Evan Bourne's title push in disguise?

GI Cake

Thank God For Sodamy.
Just recently after the squash match that was the Bourne vs Sheamus match I just saw that this could be a great build up to feud between Bourne and Sheamus after Wrestlemania. This gives time for the feud to grow and by time for Extreme Rules, both superstars would have had enough matches between them to decide it's Bourne's time for the U.S title...

Thoughts?

Bourne deserves a push and a title. He was in line for a push when he got injured. Its only a matter of time, but how can he beat Sheamus and make it believeable?

I agree as well. Its time for his push. I also agree with the ppv being extreme rules or maybe even a ladder match. Something like that I feel give Evan the edge over Sheamus. That would make it a believable and credible win. In just a regular match Shemus all the way.

I don't see it.

Evan Bourne is the best in the WWE at doing exactly what he did tonight, which is to make somebody else look good. Bourne is one of the best sellers in WWE, and he can make a squash match exciting by missing a shooting star splash.

In no way is this a knock on Evan Bourne. Notice that I'm not calling him a jobber. I think he's the best enhancement talent WWE has.

I agree he needs a push, but not a title one. The man has unfortunately despite a few moments been nothing but a jobber in 2 minute squash matches, and the matches that are of some actual quality he winds up losing anyway. Like Ted, Ryder and the Usos, wait til after Mania then give them something to do, a program, a mini fued, a heel/face turn, but for Bourne I think a title is too ahead of him.

I don't see that happening if he was going to get a push for a title. He wouldn't have lost in a squash match to the champion before he goes after the title. It makes very unrealistic to believe he can beat Sheamus now at least not with Triple H beating his ass before the match. Plus I think there's a good chance Bryan will get the belt back at Wrestlemania. Maybe he'll get a shot at Bryan. I'd like to see him get a push and not just be used as a enhancement talent. I just don't think it will be any time soon.

The thing about Evan Bourne is that it seems like NOBODY gives a shit about him except for people online. So I would say no.

I don't understand why so many people here think he should have a title. Tag team titles I can see that, but why does everyone think this dude is so great?
If they were to have Bryan win the title back, ok Bourne and Bryan would be alright with me, but if they had Sheamus drop the title to Evan Bourne I would never be able to take him seriously as a competitor again.

You're really just pulling stuff outta your ass arent you? Yes he might be in the midcard, but besides a cool finisher and entrance music this guy really has nothing going for him atm. He's been injured how many times since he came into the E' and he has a squash match and now he's in the title picture? How about this, give the dude some mic time, and a few matches over people. Then come back and talk to me about him getting a title push, because atm he is just standing still.

I remember thinking the same thing with Kaval after he started losing all his matches on Smackdown. I really thought it would culminate with him winning his first title in WWE and that it was a part of his push. In the end, he was future endeavored. Learned a lot since then. Anyway, I'd love to see Bourne get a mid card title shot but I don't see how getting squashed by Sheamus equals him getting a title shot. The only purpose I saw to his match with Sheamus was to make Sheamus look dominant again after finally coming off a long losing streak. Nothing more, nothing less.

Evan Bourne is completely under-rated, that is what I think.

However, I don't think it is wise for him to get involved in a feud with Sheamus because there is no way that he is going to come out on top whilst looking believable. I know that he has managed to beat Sheamus in the past but there is a difference here, Bourne is only just back from injury and the first time we have seen him in the ring for a couple of weeks, he is getting physically abused by Sheamus. I mean, if they wanted to build this up to a feud between he and Sheamus, then they are certainly going the wrong way about it. What I think is more likely is that they are probably building to having a feud between Sheamus and John Morrison (or someone of that ilk).

I like Evan Bourne and think that he is deserving of being in a title feud but the WWE seems to have no confidence in him whatsoever. Putting him in a feud with Sheamus would only make both guys looks really good, especially if Bourne can manage to pull out a few surprise victories. However, when you look at the way he was treated on Raw and how easily Sheamus went over him, you really cannot say that he is getting any sort of push. He was just enhancement talent that made Sheamus look good heading into WrestleMania and that's all.

I only see this is as a regular squash for Sheamus after his losing run now he gets his belts back it was due for Bourne revenged served to him. Too many guys inline for pushes than Bourne unless Cena puts in a good word again i can't see him getting a title shot push. He's a great seller though.
