Edge is Smackdown's newest superstar!

As we all saw tonight, the GM got fed up with Edge's crusade and traded him to Smackdown! Edge seemed more than happy to go, and honestly, I'm happy he's going, too! This new face turn was exactly what Edge needed to freshen up his character. His whole "Ultimate Opportunist" gimmick was so stale, but this Crusade Against Stupidity has been just hilarious!

I think that the promos with Swagger were a taste of what is to come in the future. Edge will feud with Swagger, pulling off some good matches and hopefully funny promos, and then eventually I believe Edge will move on to feud with Alberto Del Rio, based on their promo last night where Edge called Del Rio stupid.

What do you see in Edge's future as Smackdown's newest face?

Edge and I have had a tumultuous relationship over the past 13-14 years. He's lost and regained my admiration and love several times in the past, but he's always the been the one guy to challenge authority since he split with Christian. I think he does great on both shows, but I'm really gonna miss his interaction with Zack Ryder, those segments were magic.

I really think that this move can revitalize his Career and make him much more entertaining and Agree with Doc that he will probably go on to feud with Swagger which could be a really go feud with some good matches and good promos. This move is what's best for EDGE

I think Edge WILL be a contender for the World Heavyweight Championship after Survivor Series. Probably he'll face Alberto Del Rio or Jack Swagger for it, but I really think he can be in the WM27 picture. I hope so at least...

I hope I posted this in the right spot if not im sorry. As we know Edge was traded to smackdown and also has a problem with annoymus gm. Do you guys think a face Edge could be the leader of Team Smackdown against Team Raw and the Miz as the leader there?

The Mic work between Edge and Miz would be great in my opinion and would help the match greatly. Edge could also win and say something along the lines of being better then an unknown Gm and the Miz.

Oh how I love me some Edge. The more I think about it and the mark inside me bubbles the more I realize Edge may very well be my favorite modern day superstar. SD at one point was Edge's show. He was the guy there and everyone associated SD with Edge and vice versa. Edge was a star at one point on Raw, but once he moved to SD he became THE STAR. He comes back to Raw and again he wasn't the star on SD. This move could very well propel Edge back to the top to the WWE. Plus right now is the most entertaining Edge has been since his returns. SD has needed that top face for awhile and they may have gotten it with Edge. His "encounters" with the GM, Ryder, Swagger, and Del Rio have been pure gold and hilarious. You gotta think a feud with Swagger is going to work its way here and possibly end at Survivor Series. And then maybe put Edge back into the World title hunt. And what better way to do so than at TLC. Edge has 2 specialty matches right there at his disposal in a TLC match or a Ladder match. Though you got to imagine Taker would be champ at the time and who knows if either man is physically ready to put themselves through a grueling match like that. Who knows. But the one thing that is for sure is that this is the best move for Edge and this move will most certainly get him back to the top of the WWE ladder.

I would love to see him feud with CM Punk, I think there would be some classic promos. Correct me if I'm wrong but the only time we've seen Edge vs CM Punk was when Punk cashed in his MITB on edge a few years ago. Also it opens the door for an Edge vs Christian feud down the line which I really think if Edge is going to retire in a couple years, his last match/feud should be with Christian. It would make sense.

Personally, i'm hoping that the 'undisclosed WWE superstar thinking of retiring soon' is actually Edge. Personally i'm bored of the guy and have been for quite some time, probably ever since his return from injury last year. The whole 'Spear, Spear!' thing was lame, his heel turn back again was also pretty stupid, and he's done nothing but be filler for PPV matches since then.

Someone's going to have to remind me, has Edge actually had an angle with anyone since he turned heel and went to Raw back in May? Or has he just floated around, had random #1 Contender matches here and there, and been shat on by the GM constantly for 6 weeks? I know that WAS his fued, but since it culminated in him smashing up a laptop and switching brands with nothing else in between, Edge has been a waste of space for the majoirty of 2010 imo.

I don't follow WWE TV anymore, so i may have completely forgotten something, but seemingly all he's done is fill gaps in mutli-man Title matches since May, and that's it.

I didn't see him interrupt Swagger on SD, but if it was anything like him interrupting Alberto Del Rio at HIAC, then this face turn will be just as bad as the 'Spear! Spear!' face turn was.

I for one am not interested in what Edge does on SD. To me all it means is, 'Here's another ME face to shit all over CM Punk and maybe put Swagger over, who'll only job to someone else repeatedly later anyway.'

Sure, he'll probably have a World Title Match with Kane, and fuck, he'll probably win it, but I personally am not looking forward to seeing anymore of what i saw on HIAC two nights ago from Edge, and as a heel, he's no where near as good as he used to be.

When he's slapping wrestler's family members and stealing girlfriends and engaging in bloodbaths with people, Edge is awesome. The Rated R Superstar in a PG Era seemingly has nothing to do.

I see some people are really hyped about all of this. I wish i could say the same, but this news of a face Edge being traded to SD doesn't intrigue me in the slightest.

I personally think Edge moving to Smackdown is the best thing for his career.

On RAW, there are too many main event level guys for him to compete with. He'd be behind Cena and Orton, 2 guys CLEARLY higher then him. Either way he can't be in the Main Events, because there are too many different guys, and he'd get lost in the shuffle. On Smackdown, he immediately becomes one of the better faces, Only really behind Taker. Therefore he can get in the title picture easier, and when he works with the lower guys (like Swagger) it means more, because he's higher on the totem pole.

I'm also really excited for his Face turn. He has been the same character for years now, and has gotten really stale (even during his brief face run after his return, he was the same character). The fans kind of proved my point last night on RAW, when Edge merely mentioned attacking Cole. The entire arena erupted into a "Spear! Spear! Spear! Spear!" chant. Now on Smackdown he can continue that feud with Jack Swagger and the Swagger Soaring Eagle, a feud which (after only 1 weeks of it) I'm already ecstatic over, because I felt it was the best thing on Smackdown, and will do wonders for both Edge, Swagger, and the Soaring Eagle.

And as a Zack Ryder mark, I'm happy to see Edge gone, because as funny as the backstage segments were, they really were almost detrimental to Ryders growth. Everything was really making fun of the guy, instead of touting him as a legitimate superstar. Now Ryder can eventually get into a US title feud with Daniel Bryan.

I'm also happy that Edge is now on SD, he belongs on SD. I'm hoping that Swagger and Edge carry on the feud, they look like they would have a pretty decent feud. I like the idea of Edge leading Team SD at Bragging Rights, he could just lead the team so he can get back at the Raw GM. I don't want him to get the World Title for abit if he goes straight into the title race because I think Edge is alot better chasing the title than holding the title.

All in all I'm glad that Edge is now back on the blue brand.

Edge back on Smackdown is great, theres just 1 thing I pray comes out of this

Edge vs Christian WM27

don't care if its for the world title or not, It needs to happen because we sure as hell know Christian needs something big to give him a decent push

I'm just wondering why this is happening while Edge is still fueding with the mystery GM, although it could all tie in with SD vs Raw for Bragging Rights now. I know he'll be a World Title contender at some point, but for now I like him in the midcard.

All I can say is yes! finally Edge is back on the right brand. He needs SD in the worse way and SD needs him. I hope this leads to a future Edge/Punk fued b/c that would lead to very entertaining promos and the matches will be good. I hope Edge continues on his war against stupiditiy b/c it's the most interesting he's been in a long time.

I like the Edge move to Smackdown. They've been lacking in the star power department lately. CM Punk is getting to be a lukewarm heel as is Swagger. Hopefully Edge can help revitalize the main event scene because as much as I love the Taker/Kane angle for it's nostalgia, it's been too predictable. It could also revitalize Edge because he's just been keeping busy having minor feuds on Raw.

Edge is my favorite wrestler, especially now with his crusade against stupidity. I'm quite happy with him moving to Smackdown, he'll probably have more room to shine there, and even more stupid things to combat.

I have enjoyed his feud so far with Swagger, and his mic work has been top notch over the past few weeks. I am not going to go crazy about this move to smackdown, but I think it is good for him, the Raw roster was too full, he needed this move to get some momentum. I hope the program he is running with Swagger lasts, becuase it is showing mass potential!

On Smackdown he'll be in the Main Event in no time. Edge is one of the funniest characters in WWE. As the Doc said he should fued with Swagger and then Del Rio and should be able to put on good matches with both of them

Edge on SD is a very good move, he has been really able to shine there on the blue team, and when i saw him in his red sunglasses and tenchcoat it feels liek we will get some of the old Edge from back a few years ago. His crusade on stupidity is making for good humourous promo's and segments and the fans enjoy it, he'll be on the main event scene on Smackdown in no time.

first thing that popped into my head when I saw this

"WHC Fued with CM Punk"

All day baby. All day.

Character clash is incredibly easy, and if anyone can get half decent matches out of Edge, itll be Punk. Edge is pretty much the top dog on SD by default here, but none to worry. He does well in that role, on this show.

As much as they try to undercut him, Punk is the top heel on the program, if not the entire WWE. I have a feeling that this last major weakling squash, he we will rise back up. A lot of times in the WWE, when someone eats shit with a smile on their face for a while, they get rewarded for it. He ate shit in the Big Show feud, ate shit against Undertaker a few times, and now I think the rewards are in store in the future, after the Taker-Kane program wraps up, or in the near future. THis can position him perfectly for a major program with Edge, which could provide some damn fine programming.

Of course all the fanboys would love a feud with Christian, but I would prefer a situation were they were both faces, and occasionally teamed up, like the Hardys a couple years back. That being said, there is ALL the potential in the world for Christian to return out of nowere as a heel, and do the fued with Edge that way. Which has potential to be fucking EPIC as well

Edge was given SOOOO Much love in Topeka when Teddy Long introduced him. I was so lucky to be sitting facing the camera the whole time and when Edge came over to our side after getting out of the ring during his match, the crowd was going INSANE with the love for him. I think it was the right move to put him back on the blue brand. What the home audience didn't get to see was when Swagger first started to talk during the live taping, his mic wasn't working, then Edge's didn't work, and Edge did an AMAZING job improvising. It was classic Edge comedy.

Deffinatley agree with the majority here that say Edge to Smackdown was the best move for his career. Its seemed as he had no direction on Raw as he was just kinda lost in the Main event shuffle. One thing Raw did do for Edge is lay the foundation for his new gimmick as he is in a fight against stupidity, and having those hilarious segments with Zack Ryder and even the mystery GM was a perfect way to start the whole fight against stupidity.

I look forward to feuds with the likes of Swagger and Del Rio, until the whole Undertaker Kane thing has died down and then he can be slipped right into the title picture. Smackdown needed some name power and Edge deff brings that. Hopefully this nice little face run hes having lasts longer than the last, which admittedly grew stale pretty fast.
