Factions

Pre-Show Stalwart
So, my favorite faction of all time is The Four Horsemen. My favorite version was Flair, Arn, Tully, and Windham. Followed closely by the original with Ole. I feel like the 4 man faction is the best. 3 man factions don't usually have a mid card guy. More than four and not everyone get shine or the faction becomes over exposed.

Other factions that I liked are the top ones The Original NWO, Evolution, and D-X. Now the Bullet Club is making a push to be one of the best ever.

With that said, I think it might be time to build a faction in WWE. With that said, if you were going to build a faction in the image of your favorite faction, who would be in it and why? What the storyline behind them teaming together be?

Mine would be in the image of the 4-Horsemen but with a different attitude. The Horsemen were about being the best but also about the flamboyant lifestyle. Id make a faction still about being the best, but it would focus on every thing we do is about being better than you in the ring. The Gym time, the diet, the way we were trained etc. We put on better matches than you. In the ring, you can't touch us.

Faction Name: Wrestling Inc.

Hand Symbol: Four fingers like the Horsemen. 3 fingers make the W and the 4th is the I for W.I. The symbol of excellence.

Leader: Seth Rollins - He has the attitude to be the smug guy who always believes he's better than you. He has the credibility from being the champ before and can pull off the dirtiest player in the game persona. (Second choice AJ Styles)

Tag Team Enforcer: Cesaro - Arn was always known as a great technical wrestler with a mean streak. He did the dirty work when needed but in the ring he could take you apart or fight you. Cesaro is the same way. He's one of the best in ring performers in WWE. He's great but he'll never be the face of the company.

Tag Team Technical: Sami Zayn - Tully was a great in ring performer. He wasn't the biggest, but he was tough as hell. He had a mean streak too. Some of his matches with Magnum TA and Dusty are some of my all time favorites. I see Sami in the same light. Sami's matches against Kevin Owens in ladder wars had that same feeling that Tully and Magnums cage match had. He put on a classic with Nakumura. Putting Zayn and Cesaro together would be a great tag Team. Cesaro could turn on Sheamus and set up a good feud if Sheamus could find a partner.

The Mid-Card Champ - I feel like a newly signed Kassius Ohno would be a good fit. Kassius has that Windham feel. He's a guy who could look good in losing a feud or feeder match before a contender goes on to face Rollins. However, for this pick, I'm going with Roderick Strong. Since this group is going to talk about being in the gym to be better than you, Roddy would fit the dynamic better. He's not a big guy like Wyndham but he could fight for the US Title or even the cruiserweight title. I think he also has the attitude to be a smug asshole and would be great as a second or third talker.

That's my group. Who's yours?

My Favourite faction is unquestionably DX circa 1998. That reason being is that - WCW had the NWO in 1996 onwards, and in 1997 - WWF had the Hart Foundation faction. When Bret left WWF, they did not really have a faction aside from the Nation of Domination and Los Boricuas in 1997, early 1998. The DX trio of HBK, HHH and Chyna was a presence but they were really HBK and 2 supporting acts going against Stone Cold.

The night after WM14, HHH stood in the ring on Raw and brought X-Pac out to join him and Chyna, and later that night they went and helped the New Age Outlaws. There - you had HHH, X-Pac, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn and Chyna.

Not one of them had been over before - with the small exception of X-Pac getting over 5 years before briefly as the 1-2-3 Kid when he pinned Razor Ramon.

HHH had been the boring Blue Blood snob, and even looked lame when paired up with main eventer HBK over the 8 months before this evenings event, and X-pac had been fading in WWF before going to WCW and doing not much there. Chyna had been impressive as a manager/interference runner, and the less said about The Roadie and Rockabilly the better.

However, the 5 of them stood there that night (thanks to Mick Foley and Terry Funk's wonderful sell job) looking like a great faction. The weeks that went by quickly fade if only because they were SO popular so quickly, they fast became faces. 3 weeks after forming they went to WCW's arena. I saw this go out at the time - and it was like nothing seen before in wrestling. Even upping the stakes on the NWO angle that was fast becoming stale. They all got over by being fresh and new and very entertaining.

If I was to put a faction together now - it would be a Heel Stable, led by John Cena, Deputy of Dolph Ziggler and include 2 new comers from NXT and get them over in the same way. I have NO idea how cos WWE is too mainstream and the scriptwriters aren't in tune with how to get stars over.

I don't know about the idea of Seth Rollins as a leader. Seth's pretty much bland at this point. I know you may say "he was the leader of The Shield." That's absolutely false as well, it was pretty clear Ambrose was the leader of The Shield.

When it comes to this stable...Why rehash the past? That's why we can't get an original stable, because everyone just seems remake classic stable. This stable won't do nothing except for Rollins (who's already established,) and probably Hero. I don't want to see another stable..unless it has a heel Cena, Bálor, Reigns,or Styles as the leader. But even with that, their established. While it would be fun, only way a star would be put over is if it's a Heel Cena-led faction, with a rising star in it and that star eventually turns face and feuds with Cena and goes over. And I don't know about the name "Wrestling Inc," because of the website Wrestling Inc.

So much incorrect stuff there. SMH. You say there were no factions in WWF after Bret left, and then proceed to name like 3 factions. LOL.

X-PAC was over as 1,2,3 Kid and had just had a similar role in the NWO. Chyna wasn't over? Huh? And New Age Outlaws had gotten over in the late 97-early 98. They threw Foley and Funk off the damn stage in a dumpster! They were over.

The Club - AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, and Karl Anderson

I know this faction seems lazy, but it makes the most sense. Enforcers may not be the most detailed characters, but it's better than "wrestlers who call other wrestlers nerds". Also we could see them feuding with American Alpha, the Wyatt Family, or the Usos instead of the constant jobbing out to New Day and Cesaro and Sheamus.

I love all these ideas.

My favorite factions, in this order are: the Four Horsemen, the New World Order, D-Generation X, Evolution, and the Main Event Mafia. These 5 Stables had the greatest collections of SuperStars ever assembled.

If I were to create a faction using a previous theme, I would re-create the Main Event Mafia, only because a Stable consisting of only former World Champions was never done in the WWE Universe (WWE, WCW, ECW, and all the other promotions owned by the WWE). I would like this Stable to be a cross-brand Stable.

Managers - Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H
I know what you're thinking. Why do I have 4 managers?? What better why to display a Stable of former World Champions then to have the leaders of the 4 greatest Stables of all time, showing them the successful way to the top. (Please note, that wasn't a question.) Plus, with having 4 of them, they all don't have to be on WWE TV week in and week out. They could pretty much rotate appearances. All 4 managers could show up together at PPVs or special episodes of Raw and Smackdown. Last, but definitely not least (some might even say last, but definitely most), having the COO of the WWE could only be a good thing.

Now take a look at who could potentially be in the Faction. I'd take at least 4 males and at least 2 females on each show. Having part timers would also help portray the exclusivity of this Super group. Here's the list of Raw and Smackdown SuperStars to choose from. The names marked with a * are my picks.

Raw
Big Show*
Brock Lesnar (w / Paul Heyman)
Chris Jericho*
Finn Bálor (one day Universal Champion counts)
Goldberg
Kevin Owens*
Mark Henry*
R-Truth (the NWA Championship Title Belt counts)
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Sheamus
Alicia Fox*
Charlotte Flair*
Paige (if she ever comes back)
Sasha Banks

Smackdown
AJ Styles
Dean Ambrose
Dolph Ziggler
Jack Swagger
John Cena*
Kane*
The Miz (w/ Maryse)
Randy Orton*
Rhyno
The Undertaker*
Alexa Bliss
Becky Lynch
Mickie James*
Natalya
Nikki Bella*

Imagine all of the twists and turns this could produce with members leaving or other SuperStars joining. Picture these veterans pushing the future of this business to the moon with something as simple as their well established names. I would name this Faction, "World Wrestling Elite", or "WWE". Ummmm, how about "Elite Wrestling World", or "EWW". Maybe just the "Elite". Fine, I'll work on the name.

It's a pretty even toss up between The Four Horsemen and Evolution for me. Both groups represented top factions that would protect their champions at all costs and featured members that were pretty credible inside the ring. The Four Horsemen dominated the mid to late 80s while Evolution dominated Raw for the better part of two years. While I always enjoyed watching the Four Horsemen, I'm giving the slight nod to Evolution (I'm sure I'll get shit for that). Evolution was founded with the idea of getting two younger stars over while being prominently featured on nearly every segment on Raw. It helped. And it worked. That, I believe should be the basis of every faction - getting the younger guys over.

With that, I'd use a group already assembled within the WWE but add a few more members - The Wyatt Family. As lazy as the WWE's booking can be, it's a simple enough idea. Right now we have Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Randy Orton. Assuming Orton and Bray will feud, I'll take Orton out. For a guy that's suppose to be this persuasive cult leader with tons of followers, he sure doesn't ever surround himself with many of them. Bray would certainly benefit from it as would the rest of his faction.

With Erik Rowan due back sometime soon, I'd add him to be the guy that takes all the finishers after the show is over. I can't see Rowan ever becoming anything other than what he's been doing the last couple of years and being Bray's lackey certainly suits him well.

Next I'd add someone from NXT. Someone who can use the rub while performing at high levels like we've seen from Luke Harper so many times in the past. Kassius Ohno will fit here perfectly. Ohno has put on a bit of weight and it makes him stand out tremendously. He supports the height that is required to be in the Family and while he hasn't been in NXT that long yet, he is good enough in the ring/on the mic to skip it.

Last, as much as I'd like to add Braun back to the group, he's flourishing pretty well on his own. Add a muscle to the group and that can literally be anyone that's big and intimidating. Steal Big Damo from Santiny in NXT and call it a day. While a five men group seems a bit much, Wyatt's character definitely calls for it. I'd even be open to the idea of the Wyatts being split between RAW and Smackdown with a couple members asigned to either rosters. Make it really seem like Wyatt is a cult leader and it'll really get him over.

To sum it up - The Wyatt Family
LEADER - Bray Wyatt
TAG TEAM - Luke Harper &Big Damo
MID CARD - Kassius Ohno
BAG CARRIER - Erik Rowan
More than four and not everyone get shine or the faction becomes over exposed.
I agree with you for the most part. NWO is a good example here of a group that was exposed entirely too much and the product suffered because of it. However, a three or four man group with a couple of lakeys to take the big beating for the faction leader is a pretty decent idea. We've seen it with The Authority and Seth's crowd response certainly benefited from it.

I love all these ideas.

Loved Main event Mafia, and have been wanting wwe to do a similar version of it for a while now. It hasnt been done in wwe, so it would be something fresh, and with the right guys in it, it could make history. My WWE M.E.M would look something like,

Kurt Angle- Miz(w/Maryse)
Sting- Jericho
Scott Steiner (w/Petty Williams) -Ziggler (w/Tyler Breeze)
Booker T- Randy Orton
Kevin Nash- TripleH and Stephanie
*Samoa Joe - Robert Roode*

Another faction I would like to see is the much talked about faction with Angle, Benjamin, and American Alpha. I would also add Swagger to the group. With Wwe being worried about Angle's neck, he should lead the faction in a managerial role, and only wrestle on the big 4 ppvs. This group would give AA some character development, make Swagger relevant, and give Benjamin the main event run he deserves.

When they split up Gallows and Anderson from AJ I was hoping they were do something cool and The Club add members and run wild on both shows and then obviously come together at the big PPV's. Perhaps when Balor is healthy or if Kenny Omega is really coming to the WWE they can maybe do that. Something like:

The Club (on RAW) Balor or Omega, Anderson and Gallows
The Club (on SDL) Styles and The Revival

A new Horsemen style group based on being the best in the ring of Charlotte Flair, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode, Cesaro, and Rusev.

And I still think when they started the "divas revolution" they should've had Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, and Bayley actually come in as the 4 Horsewomen. They had that name anyway, why not make a faction out of it since they had "factions" in that anyway?

I love a good faction power struggle storyline if done right. During Attitude Era heyday the DX/Corporation/Ministry was extremely intriguing. For stables with the current roster I have the below:

Shoot Nation:
Kurt Angle - mentor
Jack Swagger
Shelton Benjamin
American Alpha

Modern 4 Horsemen
Bobby Roode
The Revival
Bo Dallas

This is what I would do...

Move Rollins to Smackdown, Uso's to Raw, New Day to Smackdown, Styles to Raw and then do this....

Raw
The Club (Tweener Group) - Styles, Balor, Anderson, & Gallows
The Family (Heel Group) - Reigns, Uso's, and Samoa Joe
Team America - Kurt Angle & American Alpha

Smackdown
Team Chaos - Rollins/Ambrose
Wyatt Family - Bray, B. Dallas, Harper, & Rowan
New Day
4 Horsemen w/Flair - Miz, Orton, Ziggler, & Corbin
