Drew McIntyre speaks about the current generation

Thepiedpiper

Forever young!
Drew Mcintyre tweeted this recently about the current generation and the future of the WWE.

Sometimes in life, you got to step back and realize no matter what you have accomplished or you feel the world owes you, in reality, you're Damn lucky to even be involved in WWE. I know you're all calling for a revolution....it's not time yet ;) After all, no matter what the net says, wrestling's future is ours!! The current generation have a chance to save our business, and if we don't, wrestling as we know it is finished.

Interesting what the Mac has to say! :)

I love Drew McIntyre but as far as I'm concerned his time for a revolution better come sooner than later. He has the talent in the ring and on the mic. All he need is a push in the right direction and some good storytelling to work with.

Somehow I think the wrestling business will be just fine with or without him. It is in no danger of going anywhere. I know he is just trying to speak to his loyal fan(s) but the dramatics are a little bit much. He should spend his time working on a character or a way to get a reaction from the audience and less time trying to woo his small fanbase with dramatic musings.

Piedpiper - if you are going to start another McIntyre non-spam thread, please help us with an opinion or something more to talk about.

Now, there's an ambiguous post! On one hand, it gives credence to the words spoken a few months ago by Rory McAllister, who wrestled as one of the Highlanders in WWE, criticizing Drew for not making his case to WWE to feature him.....rather, sitting back and just being happy he has a job. I detested the thought; it tempting to think a guy who's aggressive in the ring is also that way outside it.

But is it true? After all this time I've been hoping for him to attain stardom, is he not expecting anything but looking to stay employed?

But then, he goes and says this, which might be an indication that good stuff is on the way. I've been saying all along that I wish we knew what was going to happen with Drew, one way or the other.

This tweet of his does nothing to clear up the subject.

Personally I think it's great that he has such a passion for the company, he's speaking to his loyal fans as you say, who are also passionate!

This is something that is built in, not produced by dramatics.

Haven't you seen Braveheart?...jeez! :p

I think Drew acknowledges that he needs to be patient and wait for his big break. I mean c'mon, the guy is about 27 I think. All your major stars at the moment are in their mid 30s or older.

Also, I think Rory McAllister got it all backwards, because had Drew tried to make a fuss and be featured then he probably would have been released. Remember, Drew was in the doghouse for a long time because of the hotel incident with Tiffany.

I liken Drew to a young HHH. At the start, HHH was also punished because of the MSG Kliq incident. HHH took his punishment and worked his way up the card. I think the best thing Drew could have done was keep quiet like he did. Because now we know he is loyal and the man I compared Drew to is encouraging his push up the card. I'd be suprised if Drew isn't back in the IC Title scene within the next year.

With the way WWE has been pushing social media lately, does anyone really believe that this was some random tweet?

Think about it for a second, JTG basically bashes WWE while backstage at Raw and they did nothing to him.

When a current member of the roster, whether being used or not, sends tweets out, a majority of the time, management is aware ahead of time. In my opinion, this is just the beginning of the rumored re-packaging of Drew McIntyre that has been talked about for the last few months.

Ok, I get you, I do. But what if he just had permission to give out a heart felt statement once in a while?

He has just recently opened up on twitter and has been taking a Q&A session recently. They know about that, but what about his photo with his parents? Did he have to ask for permission for that?

I'm still not sure, still a lot of people don't believe in Drew as he's hardly on tv, this message was for his fans, so what purpose would it have to tell his fan base? Surley twitter is not the only way to relay such a meaningful message?

I hope I'm wrong, as seeing new life breathed into his character would be fantastic, yet I'll see it when I believe it, and WWE are good at surprises and with HHH being more involved I'm sure he has something in mind to make Mcintyre's character work!

Plant seeds and watch them grow. ;)

Don't know where you heard this crap from. You seem to be forgetting JTG spoke out on an issue WWE management supposedly realized an error in, with payments, not only that but he featured on television the following week, gained some props from the likes of Bret Hart on speaking out and reportedly got a lot of positive feedback from other talents in the locker room who felt as though they were being low-balled in-terms of payments from Wrestlemania, merchandise and stuff.

And if you think WWE monitors every tweet sent out, or even a majority, from every Superstar and Diva then my God you must truly believe the company has very little to be at. They may instruct talents on what to, and when to tweet, especially for build-up towards in-character happenings but I highly doubt they told CM Punk to reply to a fan telling him to, "kill yourself," don't you think?

As for Drew's message, it is nice to see unlike the majority of his passionate fanbase he lives in the real world. Whether he amounts to anything in the future will remain to be seen. He only has himself to blame for the majority of his failures, I can't recollect any talent being pushed as hard as he was, especially as a top level heel only to fail. Whether that annoys some of McIntyre's avid fans, I could care less, aside from Mustang Sally I care more about what a politician thinks than a Drew McIntyre fan; cause Sally thinks before she posts.

It might be part of his future storyline. I would like if they made a new fraction or stable and he was the leader. I think his time is coming but they need a perfect storyline and feud. I don’t want to see him thrown into just anything and then the story doesn’t go anywhere.

So he is lucky for everything he has & should just be happy but wants to save wrestling & start a revolution? A little ironic/hypocritical?

I quess I get what he is saying & I agree.

Problem is he will probably have NOTHING to do with that "Revolution".

I have been a big fan of McIntyre & thought he could have been the World Heavyweight Champion at one point, but that point is LONG GONE!
Guys like Sandow & Cesaro are already WAY above him currently.

**I agree with what Shawn Caivari said. Something along the lines of, McIntyre could have left WWE if he saw the writing on the walls(if there was any) and been worth something to TNA, the indies, etc. Now he has tarnished his legacy and has a year or two maybe at most to really step up and turn things around before he is just another jobber that get's future endeavored.**
