How fucking stupid is that decision by UEFA? 2 minutes. 2 fucking minutes.

More to the point, if he was suspended, why did the UEFA officials allow him to be allowed to be listed as a substitute? I understand the rulling though I may disagree with it. Celtic will go get battered elsewhere in the next qualification round I suppose.

Exactly, disgraceful really.

Not trying to defend Celtic but it's not their fault whatsoever. What professional football team with continental ambitions can't check their fucking paperwork for selecting a team? Honestly, it's beyond belief how stupid they are.

And the ruling wasn't over an "ineligible" player, it was for playing a "suspended" player. The rules are pretty clear on this. Play a suspended player and you lose the match 3-0. That's the rules. If you know that, then why play the player for 2 minutes. It's ridiculous.

But say whatever you like, and one of you would revel in this if it were your team. Don't kid yourself.

Although the guy who missed the 2 penalties in the first leg must feel like a right twat today. If he'd have scored one of those they would have went through 5-4 on aggregate.

Oh I'd revel the fuck in it but it's a rather harsh decision. I know the rules are the rules.

The player had actually had his 3 match suspension though, it was due to him not being down as registered for the last round that caused the confusion.

Hey now, we're not having a go at Celtic (well, maybe I threw a last minute dig in about getting battered next round, but you went and drew the almight Slovenian's so...). Rather, we're having a go at UEFA for lacking the common sense to check to make sure the players on either bench are available for selection or if they're ineligible (if you're suspended, you're still ineligible, it's a blanket term). Celtic just seem to have this good fortune with it being the second time inthe past few seasons.

I actually can't believe that they wouldn't know you have to register the player so he can serve his suspension. Honestly, a ridiculous oversight on the part of Legia.

I got a text this morning saying that the guy "was the biggest impact sub of all time". Since its cost Legia somewhere between £5-£15m, I guess that's the case after all.

Yeah, I just feel bad for the player because he probably assumed that it was fine rather than going "look I'm suspended!"

The only other time I can find was when Liverpool were given a walkover (3-0) in the 2000-01 UEFA Cup after Red Star played some suspended players. The precedent is there.

Sunderland AFC! I'm too lazy to look through the posts but do any of you guys play fantasy football with dreamteamfc? was just wondering who you's had. :)

So's the PL one and it means you don't have to have anything to do with the sun.
