, she's a real role model. Look back at this divas tag match this past monday(6/28/10), Gail reversed a tilt-a-whirl into a cross-body pin, when I saw that I was like "oh shit", Gail never fails to impress me. She works hard in every match, she wants the crowd to get their money's worth, thats why she does all these dare-devil high flying moves.

WWE needs to open their eyes and give this woman a divas title reign already, she'll definitely make the womens division interesting again

Great thread. My vote goes to Eve. Something I look for in male and female wrestlers is the ability to grow as a performer. It's obviously easier to see this from a young performer, but it's clear that no one is progressing at a faster rate than Eve Torres.

Remember, just a couple of years ago, she was doing interviews and dance contests. Now, she's the top face on Raw (until Melina comes back), and got there by completely outworking Kelly Kelly for the spot. Yes, I believe it came down to those 2 for the push and Eve simply worked harder and did better.

If you watch Eve's matches, she always pulls out a new move. Without fail, she seemingly learns a new move almost every week, if not every month, and involves it in her arsenal. As a former dancer and jiu jitsu fighter, she has great athletic background, and coupled with an immense drive to succeed, she has quickly risen up the Divas ranks. Her ability to mat wrestle as well as high fly makes her unique to the Divas division, and it may be a matter of time before Eve starts hitting the 450 or shooting star press (I'm actually not kidding, I think she could do it).

About the only thing missing from her resume is one great feud. The thing that Smackdown does moreso than Raw, at least recently, is allow their divas to develop a feud on the mic as well as in the ring. If Raw allowed her to do that, we'd see the full spectrum of her abilities. However, for now we have to "settle" for watching a girl with a huge ceiling getting closer and closer to shattering that glass and truly breaking out as an elite women's wrestler. There are few that have her athleticism, and even fewer that combine her beauty with it. I think she has a higher ceiling than almost any diva before her. If she sticks around long enough, we may talk about her as the greatest female wrestler we've ever seen............but probably not because this era's divas seem to be quite overlooked. I'd advise against that though, as you'd be missing out on quite a talent.

no matter how hated she may be, im going with michelle 'Mrs. undertaker' McCool. while she may be annoying as hell when in "Laycool" mode, she can take a beating as well as any of the classics (trish, lita, victoria) and i think she still would have been top contending with them back in the day had she been there. she was the FIRST woman to hold both womens titles. in a dying division that is the Divas (its sad.. if they gave them as much time as they use to, they could have some GREAT matches) she is one of the bright spots

Right now, I would say that my favourite Diva is probably Kelly Kelly.

Now, I know that she may not be the best competitor in the ring but she is definitely improving at a substantial rate. Ever since she debuted, she has been given fan attention because she is so God-damned hot but I think she is now developing the skill set to be able to hold her own in the WWE. I recall seeing her on Raw pick up wins against the likes of Beth Phoenix and thinking to myself that she could really go places in the WWE, if she can continue to maintain the level of progression that she has done. It is definitely a far cry from what she used to be as people just saw her as an air-headed bimbo that was only there to make up the numbers and sell calendars.

She has really come into her own lately and she is actually starting to make some waves in the WWE Women’s division. She is definitely doing more than holding her own on Smackdown of late and I would not be surprised if a title run was in her future. That being said, I don’t think Kelly Kelly is Championship material just yet. I am sure that given her continuing push, she will be if she ever captures the Championship. Until then, she is looking good, literally, and she is doing well in the ring. Definitely my favourite Diva.

I'm going to have to say Natalya. She has everything going for her. She is gorgeous in a unique way, it's not your every day run of the mill beauty, it's different. She is great in the ring, one of the few divas who's matches I actually enjoying watching. And she has the family tradition aspect to her which kind of makes her hotter and certainly gives her more respect as the Anvil was a great competitor in his days in the Hart Foundation.
Also I really like the Glamazon's gimmick and ring style as well as Gail Kim's in ring abilities but I still have to go with Natalya.

I honestly though for a little bit that Maryse would slowly become my favorite. She had everything going for her looks, attitude, a good heel character, and pretty interesting to watch just to see what she'll do. And I really thought that she would improve over time in the ring and on the mic, but that's gone right down the toilet. That was a decent opportunity for the E to garner some interest in Diva's division as a credible division but it just didn't work out for some reason.

I cant choose one, so i chose three =] three times the enjoyment.

Beth Phoenix because shes from Buffalo, Melina because shes got character, and Eve because she looks like a heavyweight Diva so to speak without being chunky so shes appealing, plus she got better at wrestling.

I love that the intentions of this thread was something other than "Oh my god! [Insert Diva's Name Here] is so hawt! I want to [insert lewd act here] her [insert body part of your choosing here]." I guess WWE is to blame for that though, that's kind of how they push them.

Raw: Alicia Fox- Honestly, I think she's extremely overlooked by people. I think she could actually develop into someone the WWE universe loves to hate if she's given time to develop her character. Her move-set is limited, but it's growing rapidly. The moves that she does include in her matches are well executed, so she's not as sloppy as some of the other divas (except for that damn axe kick). She sells moves extremely well and she's got great charisma. If the E insists on keeping their women's division like it is (which I really hope they don't) then she's the certainly has the talent to be their top girl. She's beautiful, entertaining, and can put on a non-laughable match.

Smackdown:Layla El-I don't think she's going to develop into a tolerable in-ring talent, but I like that fact that viewers tend to care about her. When I say they care I mean, they either find her hilarious or extremely annoying. This means they're not bored. She has a dynamic character, however clichéd it may be. She's not a boring, interchangeable, "hot" chick in tights like the 80% of the division.

That's my main problem with the Divas as is. If you're going to base the division off of eye candy couldn't you find some eye candy with charisma and/or personality? I don't think that's too much to ask for chicks that can't wrestle.

I gotta say Michelle McCool--HANDS DOWN!!She has really proved me wrong over this year..he mic skills are superb-shes an awesome wrestler with a creative mind of moveset-and shes Simply Flawless ;)**teheh---anyway i kinda got into her when she was feuding with Jaime Noble and Chuck Palumbo--i loved that storyline-and then the All-American Diva Gimmick was good--but her Heel turn was even better--shes seeing her smash the sh*t outta Maria was good enough for me ;)
I even hope that Michelle can do it again from after hearing what Maria had to say about Michelle in a recent interview not to long ago......

I gotta say Melina.

She's got the star power that can get her the eventual Trish stratus type of send off. They are always trying to recrate Trish and the only onein my opinion that is close to being on her level is Melina.

She came up through tough enough, paid her dues as a manager like Trish, then sprung out on her own to become a very viable and competent wrestler in her own right.

Her beauty is of course a plus, her smile, even when she messes up her entrance, shes a pro and just laughs it off.

She's not kurt angle, but not of the females are in most of the world. I miss her in the ring and can't wait for her return

I would have to go with Natalya. There is just something about her that draws you in. She isn't the most "hot" Diva on the roster and doesn't have the typical build, but she is just fun to watch. It just really seems like she is enjoying herself out there and it shows. Most importantly she is competant in the ring.

My favorite current diva is Jillian Hall. She is a diva who has true technical talent in the ring like many others, who just "jobs" all the time. I absolutely love her gimmick, and whether or not you love, like, or even hate her, You sure know who she is, and honestly she gets GREEEEEEAT heat from the WWE universe when she is on shows. She has some very good arsenal in the ring too. CHeck out her match performing her finisher "High Note" AWESOME!!!!!!!!! I would love to see her thrown back into the Divas title reign department, and eventually get it and hold onto it for more than 5 mins this time. I think it could be a fun twist on the division :) Also a Huge Natalya, Gail, Tamina, and Beth fan!

From an all-round perspective, I'd have to go with either member of LayCool... but if I had to pick one, it'd be Layla. She has come along way in the wrestling business and someone I consider to be one of the best female's to enter the WWE and transform into a credible wrestler (all from nothing). I used to despise her and thought she couldn't accomplish anything, but this recent pairing of her and Michelle have really done wonders. She is consistently in character and never breaks kayfabe, whether that be inside the ring wrestling or outside cutting promo's. Out of the two, she's the more believable character due to her look and accent. You can put Layla into a match and she will do everything you need her to do. She can take bumps and sell well... as well as being able to hit believable offense.

I can state multiple reasons more, but I'll keep long story short. I feel Layla is the best diva there as she is the best, most consistent professional wrestler they've got.
