Emma injured at live event in Liverpool.

Navi

With the safety off!!
It's all over the dirt sheets. Earlier today Emma was working a tag match with partner Mickie James against Sasha Banks and Bayley at a live event in Liverpool. During the match she apparently suffered a bad landing in the corner and has injured her shoulder. The ref threw up the X sign, stopped the match and she was helped to the back.

No official word from the WWE yet on the extent of what kind of injury it was and how severe it is, if at all. Hopefully it isn't anything serious and she can get back in form in a relatively short amount of time.

Last year she was injured and cleared to wrestle around Summerslam. They spent a good part of the year trying to change her image to Emmalina before that was dropped. She just actually starting wrestling again on TV not that long ago.

So hope it isn't too bad and she has a full recovery. Can't help but think how this might affect her going forward as Vince likes to halt people he thinks are injury prone.

Welp, there goes my little hope of seeing Emma become the champion. Even if it's not that serious which I hope it isn't, Vince won't even try to push her due to her history with injuries.

The "Emmalina" stuff wasted so much time and opportunities for her. So much hype and then abruptly ending.

I wish healthy and fast recovery for her.

Ah, the poor gal just can't seem to catch a break as she's had it pretty rough ever since she signed with WWE. First, she had that lousy dancing gimmick that worked well in NXT but was a major flop on the main roster, you knew it was truly doomed when she was paired with Santino Marella. She wound up being sent back down to NXT, I think she might have been the first to graduate to the main roster only to be sent back to developmental, developed a much better character, made it back to the main roster, was starting to gain a little momentum, then she's injured, then comes the whole Emmalina debacle, now she's back to her 2nd persona and now she's possibly injured.

Emma is one of the more skilled in-ring workers among the women in WWE, she's gorgeous but she's just been hamstrung by either a complete lack of direction on the main roster or injury. Between her time in developmental and the main roster, Emma has been with WWE for fairly close to 5 years now and you have to think that she herself has to think that she'd be much further along by now. If she is injured and is saddled with the dreaded "injury prone" label, then I don't see her rising through the ranks of either the Raw or SmackDown Women's Divisions though, truth be told, it might be too late for her already. After all, we've seen the rises of Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Naomi and Alexa Bliss on the main roster while Asuka is ready to be brought up at any given time with Ember Moon, Ruby Riot, Nikki Cross, Peyton Royce and Billie Kay holding down the division in NXT.

I really, really hope that this isn't too serious, because I really like Emma. She's got the talent for sure, and it would be a shame to halt any progress because of the future risk of injury. As far as I see it, whether or not she is or any wrestler is "injury prone", the reality is that accidents do happen, and while I understand from a business perspective that you cannot risk investing too much stock into someone likely to get injured again, it would be a waste not to take the risk if the star is still going.

But as the above post says, Emma may never reach the heights some hope for her anyway. Whatever way you look at it, when there is only one title on each brand and multiple contenders already, Emma has really nowhere to go. The stars already on the main roster and those waiting their turn in NXT are already ahead of her.

To me though, the fact she was cleared in August and didn't have a match until, when, the night AFTER WrestleMania(?), is just crazy. Especially when the Raw women's roster was so damn thin in late 2016 and early 2017. Emmalina was a massive waste of time and the fact nobody knew this until she debuted after 17 weeks says it all. Nobody knows what to do with her anyway. I just hope she gets healthy again soon and gets back to business because I do enjoy her. Just some wasted potential that could be made worse because of this injury now.

It's done. As I said a YEAR ago, WWE would be doing Emma a favor by letting her go. She has been snakebit ever since that incident in Wal-Mart. Stamford will never give her the time of day at this point. I can see her being the lynchpin of RoH's Women of Honor (Sinclair about to take over Tribune Broadcasting makes this huge). I can also see Emma getting the torch passed to her by Gail Kim at Impact. With what is coming down the pipe from NXT, and what is already on the Main Roster, Emma is little more than a female Mike Sharpe or Pete Doherty at this point in WWE. She has skills and the talent, and deserves so much more than she is getting, and will ever get, from Stamford.

Yes she has had a really run of bad luck hasn't she. Shame because she has lot going for her. I don't see her lasting much longer if she can't stay healthy.

Unfortunately I see a release from WWE in her immediate future. Too injury prone, which is disappointing to say about a fellow Aussie. But yeah, she's not going to get a sustained push when she continually breaks down

I agree that she has had bad luck. But what's most frustrating is the time wasted in hyping up "Emmalina". This hype started around October and just kept going on and on until being dropped. On the other hand, Sasha Banks and Charlotte were indulged in a long rivalry. Instead of the stupid "Emmalina" stuff, she could've added some much needed depth to Raw's Women Division. It's not as if she's a bad wrestler or something.

Goodness poor Emma just can't catch a break.

She debuts with freaking Santino, gets injured, has those horrible Emmalina promos, and then gets injured again. She also had that shoplifting incident.

I don't say this often, but she should leave WWE. Maybe it wasn't meant to be, but after setback after setback, she needs to go somewhere else.

I wish her the best of luck with whatever she does, but it isn't looking too good at the moment (at least not in WWE).
