EC3 Gets a World Tag Team Title Shot; Who Will His Partner Be?

On the Final Resolution special this past week, Ethan Carter III opened his briefcase he gained from the Feast or Fired match and revealed that he has a World Tag Team Title shot.

Since his debut, EC3 has been riding solo and has faced off with low-level competition, beating them (with no surprise) within minutes. He was revealed to be the President's nephew and the cocky newcomer hasn't made any friends in the short amount of time he has been in TNA.

With a briefcase in his hands and a shot for the Tag Team belts, which unlikely partner does EC3 pick as he challenges for the belts?

Im taking the wild guess of sting being his partner. Im not sure how it will happen, but it makes a tiny bit of sense considering sting didnt get a match or other stuff he asked for from carter.

or maybe dixie carter will buy a big guy and make him carters parter. with the big guy doing all the work and carter getting pins.

Also, the tag champs are the bromans, also heels.

I think somehow his partner will definitely be Sting.

I agree, but the way i see them doing it is Sting jumping in the ring when EC3 wants to cash in then win the match while EC3 is either watching or been attacked by Sting to cause a face/heel tag team with these two, kinda like Team Hell No at the start of their teaming.

I'm pretty sure any team that EC3 ends up in will be entirely by accident, something like the Sting example that fizzdaboi posted above. Even after that, I just can't see EC3 functioning in a team (except with Spud). His character just doesn't seem like it would work whilst having to help a partner.

I wouldn't mind seeing them use Wes Brisco as EC3's new partner. Personally, I happen to like Wes and think the guy's got potential. Putting him with Team Dixie can keep him heel and give him something to do. I also wouldn't be surprised if they kept the whole British Theme and went with Rob Terry.

Wow, it's like you read my mind. I was thinking Big Rob Terry would be a perfect fit along with Magnus, Spud, and the Carters as they could use some muscle for Magnus to hide behind. I also like your idea of Brisco being the partner though I think that Garett Bischoff would fit along with EC3, as his "Aunt" helped him get his foot in the door and Garett is, well a Bischoff.

I think it should be Sting. Maybe turn Sting heel? I may be in the minority here, but I've always enjoyed when Sting has turned heel in TNA.

I would not be surprised if EC3's new partner ends up being either Wes Brisco or Garett Bischoff to be honest because with EC3 being a "Carter" and him teaming up with a 2nd generation superstar the likes of Brisco or Bischoff then they could actually be a formidable heel tag team like in the vains of a Rhodes & DiBiase

I hope it's Dixie. And I hope they just pay the BroMans to lay down.

I doubt if even TNA knows as this point. I think they just wanted to give EC3 a briefcase to give him more gimmicks - which is totally fine with me - but I doubt they know where he's going with it yet. They still have to get through this program with Sting first. There's also this little issue of the BroMans being champions, and all of them being heels. I really was kidding about them laying down for Carter.

The only logical choice at this point seems to be Rockstar Spud. Which might be a good choice. But again, with Chavo gone, there isn't a single babyface tag team in TNA right now. So the briefcase might as well be a giant pile of sand.

If he gets to choose who is partner is and the partner of his choice HAS to team with him i think he could choose sting to further there storyline, if not then Rockstar spud seems like the most likely choice

I agree with most people. There could be a scenario where he wins with Sting. But I have a fear they may ditch it as when the 4 on 2 Handicap match happened EC3 seemed on the same page as the Bromans. So I think he may have a short reign with Sting and I would personally love that to happen.
