Coming off major electoral victories in the past 14 months, Democrats seek to now regain control of the White House for the first time since Bill Clinton. Two highest candidates aspire to be the first woman and the first black president, respectively.

Hillary Clinton. US Senator from New York and wife of former President Bill Clinton. Supporters include Danny DeVito, Tom Hanks, Tobey McGuire, and Paul Newman. Supports abortion rights. Supported Bush-backed immigration reform. Voted to send troops to Iraq but now says she would have voted differently if "we'd known then what we know now." Supports bill phasing the US out of Iraq. Opposes same-sex marriage but supports civil unions. Opposes Bush Social Security plan. Opposed all Bush tax cuts. Currently supported by 40% of Democratic primary voters.

Barack Obama. US Senator in Illinois. Harvard grad. Supporters include Jodie Foster, Jamie Foxx, and Will Smith. Supports Abortion rights. Supports Bush's immigration reform plan. Opposed use of troops in Iraq and has remained steadfast in that position. Opposes same-sex marriage but supports civil unions. Opposes Bush-backed Social Security reform. Opposed extension of Bush tax cuts and supports ending the marriage tax credit. Currently supported by 30% of Democratic primary voters.

John Edwards. Lawyer and 2004 Vice Presidential candidate with John Kerry. Supported by Mario Batali, Seth Green, and Ben Stiller. Supports abortion rights. Feels a better relationship with Mexico will help curb illegal immigration. Voted for military force in Iraq but now says that was a mistake. Opposed Bush's plan to send more troops and called for a timetable for withdrawl. Opposes same-sex marriage and also opposes a federal constitutional ban. Opposes Bush's Social Security plan. Opposed 2001 and 2003 Bush tax cuts and supports ending cuts for oil companies and America's wealthiest citizens. Currently supported by 14% of Democratic primary voters.

Bill Richardson. Lawyer and Governor of New Mexico. Supported by Christy Brinkley, Michael Douglas, Val Kilmer, and Bette Midler. Supports abortion rights. Supports immigration reform and additional border patrol but opposes 700-mile fence and ability for state troopers to detain illegal immigrants. Supports withdrawing all troops from Iraq and redeploying to Afghanistan and other terrorist support nations. Opposes same-sex marriage, and voted for "Defense of Marriage Act" in congress. Supports legal benefits for same sex partners. Opposes Bush plans for Social Security reform and opposed Bush tax cuts because they were not offset by other revenue generating activities. Currently supported by 4% of Democratic primary voters.

Joe Biden. US Senator from Delaware. Supported by small corporate CEO's. Supports abortion rights. Voted for military force in Iraq and also for war bill to set timetabe for troop withdrawl. Opposes constitutional ammendment banning same sex marriage. Supports using private accounts to supplement Social Security. Opposed all Bush tax cuts and wants to roll back tax cuts for people making more than $1 million. Currently supported by 4% of Democratic primary voters.

If you were to vote in the Democratic primary, who would get your vote and why? Who should the American people avoid and why? What are your thoughts on the candidates?

I have to admit I was shcoked to see Clinton pull out New Hampshire at the last minute. I expected to see Obama sweep. Also, when Clinton nearly cried in one NH interview, I thought she was throwing in the towel. I don't want the US President to cry.

I feel sorry for Edwards, too. He's been running an awesome campaign, focusing on his target market of middle class citizens and being anti-corporations and special interests. He's a true "democrat." I was also shocked that John Kerry came out, like a douche, and wouldn't support his former running mate. Kerry actually went to South Carolina - Edwards' home state, to endorse Barack Obama. A cold slap in Edwards face.

Has anyone told Kerry that HE, not Edwards, is the reason for the 2004 loss? If Iwas Obama, I'd call Kerry and say "thanks, but no thanks."

How about Obama?

I've been a strong Obama supporter from the beginning. I never suspected him to win, but I've been supporting. In Texas, I don't see many Obama supporters around here. I preach to my friends, I stand tall, and I am proud of my candidate.

Seriously. holy crap.

2 weeks ago, he was 10-13% points behind based on the poll, and projected to win a whole 2 states on Super Tuesday.

He won Super Tuesday! Higher popular vote, Won more states, won more delegates! Yes we can!

I am so excited for this. The next 9 primaries are all in Obama's favor. It might be a month before Hilary wins another state. I don't want to say it and jinx it, but it looks like Obama might win this. Things are really shifting in his favor.

If you haven't heard him yet, listen to one of his speeches. They are so moving and uplifting, and they are convincing. People across the nation are rallying behind him.

I am an Obama supporter. I voted for him in the NJ Primary and I hope he takes it. I've said that if Obama wins the promary, I'd vote him for president, but if it's Hillary vs McCain, I vote McCain. Nothing against Hillary, but I have more confidence in McCain than Hill.

Obama is doing a great job rallying young voters because he appeals to the idealists and the change agents such as myself. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.

I like Obama, too. I like the fact that he knows both the black and white side of things, and that he's a young dude who I think will make changes.

He also genuinely seems like a nice guy.

GO OBAMA! FUCK THE REPUBLICANS!

I mean the republicans IN OFFICE! The republicans on this board are cool with me. :D

Actually, I was a republican at one time, and then I stopped snorting bleach.

^ Why? Democrats are just as bad as Republicans are. Both lie, both embezzle, both send us to war, both raise taxes, and both cause us hell.

Hillary Clinton would fuck this country up worse then Bush has with all of her insane ideas, including health care with no way whatsoever to pay for it.

Out of all Democrats, I'd go for Obama. Small track record, but a good one so far. More experience then Bush had though. Kucinich is great as well, but never stands a chance in hell.

I'm voting for Ron Paul (R) in my states primary. Look him up if you want that real change that all the Democrats promise you (but never deliver on) and all the Republicans try their hardest to prevent.

I'm a huge supporter of Obama, and have been since the beginning. I wish I could vote so badly, but unfortunately I can't for three more years, so I'll have to wait this one and hope that people are smart enough to vote for the right guy- Barack Obama. I was dissapointed when I found out that Hillary won the NY, NJ, and California primaries instead of him. Even if he doesn't have as many delegates as Hillary, the count is extremely close, and he did end up winning more state primaries and cacuses than she did. I can only see the best for Obama in future primaries (especially the upcoming one in Hawaii).

I really can't pick any of those because I really don't like any of them.

Mike Gravel is ok but I don't think he is as hardcore as Ron Paul is (Yes, I'm a Paultard and I'm proud of it)

Hillary is a socialist so is like every other democrat on that list basically.

I really can't pick anyone on that list but if I had to I'd go with Gravel :)

as a registered democrat, i am a full supporter of Obama. He seems to green, but it seems like he knows what he is doing. If he has a strong showing who knows what can happens, i hope it is real close when they come to PA, because people that i have talked to will not support Hilary. I was listening to an interview early Sunday morning, and it was with Obama'a wife and she said " dont vote for Obama because he is black, vote for him because he is the right candidate, and he will make a difference." That was a great choice of words imo because it actually makes a lot of sense. Obama seesm to have the support of young viewers which is always a good sign, i hope he has a strong candidate because i believe he could make a difference..

O yeah IC you can add Hogan to the Obama supporters :lmao:

Mike Gravel is more of a socialist then any other candidate out there. You realize the man has said publicly that he would create a carbon tax? As in, every American will be taxed for BREATHING AIR. That's ridiculious, and not only stupid but borderline-fascist.

Ron Paul all the way baby!

Poor Dennis Kucinich he has the best ideas yet he doesn't have a chance.

But if he's not gonna win ill settle with Obama winning.I really hope that if he does become the president Obama will live up to all his "hype".
