I understand that ECW is the third brand. And, naturally the writers and producers will give it significantly less time. But, just because it is a third class show doesn't mean that it has to be treated the way that it is. On tonight's broadcast there was in an hour 2 matches (maybe 3 i honestly don't remember) and each match involved non-ECW stars. The rest of the show was smackdown and raw recaps. I don't care that the new ECW is nothing like the old ECW ( i got over that a long time ago) but it doesn't mean that it has to be completely buried. The wrestlers that are being sent down to ECW the equivalent to taking old yeller out back. What is worse is by beating old washed up wrestlers, the new exciting wrestlers look bad as well. TNA has even beaten ECW a few times. I actually believe that ECW is hurting the WWE due to the awful programming it produces. If it wasn't for evan bourne i would never watch.

Last night should be called “Dark Tuesday” the night ECW officially became “Heat.” ECW is done as a brand and no re-branding is going to help it as the ECW Champion is not going to be on the WrestleMania card unless they pull a big swerve with Swagger and a an open challenge, but after what happen last night, ECW is just what “heat” used to be and nothing else. I have never missed an ECW, either I have taped it, Tivo it, or watched it live, but last night I went to sleep. I heard the ECW music look at the TV and said it wasn’t worth it. I’m hardcore to wrestling, I even watch the awful NWA Showcase and Lucha Libre wrestling even though I can make out what they are saying, it’s like they are speaking in a different language other than English, but anyway last night I thought ECW was worthless.
My thing is, why not just give the brand to Dreamer to write or someone on the roster who wants to get into match booking and let them book ECW as the other writers don’t care what happens on ECW and Vince doesn’t care either. So let someone else book and see what they come up with.
What I’m still trying to figure out is, how is the ECW Champion not even on the card at WrestleMania? You trying to tell me that they don’t have 7 minutes open on the entire card for Swagger to squash Dreamer? I mean come on.

Come on peoples, ECW was dead and burried in a week when it got bought back as a WWE program, we should not be showing any surprise at all. As for swagger at WM XXV he is too raw, look at the disaster of the originals vs the new breed, VKM would be trying to avoid a repeat of that, besides he will be ringside for the lumberjack match.

Doesnt anybody realize that he is the only champion not in a match at WrestleMania. ECW will never be above a D show in my opinion now. Jack Swagger killed ECW. Hell what kind of champion isnt even on the show? Hell Chavo was on ECW each week plus Smackdown and even had a match at Mania. I think its clear, Jack Swagger killed ECW.

Once ECw got re packaged as a WWE program I knew it was over. I don't even mind the fact that its nothing like the original. What my main concrn comes from is the fact that VKM is hurting these guys more than helping them.
IMO he keeps those guys on the roster just so they dont sign with TNA or ROH. It shows that WWE doesn't give two shits about ECW simpily because they didn't even give the show an official name. its ran like a cheap indie....hell even sunday night heat had a name.

I agree. I can not FUCKING STAND all the raw recaps and shit. I KNOW WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED ON RAW. Honestly, how many people watch ECW that don't watch Raw? Its gotten to the point where I do not give a shit about Triple H or Orton. The only reason I want to see Wrestlemania is for the Money In The Bank match. I really hate when WWE shoves shit down our throats. We get it. You want us to care about Triple H and Orton but if we don't really like Triple H then showing us the same clips over and over are not gonna make us care. That shit last night was a disgrace. I usually don't bitch about shit like that but that shit was out of hand. And good point about just letting Dreamer or somebody book ECW. ECW has the potential to be a really good show if they just let it be a show instead of showing us 40 times what happened on Raw. They should just let the wrestlers on ECW book that shit themselves. I don't see what difference it would make in fact it would make it better. Shit hire me to book ECW and I could do twice as good as they did last night. And yet again we got another fucking 7 minutes wasted on a 12 Rounds Promo. No WWE we didn't forget that its in theaters, we just thought it looked like a lousy movie and decided to keep our $9.50. Idk, i don't understand what is the point of all the damn recaps.

That is funny with the recaps and stuff, as no one just watches ECW, so yeah it was stupid, but after watching smackdown, I guess it's confirm that no ECW title match will take place at mania unless Swagger wrestles on the the preshow on WWE.com if they have the preshow this year. Why can't Vince just rename ECW, to WCW, people don't care about WCW.
What a Foolish statement to make, ECW could not be further away from what Heat used to be. Heat was a program for Jobbers to fight Jobbers nothing ever happened and it was recap after recap. ECW is not that. ECW is a place were new talent come to showcase their skills before they are ready for the main shows. To say ECW is done as a brand is naive, as it has been consistantly improving over the last few years and even beat TNA in the ratings.
How on earth is Vince hurting these guys? They have a show dedicated to them each week,giving them much needed exposure plus ECW gets a match on PPV i dont think thats hurting anybody. Yes the last weeks episode was basically recapping the feuds leading up to mania but its freakin' Wrestlemania it needs hyping, gettin people ready so to speak for the massive event. Its not as if every ECW is constantly a recap of Raw it has one segment dedicated to what happened that week just like Smackdown does.
You have to remember that this ISN'T the ECW of old and that constantly saying ''ECW was dead and burried in a week when it got bought back as a WWE program'' is annoying. We all know that its not the same ECW but what the WWE have made the new ECW into isnt a bad program at all and especially doesnt deserve the criticism its gettin when its beating TNA in the ratings.
I will agree that i found it a little strange that the ECW championship isnt been defended at Mania but its not that big of a deal, Swagger will get his moment later on in his career. Its like football, you dont have somebody come from your youth set up and instantly get to play in the big game and thats what ECW is, its a work in progress... a youth set up so to speak.
Give it chance guys, get out of the mentality of the old ECW and i think you will find that the new ECW isnt as bad as your all making it out to be.

Jeez oh pete...just because the ECW Title isn't being defended at Wrestlemania doesn't mean that the brand is dead or that the title is worthless. Remember No Way Out 2007? Oh yeah, neither of the world titles were defended, yet both are still very prestigious belts. The IC title hasn't been defended at Mania in many moons, but it's still in existence and still something sought after by countless mid-carders in the WWE. So, holy smokes...let's not jump to conclusions people. Put the mats away.
I agree 100%..honestly Smackdown this week was an absolute joke..the majority of the show was based solely on Raw Recaps which leads me to believe why we should even bother having 3 brands..if theres one show and two other shows to talk about that one show..its absolutely ******ed how WWE is neglecting SD and ECW..they dont give a crap about the 500th show or 10th anniversary but have 3hrs specials for Raw, and really glorify that show too much..i understand that raw was the main show back in the day but if ur gonna half ass the other shows, theres no point keeping them on the air..
As for ECW itself, they really should change the name of the show..its definiteyl not extreme anymore..i think everyone from the original ecw is gone except Dreamer..sigh...
