How is that broken down in terms of players and fees?

Fabregas, Song, Henry, Vermaelen are the main ones that come to mind but I must be missing a few out at fairly substantial fees.

Edit - I read those numbers the opposite way around. Did they really get 30 million each for Henry and Song though!?

It's Henry, Marc Overmars, Fabregas, Giovanni Von Bronckhorst, Sylvinho, Song, Alex Hleb, Emmanuel Petit, and now Vermaelen.

The club bought the site for the stadium in 2000, so Overmars and Petit are technically part of the payment.

Brilliant!

I love checking through the stats since we sold Andy Caroll as well. We sold him for £35 and signed 18 players in the following 2 seasons. The total spent was £49 mil but when you consider:

One was Cabaye who we made a £15 mil profit on and another was Debuchy who we made a £7 milion profit on we essentially made £57 million from Andy Caroll plus the 25% sell on fee which gives us another 3.75 million.

That means from the sale of Andy Caroll Newcastle made £60.75 million.

The total we've spent since then including this transfer windows brings us to £89million.

Sold were:
£3.5 for Kevin Nolan, £2 for Wayne Routledge, £6.3 for Enrique, £3 for LEON BEST!, £4.5 in total for Fraser Forster (now he's gone to Southampton with sell on fee), £7.5 for Ba, £1 for Perch = £27.8 million. There's a couple of smaller players in there for undisclosed so for my maths sake we'll round it to £29 million.

So selling 9 players and signing 26 (excluding the loan deals we did) leaves us 15 players up for a break even (3 of the 26 have now gone).

It's always a good feeling when the clubs who make sure to balance their books come out of a deal looking better than the clubs that spend insane amounts of money.

So selling 9 players and signing 26 (excluding the loan deals we did) leaves us 15 players up for a break even (3 of the 26 have now gone).

That's actually an insane statistic, especially considering how many genuinely good players you got out of the deal.

Especially when some of the ones sold are Leon Best, Wayne Routledge and James Perch.

Missed one out so it's 10 sold giving us 14 players for a break even. Yet people say Ashley doesn't know how to run a football club.

Ah that makes more sense. I was thinking of the timeline from when Emirates opened.

Is Hleb still playing? He didn't seem to be that old when he was sold.

How much have City attributed to the Emirates build? Sagna was free but I think Arsenal have still taken a fair chunk of change from them.

Good game so far though!

Pardew and Iron Sheik!

Well not really Pardew but I did have to do a double take.
