Exotic Express: Tag Team.

Quote the Raven, nevermore.
I should start by saying that I like Adam Rose, I really do. The problem is I don't see him going very far with the exotic express gimmick as a singles star.

Which brings me to the topic of this thread. What if Adam Rose brings in a tag team partner to form the 'Exotic Express' tag team? This is where we bring in Justin Gabriel.

Now, the reason I think this works is simple. They both have history together (or at least WWE claims they do.) Back in FCW, they had several matches against each other and during an interview they both referenced having matches with each other back in South Africa (where they're both from). I feel like they would look good as a tag team and would really put on some good matches.

Let me know what you guys think.

Adam Rose has to lose the gimmick, and immediately. It's not over, the fans don't get it, and it's just stupid. A prancing moron is a comedy jobber gimmick, and unless they want Adam Rose coming in and dancing with Khali and giving him lollipops in 6 months, he needs a complete character revamp, immediately.

That said, if he was a serious wrestler again, I would totally get behind a Gabriel/Rose team, especially since they both have the history they have, and are from the same nation.

I wouldn't be against it.

Justin Gabriel is a decent enough talent that doesn't get a lot of usage from WWE other than being occasionally squashed. A lot of people claim he's only good at performing a 450 Splash, which I disagree with as he's capable of putting on some high quality matches when the time warrants it. I was a fan of the International Airstrike teaming with Tyson Kidd, but I think the South African heritage both he and Rose hold in common would be a nice addition into a currently deprived tag division.

I think if that happens, Adam Rose should remain as the Exotic Express fun guy, and Justin Gabriel should be pessimistic initially of Rose's party hard attitude, convincing him to focus more on wrestling as opposed to having parties. Over the course of the tag team's development, you could have both men in a storyarc where Rose tries to get more serious in the ring, but Justin Gabriel also learns to stop taking himself and the team too seriously, learning to have fun at one of Adam Rose's gatherings and as a result, as a person. This creates character development amongst two characters that need it (or will need it, as Adam Rose seems to just be a guy that has his personal party posse with him) and helps build a mid-card storyline between the two guys and any adversaries.

I think Adam Rose would work really well in the tag division as his character can bounce off well with others in forming a friendship with another superstar, as opposed to simply feuding with another superstar. Like many have said, his gimmick has a short shelf life, and it would be rejuvenating for his character to partner with talent that contrasts to him when the time warrants it.

It's a good idea, but leave him as a single star for now, just in case he receives a popularity spike.

I don't think he was ever intended to be a top guy, so your idea about handing lollipops to Khali may just be on the drawing board. He IS a comedy character, that was the point.

Hard core fans may know who Leo Kruger is/was, but the masses don't. All they know is "Adam Rose". 2 weeks into his run you want them to drop it and make him a "serious wrestler again"? When he was a serious wrestler he was just another guy toiling away in developmental.

I think the gimmick sucks, but its low/mid-card filler and it's not going away anytime soon. Let the guy at least have a MATCH before giving him the death sentence.

Well, once we see Adam Rose debut in the ring, I think everybody will have a clear picture as to whether this gimmick can last or not. I think the crowd isn't really reacting to Rose right now because most of them are not familiar with him and tbh his gimmick isn't one that can instantly get over with the current WWE fanbase. If he can impress them in the ring (which he can if you've ever seen him) than people will begin to warm up to his gimmick.

I just have to say this about the gimmick. The "party" thing is fine. Having the partygoers WITH him at all times is fine. But the cast of characters he has with him are dumb.

What kind of "party" is that supposed to be? He's the only "normal" one, and all the "rosebuds" are in bizarre costumes. Who wants to party with a half-naked viking guy, someone dressed up like Waldo, someone in a "fat suit", and zero hot chicks? Where are the hot women? Where are Rose's "bouncers" and wing-men? That's what his "party" should be, actual party-scene types. People who look like they are going to a rave or something. They can all look "weird" without it being flat out absurd.

His gimmick is that life is a party. He's a guy who likes to have fun, and have it all the time. I love the gimmick. I don't think there is anything not to get here.

As for the Tag Team suggestion, I think that guys like Zack Ryder, Enzo Amore, and/or Big Cass would be better than Justin Gabriel. Their characters are already suited for intertwining with Adam Rose's character. Hell, you could even make the Exotic Express a stable with all these guys. Maybe if they get the titles, have them defend it under the Freebird Rule.

.

Did you read what I said right before you? What is with the cast of characters that he "likes to have fun with". How is that a "party" unless its Halloween?

You've clearly never gone to a British university if you only see grown men and women wear costumes on Halloween. I've seen locals and students alike dress up for anything from an event night to a rave to it being a special occasion (Pirate Day), to just because.

Fair enough. I never have gone to a British University.

I guess my "confusion" lies in the fact that Adam Rose is the life of the party, yet he's the only one "at the party" who isn't in some bizarre get-up.

I like Leo Kruger/Adam Rose and all, but let's face it. The whole gimmick is like Raven turning into Exotic Adrian Street right before our eyes. It has its' place, but Kruger/Rose is neither Raven nor Adrian, 2 total badasses who played their characters well. And as he's just now hit the main roster, they don't need to give him an ADR push out of the gate. He still has much to learn with this gimmick, or without.

Let me start by saying that I believed any of the Leo Kruger characters would have worked just fine but this Adam Rose gimmick has potential. I think the appeal is to the broad audience as I've seen on Twitter he's pulling all walks of life; pretty cool. The thought of him in a straight tag team is less appealing than that of the aforementioned Freebird rule group. You could bring up other NXT guys, like Tyler Breeze and CJ Parker. Their gimmicks are easily altered to fit in w/the Exotic Express. I think it would be better to have a big man in the fold but can't think of anyone (if you can don't be shy). This shouldn't even happen within the next three months at the very least. Let AR get built up. The most important thing for him is crowd connection. He can handle himself in the ring but maintaining sing-a-longs and pops is where this gimmick will live and die. Ultimately, I just wanna see him do well one way or another as I've been a fan since his early FCW days.

I saw the topic title and imagined a tag team of Godfather and Val Venis, but then I noticed it wasn't the Erotic Express.

Plus many fans are already familiar with their unofficial team name, Supply and Demand.

We had a topic like this a while ago and determined that an Odd Couple pairing would work for Adam Rose. You read it here first, WWE writers. Now, get out there and recapture the magic of Head Cheese!

I don't think the Exotic Express should be a tag team, but instead a stable. Take all of the underutilized talent, and align them with Rose. Not only Justin Gabriel, but also guys like JTG, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Alex Riley, Tyson Kidd, Yoshi Tatsu, and maybe throw in Darren Young once he returns from injury. Have them take part in the party entrances and team up with Rose for assorted tag matches and six man tags

per haps you might red up a little on the New York club kids of the late 80's up to the mid 90's. there is countless videos of them even on talk shows. thats what i immediatly thught of when i saw adams posse. he had a wide cast of colorful characters in his entourage same as Micheal Alig did in the club scene back then. I personally so far like it. I t is something currently fresh and so far fun. Look at fandaaaagooooo. He is sill semi relevant with a odd gimmick. As for a tag team? id say Ryder or Garbriel also. perhaps he can save this impending job squad version 2 that is brewing

Why is every wrestler that debuts on they main roster instantly graded for main event appeal? I really am not fond of the gimmick but I am open to it growing on me. I do think him a Swagger could make an interesting team with Zeb in the mix. Odd like Booker T and Goldust odd.
