Favorite Band

Damn it feels good to be a Taylor!!
Wrestlezone music section, Everyone likes music in some way shape or form and everyone has a favorite artist. I wanted to know what some of you guys' favorite bands were, not only that but why they are your favorite. This is not only for the people who like Rock Bands but for any Music Group that performs together.

For me it has to be the Wu-Tang Clan. Why you might ask it's because they rip shit up. Every last one of them whether its a written verse or they're sitting down freestyling for a radio station they get it in. They didn't have to many radio hits but still managed to go platinum on every one of there albums. There best song IMO is C.R.E.A.M. because of the rotation that it was in and also how it was considered an anthem for the streets. My favorite member is Method Man because of his freestyles, they're ridiculous he can go for hours about anything.

Now I want to here yours WrestleZone.

Right now, I would say that Biffy Clyro are my favourite band but that is always likely to change. However, for the last couple of years, since their Puzzle album,. Biffy Clyro have really gone from strength to strength and have found mainstream success more and more as the music they produce gets better.

Their most recent album, Only Revolutions is probably one of the best albums I have ever heard and every song on there is brilliantly good. They have not stuck to the same mould that they have fashioned in older albums but they have stuck to what made them successful. Rather, they have tried to create something new and more adventurously bold with the new album and it has come out wonderfully well. The songs of Bubbles, The Captain, That Golden Rule and Many Of Horror make the album a must buy and I promise you that if you did, you would not be disappointed in what you are listening to.

Whilst Only Revolutions is probably their best album, Puzzle was a really good effort too and it was really the album that brought them into the mainstream audience. Living is a Problem Because Everything Dies is a great track and when it is accompanied by Saturday Superhouse, Who’s Got a Match and Get Fucked Stud, you have all the making of a great album. Biffy Clyro are wonderfully varied and they have not created a song on their past two albums that I have not liked. They are really solid and consistent and well worth a listen.

For me right now it has got to be Rage Against The Machine.

Their songwriting is magnificent, There is no genre to describe them. no song on the self titled album sounds a like. Perfect band. Good friends. great songwriters. You have to be extremely open-minded to listen to this band and truly appreciate them and Thank God I am. Hands down mind blowing. Their lyrics are like nothing I’ve ever heard. They have one of the greatest guitarists of all time and a brilliant singer being Zack De LaRocha. Timmy C is an underated bass player and Brad Wilks is an excellent drummer. During their first run they became one of the most popular and influential political bands in contemporary music.

Their self titled album was a masterpiece and all songs had strong powerful lyrics which works well with the art on the album. The album is always going to be my favourite album and holds one of the most powerful tracks of all time "Killing In The Name Of". Rage Against The Machine are a epic band and will go down in histoy along with other greats like Alice In Chains and Led Zeppelin.

For me, although I love a wide array of genres, there has always been one bad that has always been there throughout as my number one...

Oasis

I have everything this legendary Manchester band has ever released- every album, every single, every dvd and out of their 8 studio albums and huge array of b-sides I think there are maybe 2 I dont particularly like...they just didnt make bad songs- simple as!

Despite getting accusations of being a Beatles rip-off band (yes, I admit, you can see some Fab Four influence in some of their songs) the sheer amount of epic tracks Oasis have made will always make them my favourite band, I cant imagine any other band would produce sooo many songs I love

The ultimate Oasis Top 20

1. Supersonic- my favourite song of ALL TIME
2. Morning Glory
3. Slide Away
4. My Big Mouth
5. The Masterplan
6. Rock N Roll Star
7. Live Forever
8. Wonderwall
9. Champagne Supernova
10. Cast No Shadow
11. The Hindu Times
12. D'ya Know What I Mean?
13. Acquiesce
14. (I Got) The Fever
15. The Shock Of The Lightning
16. Columbia
17. The Fame
18. Don't Look Back In Anger
19. Cigarettes & Alcohol
20. I Hope I Think I Know

For me it is Guns N' Roses my other favourites may change but GNR is alwayr my favourite Appetite For Destruction is for me the perfect album not one bad song on it my 2 favoutire songs are on it too in Mr. Brownstone and Rocket Queen

I'll split this in two, my current favorite and my all time favorite.

My current favorite band has to be Alice in Chains. I got on the band wagon waaaaay late, but I have been very high on them for the past year. It started out with hearing Check My Brain, yeah I know it's new, get the fuck off me, on the radio as often as they play it. I got hooked on the song, and started hearing more of their older stuff when Layne was alive. Their sound has hit me pretty hard, and I love it. They are in my Top 3 favorite bands right now, and we will see if they keep it up over the long haul.

Obviously their older stuff, especially Dirt and Facelift have my favorite material, but their new stuff with William Duvall isn't bad. He is no Layne Staley, but you can't expect him to. He has a good voice and uses it well. The harmonization that Layne and Jerry had was great, and in my mind separated them from Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana. Just great stuff, and their Unplugged album is great as well.

My all-time favorite band is Linkin Park. I heard them for the first time in my music class in 6th grade. My buddy and I were doing a beat type thing for a project, so he had chosen In The End as the song. I didn't realize it for another few years when Meteora came out, but Linkin Park was at the top of my favorite bands list. Meteroa and Hybrid Theory are two of my all-time favorite albums, and In The End is my favorite song from them.

I even like Minutes to Midnight, however it took longer than the previous two. Because it was such a different sound, not particularly nu metal, and more of a U2 sound it took time to grow on me. It is a very solid album though, just not what I was used to from them. I am definitely looking forward to their new album, A Thousand Suns, when it gets released in September.

I may come back again about the Offspring, who would round out the trifecta of my favorite bands. But those two are it for now.

i used to always change my favorite band from day to day, one day it was breaking benjamen, the next, it's three days grace, but for the past 3 years, my favorite band has been Rise Against. they stand way out to me, with their unique sound. Tim McIlrath is a genious, he writes all of his songs, and I can always relate to the lyrics. i hear they're really fun to see live, and i respect bands even more if they can play their songs awesomely in concert. there are lots of bands that i've liked a lot (such as Sum 41, Avenged Sevenfold, Escape the Fate), but none of them ever came close to Rise Against in my mind.

My vote goes to the Canadian classic band RUSH. Granted they are all getting older now and probably aren't as relevant as they once were, but they were a phenomenal band with multiple excellent songs. With a compilation of approximately 20 albums, all of which were excellent, they are definitely my favorite.

My favorite band goes to the Canadian Rock band Nickelback. I like their style of music like the Alternative Rock. I have been around Nickelbacks music since i was born. They formed in 95 and thats the year i was born so i have been listening to them for my whole life i guess you could say. I can listen to them over and over and never get bored of their music.I have the biggest respect for them and their music so for me it is Nickelback.

As for favorite song that goes to Breaking Benjamin with "I Will Not Bow" the first time i heard the song i absolutely loved it. Breaking benjamin is up there on my favorite band list but as it stands Nickelback is my favorite.

For me it's Blink 182, I'm a teenager in growing up in the sub urbs and I can really relate to their songs. Blink is also a key figure in Pop Punk, and there basically like Green Day, a pop punk band that just got insanely popular. Songs like Whats My Age Again? and First Date are really there for me cause its basically the shit I'm going through. Plus I grew up listening to this stuff man.

Seems to be a lack of mainstream music fans on here (other than the terrible choie of Nickelback), what gives? Enough of your old school or underground bands, get with the times. Fall in line with the rest of society and succumb to the peer pressure! Surely 3OH!3 has to be my personal favorite at the moment. They've taught me never to trust a ho, brought me back to the days of my first kiss, and deeply penetrated my soul with their voices.

If we're going back in time, I'd have to lie if I said I wasn't a fan of the Beastie Boyz. In fact, they're probably still together, I wouldn't know. Still feel bad about their mums throwing out their porno mags. Great lyrics, they had.

Tell me you ain't a fan of this, eh?

My vote goes to Slipknot, a band I used to hate in Secondary School. Well I'd only heard one song, Duality but didn't like it. Now I have all four of their albums, their posters on my wall, and the concert ticket when I saw them at the Metro Radio Arena, Clown, when he came into the crowd walked past me, reached my arm out. I even have the Slipknot S tattooed on my right forearm. Snuff is one of my all time favourite songs by them, a great song to feel bad to which is how Clown described it. Purity is haunting, love the Frail Nursery Rhyme intro version. They can do no wrong in my eyes and prior to an interview the drummer, Joey Jordison did at the Rockstar Mayhem Festival, if they all of a sudden said they wouldn't continue due to the tragic loss of their bassist, Paul Gray, I, and sure every other fan would've understood if they chose not to continue but its awesome that they're going to do another album. Aside from the obvious favourites (Duality, Vermillion, Psychosocial, Left Behind etc.) My Plague (New Abuse Mix) The Blister Exists, No Life, 'Til We Die, and The Nameless amongst others are groundbreaking stuff, they have a lot of variety to their songs. I can't get into the material they did with the old singer, Anders Colsefini though, Corey has one of the best voices out there, period.

Even though it's not a 'band' so to speak, Nine Inch Nails is my favourite band. Trent Reznor is one of the best songwriters/musicians ever, his songs have a way of reaching me like no other.

sorry folks im old school and im sure a lot wont even know who im talkin bout but my fave group of all time is Hall & Oates. theyre the best selling duo of all time and have been covered quite a bit by newer bands.

My favorite band would have to be Brand New. They have a way of constantly reinventing themselves and the genres that they fall under. They never make the same song/album twice like so many other bands do.

Their first album, Your Favorite Weapon, was full of great punk/rock/pop songs and was, easily, their most mainstream friendly album. However, the album still had an edge. Songs like The No Seatbelt Song gave the album a sinister feel while songs like Soco Amaretto Lime contrasted it with a feel of innocence and reminiscence.

Their second album, Deja Entendu, was an alt-rock masterpiece. It was full of darkly intricate lyrics and great music. There was a flow to the album that no other album could compete with. From Tautou, the simple and mysterious opener, to Play Crack the Sky, the acoustic, emotional closer, they keep you guessing at what the next song will sound like.

How did they follow the alt-rock masterpiece, you ask? They unleashed another incredible album. While still dwelling in the genre of alt-rock, they decided to redefine it with The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me. Brand New now had a darkness to them that wasn't seen in the previous two albums, but was hinted at in Deja Entendu. It also was edgier, with contrasting sections of near-silence and deafening noise. It seemed Brand New had finally reached their musical peak, but there was more.

After a hiatus that lasted several years, Daisy was released. It took the darkness from TDAGARIM, amplified it, and threw in some screams. They regained the Deja flow and added 300 percent more darkness. They took the contrasting sections and brought it to a new level. And it sounded like nothing that the band had ever done before.

That's why Brand New is my favorite band. With every album, they become a new band. Their evolution is audible. There is truly no band around that's quite like them.

Seems to be a lack of mainstream music fans on here (other than the terrible choie of Nickelback), what gives? [/MEDIA]

Well Actually My favorite band would have to be 3 Days Grace

Ever since they got their first single in 2002 I've been loving these guys. You probably all disagree with my pick. Well I don't really care I have the majority of these 4 guys albums and I have not heard 1 bad song from them.

sorry folks im old school and im sure a lot wont even know who im talkin bout but my fave group of all time is Hall & Oates. theyre the best selling duo of all time and have been covered quite a bit by newer bands.

You got some good taste. =D

My favorite bands are Sade, Black Label Society, Led Zeppelin, Hall & Oates, The BeeGees, Damage Plan, Genesis/Phil Collins, Brooks & Dunn... And the Backstreet Boys. I listen to a lot of everything. haha

Who doesn't love Sade who has listened to her?

Zakk Wylde is prolly the coolest guy on the planet to me.. But I feel he is underrated as a singer.

Led Zeppelin is prolly one of the few bands that people can name all members. Okay, more than three member bands, but still. Jimmy Page is the best guitarist ever. John Bonham is the best drummer ever. Rob Plant's has a very unique approach to singing to say the least. John Paul Jones was like the silent backbone of the group.

Hall & Oates have incredible, catchy music. I can name you ten songs of their's off the top of my head and with most of the lyrics.

The Beegees really are more than their disco rep. I wish I was around in their heyday. I'd be a dancin' fool. haha

I don't know how many Pantera fans we got here, but I really prefer that one New Found Power CD Damage Plan. Pat has much better vocals than Phil's constant screaming.

Speaking of Phils, I think Phil Collins is prolly the best singer I've ever heard. There's just something so passionate and sincere about the guy's voice. He is also a great song writer.

I don't know how many country fans we got here, but Brooks & Dunn are like the best thing about country. They can stereotypical country, the religious country.. And rock out with the best of them:

And then you got the Backstreet Boys.. Hey, I was 11 when they got big.. But now, I think Brian Littrell and AJ McLean are really underrated singers.

If you like more "rock" kinda of songs without the cursing but with just as much passion, I really recommend you listen to this song:

All-time: Pantera. Everything from the riffs that defined 'groove metal' by Dimebag to the intensity of Phil's voice are off the charts. They could give you songs like 'Cemetery Gates' and 'Hollow' and turn it around and give you songs like 'Fucking Hostile'.

Current: Hatebreed. They are very 'in your face' and what surprises most people is that they dont expect songs with such positive messages from a band that heavy.

Also, I agree with one of the posters above, Zakk Wylde is a god among men.

I have three bands that I follow extremely closely. Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, and Thrice. But my favorite without a doubt is Avenged Sevenfold. I can listen to all music, hell as I type this message Foggy Mountain Breakdown is playing, but when I changed my musical style in middle school I picked A7X. From the moment I heard Unholy Confessions I've been hooked.

They have changed as I grew up just like me. Their first album Sounding the Seventh Trumpet was a completely screamo/metalcore album. Which was what I was getting into. Then came Waking the Fallen. Half screaming/ half singing.

Then by the time City of Evil came out, I was starting to get out of the screamo/hardcore scene. This album was perfect for me. No screaming. Heavy drums and riffs. It was perfect.

When their 4th album the self titled Avenged Sevenfold came out I was just gettting started in a band. This album was perfect. Not because my band plays the same music, but the depth of the lyrics were perfect for what we are trying to achieve. Then with the untimely death of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan I was completely heartbroken as I felt for sure that a part of my family had died. Ive had the oppurtunity to meet Rev 4 times before he died. He made me feel loved by the band for being so devoted to them each time i talked to him.

And now with their new album Nightmare, they have came full circle. This album has the Screaming/ has the slow lyrical stuff. The fast and heavy singing songs. Everything Ive ever wanted in a band. Thats why Avenged Sevenfold will always be my favorite band.

Take a wild guess. :p

Yeah, my favourite band is Coheed And Cambria. One of my friends in my music class got me into them about 1 1/2 years ago. I wasn't really interested, but he lent me the Neverender box set, and I watched the first night without really getting hooked. (For anyone that doesn't know, the Neverender Tour is where Coheed And Cambria played all four of their albums from start to finish, and they recorded it and released it in a box set.) Anyway, I decided the next day to watch the second night. As soon as the first couple of guitar notes from In Keeping Secrets hit, I knew this band was actually something special. The crowd chant after the fake ending was what sealed it for me. So then I went and listened to the rest of the night, then the 3rd and 4th nights, loved both of them, then I listened to all of it in order again, and realised I loved the first night as well. Then I went out and got each of their albums, and loved each of them.

I think what I loved the most about Coheed was that they were different from everything else to me at the time, as I didn't listen to much else than what was on the radio, and they opened my ears to many other different things, and let me discover bands like Porcupine Tree, Alter Bridge and Dream Theater. My favourite album by them has got to be Second Stage, which is ironic seeing as how that was the last one I really got into. My favourite song at the moment is God Send Conspirator, but for me every song of theirs is great, and I can't pick one I don't like. If you haven't listened to Coheed, do yourself a favour and go out and buy one of their albums. NOW!

Kiss, Crue, Poison, GNR AC/DC and A7X
Kiss will always be my number one
Crue...I will never see them in concert cause there too intense as far as girls taking tops off and stuff and well I'm married and I'd slap my husband if he ever saw anything like that...
GNR who doesn't love Guns N' Roses
AC/DC TNT done live is just awesome
Poison...I love there love for music
and avenged sevenfold...the only nowadays band I'll listen to

Paniac at the Disco!!!:)
Some of their songs I can relate too. They have a Nice Bass sound in most their songs that makes you wanna sit back and chill.

For me right now its gota be 3 days grace because alot of their music tells a story. Also all of their songs and albums are consistently good and you just dont get that with most bands these days.

Tim McIlrath is a genious, he writes all of his songs, and I can always relate to the lyrics.

Rise Against is CLOSE for me and I agree to this quote 100%. That man is a genious.

But I garuntee that nobody here would have guessed that my favorite band is, Avenged Sevenfold.

Talk about such a talented band, everyone in there contributes a lot to the band, and they're very loyal to their true fans. Which is what I think every band should do.

And their newest album, Nightmare, with the emotion of The Rev passing away, is just incredible to listen to.

Mine would have to be:
Disturbed
Alter Bridge
Pantera
Avenged Sevenfold

Disturbed mostly because they have TALENT.
How many artists can put out an album where every song is amazing? Not so many.

Disturbed covered songs like Shout, and Land of Confusion. I love those two a lot more than the originals.

David Draiman doesnt only scream and shout in his songs, he also has a beautiful voice...check out his song Darkness, one of the most beautiful songs ive heard.

Now ill talk about my other favorite band: Alter Bridge, yeah thats right..The "Creed with a different singer" like most people call them.

They are super under-rated, which is sad because they have lots of talent, the guitarist has so much freedom in his songs...could play any style.

Their song's have so much meaning, and heart in them.
Listen to Blackbird & Broken Wings..two of the most amazing songs ive heard.
