Ballads were huge in the 80s but I'm not gonna pigeon hole anyone into just 1 decade. all 3 ballads off of Slippery When Wet are fantastic (I'd die for you, Without Love & Never say Goodbye.) but gun to my head if I had to choose 1 I would pick

this is by far the best ballad I've ever heard. I'm not a big fan of the slow ballads (although there are ones out there that range between all right - fantastic) but this is fast enough and has an awesome guitar solo near the end that is fantastic.

All in all a great rock song in general and an awesome Ballad.

I like ballads, I'm not a massive fan of them but I like them and i'll listen to them. However the one ballad I absolutely love and play constantly and air guitar to and what else is this one

Guns N Roses-November Rain

The video is epic as well but the overall song is magnificient. The strings (they might be synths though) the drums, guitars and Axl Rose's vocals gel together so well and the lyrics are amazing as well.

I don't listen to a huge amount of ballads, but out of all the one's I've heard, this one steals it. The song is called "Someone like you", performed by Adele. It is live, and by god is it one of the best damn live performances I have ever seen. Bar one or two extremely minor pitching errors, it is absolutely perfect, and the majority of women in the music business today can only dream of having a voice like this. She packs so much emotion into the song, and you are in a trance of amazement watching it. It topped the charts over here, showing that if you can sing and bring out a stunning song, you don't need to be doing all this new age pop with auto tuning and the whole thing. It’s a beautiful and touching song.

I have a bit of a soft spot for some old 80's ballads. I don't know why, but the cheesy shit just worked on broads back when I was in middle school and after using them to get my first bit of trim, I actually got into a few of the songs.

I remember being with this girl in the 9th-10th grade for over a year, waiting patiently to get some. I mean, yeah, I loved the girl but I was 15 years old. I wanted to bust my cherry. She made me wait forever, but this song was the straw that broke the camel's back. Them panties came down so fast it was unreal. Sure, most of you really won't like the song but the fact that it got me my first action makes it a very special song in my eyes.

This is one I dont even have to think about, and not just because Ballad is in the title ;)
The Ballad of Curtis Lowe by Lynyrd Skynyrd is a great song, great ballad and one of my personal favorite songs. It has so much feeling to it and such a great story I think everyone can appriciate it.
