SmackDown! is MY Show
Mike Johnson is reporting that Dustin 'Goldust' Rhodes is backstage at the TNA PPV in Orlando, Florida and is expected to start tonight with the company.

Now I have no idea why he go to TNA when a while back he that sweet deal to go back to WWE and be one of the big heels. The only thing i can think of ann that is he wanted a lighter work schedule. But TNA does not need him theres no room on the roster as it stands now. BUt i dunno I just think TNA is not the best move for him to make.

Any thoughts?

I'm neither here nor there about this. It's a good move for Dustin, not so much for TNA. I've always enjoyed Dustin's work though, so I'm sure I'll enjoy watching him in TNA. He may not have the in-ring skills that he used to but he's still good on the mic and for some reason I've always liked the guy.

But man...TNA really needs to stop with the WWE rejects.

I guess its a good move for Dustin with the lighter work schedule in all, but I see no reason for him to be there though. Really what will TNA do for him or what will he do for TNA? I doubt very much and he is up in age and his better years have passed him. I just dont see what direction they are going by picking up Dustin I just dont.

I agree X TNA needs to layoff on hiring ex-WWE guys and hit the indy scene more for guys and gals.

he was too low on wwes roster to even play the role of a worthy contender in tna without it majorly downplaying their world title. if he comes in to job to robert roode a few times, then it wont be a bad idea, but if he comes in and fueds with angle and christian, itl be a horrible move.

I think it would have been a better move to go with the deal WWE gave him instead. He could have bin a big contender.Plus what can they really do with Goldust in TNA.Their roster is very packed.I would have rather seen him go to WWE and help out with the whole Randy/Dusty conflict thats going on.

I dont really get his move after all he wasnt much in WWE why would they want him..hes not gonna come in and make an instant impact, i guess in a way it's good for goldust his gimmick is just weird and in WWE he would get lost again and not even be used much but i doubt he will be running for any title in TNA but really TNA has got to quit with the WWE has beens as someone said and start building for the future on theyre young talent..they have alot of it and go and pick up some more guys from the smaller promotions and build on that quit going after all these old guys they arent going to get you anywhere.. its good for Goldust though

This move is a confusing one for me. Firstly, Goldust was reportedly going to be the guy to feud with Cena throughout the summer as the number one heel in the WWE, and he turns it down? Also, his brother and dad are currently running a program against Randy Orton, surely Dustin could have been used in that, and he still turned down the WWE Deal? something tells me there is something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

As for him actually going to TNA. I could see the lighter work schedule being a very good looking bonus. The big thing is, Goldust is owned by WWE, and Dustin Rhodes has never flown too well without his gimmick. If he tries Goldustin, the WWE will be allover that like flies on shit.

Plus with TNA, they really really need to utilize the people in house already. They have phenomenal talents, and bringing in a guy that I wouldn't call a has been or reject, hell the WWE was after him this summer and he turned it down, not a reject. Dustin Rhodes isn't going to turn heads in the wrestling business, and apparantely it's an unhappy house in TNA right now, this move just looks to further complicate things.

So he turns down a job a WWE, to go to a smaller company like TNA? Doesn't make sense to me. He's no spring chicken. He should try and make as much money now as possible. It's not like he's a legend like his father. After his wrestling career is over that's pretty much it for him.

Having him in TNAs worthless. Nobody cares about him. He isn't even an aging legend like Animal, Rick or Scott Steiner. He's Dusty Rhodes' son. The one with the wacky gimmick, he doesn't even have that now. It's a spot on the roster that's going to somebody that they dont need, and who wont help buisness.

If he did indeed turn down a main event WWE offer that a bonus at least to the fact that people are considering TNA as an alternative due to the schedule. However, I don't know why TNA would want him. As everyone said, he's pretty useless without the Golddust gimmick and isn't all that entertaining.

dustin rhodes. who ever said he was gonna get a main event push in wwe? theres no logic to that potential move at all. the only thing i could see him doing in wwe was going to ecw where hed job to cm punk every week. then maybe hed fued with boogeyman.
so tna is a good move for rhodes but tna better just be using him for enhancement talent for chris harris right now or hel just be wasted money that should be used to secure samoa joe and ron killings to their contracts.

Dustin Rhodes? I have no interest in seeing him outside his goldust gimmick, all he is, is a gimmick. He doesn't have the talent or youth to carry himself without it. This is just a waste of roster space that should be given to a Bryan Danielson or another young talent. Why TNA wastes space and money on washed up wrestlers nobody wants to see is beyond me.

i disagree though rhodes will lose against harris at hard justice
