Reading FTS's most recent thread, he brought up essays in Standardized Testing, and it totally reminded me of what I wrote my essay about in the Exit Exam. And looking back, I cannot believe how stupid I was. This has got to be the first time I thought about this since I took the test in the 10th Grade.
Honest to God, this is no joke, but I remember the question was if you could name a street in your city after someone, who would it be and why? And you know what my answer was? You ready for this....
I kid you the fuck not. The football player. Why in the hell did I choose him? I guess because he was my favorite sports figure at the time, and because, well... at the time, I knew (cared) more about his accomplishments than anyone else.
And yes, for the record, I did pass with flying colors. I don't know if that had anything to do with it though. What I would give to read the actual essay itself again.
Anyway, to make this an actual topic, I ask the question... do you remember writing any odd essays while you were in high school or middle school, that when looking back now you can't believe you did it? If so, share them.
