Everybody is sick and tired of the authority angle - What should WWE do next?

It has been really hard to watch as it continues.... same thing every show.... Authority does things you don't like, sets faces up to fail, injures someone, etc. etc. etc.

It's totally predictable and boring to be honest.

As for Kane, he can't wrestle anymore. He's old, worn down, slow and boring. He can't sell a move (positive or negative for him) in any way... It's unbelievably hard to watch and needs to end.

Forget it. When was the last time WWE didn't have Authority/GM/Vince/BoardofDirectors/GuestHost angle on their show for more than 2 months? 1997? I think their writers simply can't book it any other way.
There is another storyline that need to end ASAP but won't - Bellas feud, i can't understand how McMahons can stand this crappy "quality" on their show.

I don't think that The Authority angle will end that soon because I heard somewhere that Stephanie's dream was always to create something like The Authority, and now that she got what she was always dreaming of, she won't let it go that easy.

LAst episode of Raw I was asking my self... is this last weeks show? The entire show looked the same as the one before it.

LOL. Agree with that. Every RAW looks like last RAW.

Now we see Triple H smirking 30 minutes - on every fucking RAW.

There is no bigger politican ego then Triple H.

Same matches, same shit over and over again. I just don't get it.

Back in the day they hyped matches and the biggest names never had matches against eachother so often.

Agreed with Darkshadow... I guess I can deal with "The Authority" angle but please... please take Kane off TV. I don't think I can watch him saunter down the ramp in his dress slacks or see him decide he wants to wear a mask and be a "silent demon" for a few weeks. Him being in every main event kills it for me, I literally fall asleep or change the channel during the main event and watch for the mid card. Is he a face? Is he a heel (he doesn't get booed, he gets a nostalgia pop)? Talk about insulting the fans intelligence. I get that he is a loyal company man, but the confusion of him going to Corporate Kane, to Demon Kane, to Corporate Kane and the amount of TV time he gets is insane. I got a warning the last the last time I voiced this opinion.

The only main events that have been interesting me in the past year have been Bray Wyatt but they really dropped the ball with him and hopefully his reintroduction will salvage him.

I totally agree - the present authority storyline has been going on since before SummerSlam 2013. It is not good at all. The authority needs to be disbanded. WWE could introduce a president of the WWE; ala Jack Tunney in the early 1990s. They could exist to promote limited events. But the WWE should announce matches like they used to;built not around an authority member ordering a match; but by announcing a tournament, or something prestigous! A guest host can pop in occassionally to promote a movie but also deliver the announcements but not enforce them.

It can be mixed up a lot better; but the HHH storyline is not good. Partly because fans dont wanna see him as a heel at this stage of his career. Also; it is the same story as the McMahon-Helmsley era. And let's face it - nobody will be an onscreen authority figure as good as Vince McMahon.

No wounder why all people are so sick and tired of the Authority angle.

Threads that open with absolute pronouncements like this usually inspire a lot of negativity, particularly since no one can say for sure what "all people" think.

However, recent history in pro wrestling suggests that fans like the idea of a group of people at the top of a wrestling organization controlling the actions of those beneath them. Apparently, while most of us didn't like bullies in our everyday lives, many of us like the concept in sports entertainment.

The success of the "Mr. McMahon" character during the Attitude Era helped WWE come back from the brink of bankruptcy in it's battle with WCW. Since then, it's been a successful, time-tested way of running a pro wrestling company. Even TNA, when it was spending money like drawing water from a faucet, took an inordinate amount of time promoting Hogan & Bischoff, the guys at the top who were raining down their policies and whims on everyone else. Yes, the company took it way too far......yet, this is the way things are done today.

Now, there can be honest disagreement about whether we care for the current program in which The Authority is involved......and yes, the subject of whether a specific angle has been milked too long is fair game.....but the notion of a powerful segment of people at the top of an company, tossing down policies and procedures at the drop of a hat....is a successful, proven commodity.

Also, when a poster on this forum is telling us what all people think, they're including me.....and I prefer to state my own preferences, thank you.

I personally would love to see a Wyatt takeover. Bray returns, perhaps corrupting a few midcarders and expanding his family, maybe even stealing a member of the Authority. Suddenly the Authority realizes they have another problem and fight back, but ultimately lose. Bray would be like the modern NWO, attacking heels and faces alike.

Eventually, the authority dissipates and Bray is conquered by someone else after a (hopeful) world title reign. Then things can return to normal.

I agree that the Authority has become stale. Even Mr McMahon was sure to change out the Corporation often enough to keep from becoming boring. Plus, he also knew when to be the focus and when another wrestler should take over. Early on this year, Randy Orton was the focus. But now it seems to lack direction. Is Seth Rollins the focus? Why is Triple H getting more mic time though and why isn't he getting on in the action as much? Granted, Reigns being out probably derailed a lot of the storylines, but I feel the authority needs to die.

The Authority hasn't bothered me yet, but I can't see it lasting much longer. Kane needs to go, corporate Kane, Demon Kane, Director of operations Kane, they all need to go. I never thought Kane would be the boring version Mick Foley for the 21st century.
And Randy Orton needs to turn face. So that leaves HHH, Stephanie and Seth. That doesn't work as well. They need to add another heel or two to the authority if it is going to continue or at least have hunter in the ring more which I don't see happening.

I would actually love it if BNB came back for a short run in the Authority and replaces Orton after his face turn. Would be a great way of elevating him as his gimmick seems to suit being an Authority figure perfectly(Imagine BNB doing duty as RAW/SD GM...).

Totally agree about Kane, but he's not going anywhere anytime soon. I just wish he would stay out of the ring as an active wrestler. I give the guy prope that he's still going and he's fine as an Authority goofball, but he just needs to resist the urge to get inside the ring except for the occasional promo on behalf of HHH and Stephanie.

If he could just do that, I have no problem with him sticking around.

There's one way to go to end and no not taking hhh off TV as it won't happen as he is running things now but yes Steph can disappear she annoys the shit out of me

Easy way to go after HITC and after orton beats cena to become number 1 contender start the break up with Seth getting on ortons bk about how he made him number 1 contender and orton snaps turns on him while the four r in the ring hhh orders Kane to stop orton but after Kane takes out orton he turns and takes out Seth aswell then stares down hhh then walks away after a few weeks. Of hhh making orton go up against anyone he possibly can the next ppv orton vs Seth towards the end Kane comes out in his Kane outfit takes them both out again leading to a triple threat match between the 3 at the raw b4 the rumble

I think the smarks have become the marks. The IWC can no longer tell the difference between disliking someone that generates heat and not. Wrestlers like it most when the crowd takes everything way too seriously and gets all worked up and they can make them do whatever they want. Between this, the "is Vince trolling us", and the hilarity that people didn't think the whole Bryan arc was a work and that somehow they shoved him into the main event at Mania just to please them proves it.

You listen to the crowd and what's over. You do what you can to make that reaction worse. Authority is over.

Kane is unusual because even at his age, he can move reasonably well. He has done some entertaining matches, even if he's merely the prop to showcase the skills of the more talented members of the roster. My issue is that it doesn't make sense for him to be wrestling anymore.

His character arc seemed to suggest that he was retiring in the ring, but he seems to compete on a weakly basis. It would make sense if this was leading to a face turn, as Kane himself complained about the Authority making him compete, but then other times he puts himself in a match that he has no shot of winning. I'm cool with Corporate Kane being an authority figure, perhaps working primarily as the voice of the Authority on Smackdown (since Triple H and Steph rarely appear there), but he loses too much to be taken seriously as a credible threat.

I will say one thing though, I did like how he was recently treated as the 'general' in his handicap match. Unlike Rollins and Orton, the character of Kane doesn't seem to be as egocentric and it made sense. I also noticed that unlike most heels, Kane doesn't run away as much and faces the problem head on. I do like those kinds of differences, as it makes Kane at least stand out...Now why he's got to wrestle in business pants is another issue entirely....
