Extreme Entertainment = The final nail in ECWs Coffin

I know there have been many posts about why ecw is so shit and why it will never live up to the old ecw and what not. But i wanna stop for a minute and point out the exact moment that loyal ECW fans dreaded (i havnt seen many posts about it so maybe some of u missed it) The moment when PAUL HEYMAN came to the ring on monday night raw and said "I prefer to call it Extreme Entertainment". Yes they have now moved completely away from the sports aspect of it, So what are ur thoughts on this Am i getting carried away, or was that the final nail in the coffin for lovers of the old ECW.

Extreme entertainment now look any thing that you watch on TV is what ENTERTAINING right you dont watch boring shows. So most everything is for entainment whether it be video games, computer, reading , writing or TV. Its entertainment. Everything has a little of enterainment in it even the old ECW had entertainment so Extreme Entertainment is a corny name and it doesntsound right but it a factual name for the new ECW.

Good observation. The way I see it, WWECW was doomed from the start, just because Vinnie Mac wanted to have so much involvement in the creative process.

As stated before, Vince McMahon is in the sports entertainment business. It's little surprise at all that his influence is stamped all over WWECW, as the matches are filled with the low-risk, low-impact style that typifies the WWE product. I'll admit that I was optimistic after watching the ECW One Night Stand PPVs (esp. the first one), and pleased when I heard about the involvement of Sandman, Sabu, Justin Credible, Amish Roadkill, etc. However, I did expect the worst once I heard about control freak Vinnie Mac's involvement in the creative process at ECW, and the fact that the first episode of WWECW was a complete disaster did not surprise me in the least. It has improved since then, but that's not saying much - it's still rather awful.

The equation is simple: Vincent K. McMahon = Sports Entertainment. That said, ECW is just another brand of WWE, and it's best to think of it as that rather than a continuation of the original ECW. Even looking at it that way, it sucks. Plain and simple, it's just third-tier sports entertainment.

Oh im with u guys all the way, I was just wondering if anyone actually picked up on how significant atleast to me that was. In my eyes it was like the last little piece of the old ecw being tossed out the window. I mean b4 that was said there was hope of getting some old school matches, Story lines Etc Etc. Believe it or not i was actually ok with some of the WWE wrestlers going there, But to have called it Extreme Entertainment ( and yes there was Entertainment in the old ECW but Wrestling always was the number 1 thing it was known for). they need to do us old ECW fans i favour and change the name its an insult to everything that was good in wrestling. ECE Extreme Championship Entertainment lol

What I don't understand is that Styles' shoot on RAW is very different from how ECW is being displayed and potrayed now. If Vince knew that he was going to make a 3rd brand and just call it ECW why work up Styles to do that shoot. I wasn't sure about the return of ECW till that shoot. Now he's telling the man to say stories, after he did a shoot about just that

it's really just a new WWE show where the wrestlers can go off their brand onto this one. The thing that bothers me most is everytime its an "Extreme rules match" they announce it? bullshit everymatch should be EXTREME its called EXTREME championship wrestling

but the thing is, they all aren't extreme rules...Why have WWE (which technically consists of RAW and Smackdown) vs ECW Head to Head, giving the false impression that ECW is seperate from WWE. ECW and Smackdown are usually taped at the same location back to back. Why is RAW the only show that has feuds with ECW (even though they shouldn't be having the interpromotional crap), is it because nobody watches Smackdown. Sabu and Mysterio had a great match on ONS2. Why can't we see a rematch on Sci-fi, or is Mysterio to buzy on Smackdown. By feuding with just RAW, they make it look like a 3rd brand which is a different picture that was painted when ECW was 1st revived (or tried to revive)

the point is unless all the ECW fans stop watching which they wont cuz they wanna see there favorite wrestlers its gonna stay in business. Hasnt vinnie mac seen the sucess of all the 1ns ppv's? thats cuz of heyman

Heyman will be in charge after Steff goes on maternity leave
