Drew McIntyre: Possible Paul Heyman Guy ?

#IndyRules

Ignatius Sandow Jr.
Following the recent tweets concerning Drew McIntyre and Paul Heyman that led to this article on WZ http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/273...ant-out-of-3mb-is-he-seeking-heymans-services .

My question to you guys is would this make sense and would people welcome it ?

There is no question it would benefit McIntyre, who is a fantastic athlete and entertainer, to become aligned to Mr Heyman.

Would it make sense ? I think it obviously could work, axel never made sense but after a while it grew on most people.

The alignment of McIntyre with Heyman would get him over with the casual as he is already over with most wrestling fans who know there stuff.

Would people welcome it ? I think so, it's logical for a guy like him to join up with Paul, two sinister guys working together, eh ?

Please give me your feedback and how this could possibly be brought about ?

I hate the idea. He is the antithesis of a "Heyman Guy" and if Paul E. is really gonna form a stable I'd rather it not be full of jobbers.

I am interested to see what Axel can do with his push. I suppose the IC belt is coming his way Sunday. He has been impressive in limited action.

I just want Drew out of 3MB and return to noticeable/pushed area. He needs to be in the world title picture working a heel feud with Ziggler who would turn face. I have no doubts they would put on good matches. If not there at least on the high-end card.
The idea of Heyman fits if im honest. Heyman will need a new mean-time client when jericho leaves for fozzy after he turns on Punk and Brock isn't gonna be back anytime soon. So he is a good transitional client if you could call it that.

Valid thought, but then, Joe Hennig was a jobber before getting this enormous push. They're just fodder until management gets behind them.

Drew McIntyre wasn't brought in as a jobber. They started him out with a gimmick he wasn't ready for (The Chosen One) and he was too inexperienced to handle it, didn't sell well for his opponents, and it was reported his attitude in the locker room was negative in the beginning. But my guy's been proving himself for a long time and imo, has long since made up for whatever happened back when.

His current weakness is on the mic, and if Paul Heyman can be the mouthpiece for Brock Lesnar, he can surely do it for Drew.....in the same manner Zeb Coulter helped mask Jack Swagger's inadequacy on the mic.

Of course, while 3MB is an amusing joke, it's given Drew exposure he wasn't getting while sitting in the doghouse or jobbing to people like Santino Marella. He's shown some good stuff in the ring even while getting pounded by the stars. Maybe the brass is finally taking notice.

Of course, this is Drew's tweet. Does he know something, or is he just tossing out junk online?

All I can say is: from Drew's keyboard to Vince McMahon's ears.

I would absolutely love to see Drew leave 3MB and receive a push. And much like I said the other day in another thread....

I don't care if they align him with Heyman, Colter, or even Piper, but they need to get this guy back on track ASAP!

I don't see the appeal or drawing power in Drew McIntyre. I can't even imagine his name on the marquee, main-eventing WrestleMania. He's just a boring, Scotsman that has bland written all over him. Don't see why people are drooling over him or why Paul Heyman would want any business with him. Brock Lesnar wiped his ass with 3MB awhile back.

I dunno. I'm kinda torn on this to be quite honest.

On one hand, I've always kinda liked McIntyre. He's someone that works hard and does his best with what he's been given, even if what he's been given is pure crap. I do think that he was pushed too soon as the IC champ and that he improved quite a bit after he dropped the title. Then all the drama started with his gal, now Taryn in TNA, and got into some hot water. An association with Heyman could potentially do a lot for McIntyre and, from an overall perspective, I've been more impressed with McIntyre & the potential he has than I have been about Axel/McGuillicutty. Granted, it's still extremely early for Axel but back in his McGuillicutty days, McIntyre struck me as being superior.

At the same time, however, I'm not sure about the idea of watering down Paul Heyman's role as that of being a more run of the mill manager. Also, the notion of a "Paul Heyman Guy" being someone brought up from NXT does have a much fresher feel about it overall than someone whose been on the main roster for 5.5 years.

He's 6'5, can go in the ring, aggressive to the point of being convincing (something severely lacking in nearly everyone else) and he's handsome as fuck. If you can't see the potential in that it's your own fault, the guy has star written all over him.

I think Drew absolutely would fit in with Heyman. He has that tough in your face style in the ring, and had a mean streak to go with it. Heyman would be the perfect mouthpiece for him. My fear is that if Heyman gets to many "guys" then it will water the whole affect down. Drew has been around for a while now so it would not be out of the Question for Heyman to acquire him, and say he is going to be the guy to turn Drew's career around. If he were to add him then I think that should be it and just keep Heyman managing four guys. I posted in another thread that I thought Barrett would be a good Heyman guy, but I think Drew is an even better choice.

Yeah I don't get the hype on this guy at all either. He's got some in-ring ability but nothing unbelievable.

In fact, I will go ahead and guarantee Heyman doesn't align himself with this forgotten turd.

I've always been a Drew Mac fan. Adding another Heyman guy so soon though I'm a bit wary of because Heyman/Axel just started. I want Axel to succeed. I've been pushing for Drew Mac to get some sort of push for a while now. I do believe he's the TOP guy of 3MB. He's been a jobber for the most part of 2 years now. So some backstage vignettes/major storyline w/no wwe-style loopholes will be needed. IF Drew's punishment is over and they're going to start pushing him again they need to start by breaking him away from the job squad that is 3MB.

I do believe he is above the 3MB; however, I don't want another Paul Heyman guy. At least not yet. However, it would be very interesting to see Heyman play on the fact that McIntyre was a "Vince McMahon guy" previously but it didn't work out. Heyman than goes on to make McIntyre big and gets one over Vince.

McIntyre is talented in the ring and is a solid mid-carder. I don't think that he is World-Title caliber but is can still be useful. Heyman will help increase his status and role within the roster which can only be good for McIntyre and the WWE. There is no point in wasting someone with talent.

Yes Drew McIntyre is above 3MB and honestly I feel like Slater and Mahal are holding McIntyre back, they are dead weight and Drew needs a career revival and he can revive, resurrect his career by becoming a Paul Heyman guy by playing on the fact that Drew is a Vince McMahon guy with Vince labelling him The Chosen One but that never could happen, but with Paul Heyman in his corner he can truly become WWE's "Chosen One" in the sense of becoming a future main event calibre guy

Only interesting angle on this idea I've heard yet.
With all the Vince/HHH shit going on I doubt they are gearing up for another huge Heyman/McMahon war of words and struggle for power.
