I would go 3-4-3 as you rarely get points from a defender.

Lovren and Fonte are a gamble together as they're from the same team. Say Southampton got beat 3-0 you'd be losing points.

The important thing is to find someone who will get you points that not many others had.

Also I'm top of the league Sammy!

Hey guys. Been pretty absent for about a month. Again. I'm doing pretty shit in fantasy. But yeah, first time, so I didn't really expect much. Somebody, maybe Gelgarin I think, told me to pick a few key people and round out the team with folks that will consistently play 90 minutes every game. Which I did, I thought, but people I thought were gonna pan out - like Snograss - didn't. And RVP was great for like...2 weeks. So I finally decided his 14M was too damn expensive, and swapped him out for Giroud and Ramsey instead.

I decided to use my wildcard this week. Too early, do you think? I have a really good team now, in theory. 7 or 8 people on the overall dream team. I didn't plan it that way, but that's how it ended up. I don't know why, but I really like tracking defenses. It makes the games more exciting when you need your teams to keep up clean sheets. I now have Jose Enrique, Fonte, Lovren and Baines. Pretty solid I think. Ramsey and Yaya to lead the midfield, plus Barkley from Everton for some consistent, cheap points. And I decided to switch to 4-3-3 so now I've got Sturridge, Giroud and Remy from Newcastle.

Any feedback would be great.

Also, because I don't live in the UK, I decided this was going to be my year to actually decide on one or two alliances. I really have no strong feelings towards any particularly parts of England. Sorry. I've never been there. I've just supported good teams as a fair weather fan, because I like good soccer. My friend is a Chelsea fan, so I thought about them. I really like Arsenal. Not just because they're #1 right now, but because they have a great team and I was hoping they'd do really well this season. Tottenham has been fun to watch recently. Any ideas?

Ramsey and Yaya make up my central midfield, and they've worked wonders for me. They're the two most in-form midfielders in the league, so they're an absolute must-have at the moment.

It's never too early to use the wildcard. I used it last week so I'd have Suarez and Sturridge together against a piss-poor Crystal Palace defence, and that went reasonably well, I got the most points this round out of anyone in the WZ league, plus I now have the best strikeforce in the league. But you do need to make the most of your wildcard.

You shouldn't play all three of your strikers every week, not when you've got such a strong midfield. I would say use Sturridge every week, and use Giroud very often, except when he's being marked by someone smarter than he is. Remy I would only use every so often. I mean, I don't think Remy will score against the likes of Arsenal or Liverpool this year. But he should pick up some good points against bottom half teams. Although, you also have a pretty mediocre defence, so it might be a good idea to play all the strikers...

Also, support Arsenal. Chelsea are the second most hated club in England, after Manchester United. Arsenal are generally very well respected due to their manager, style of play and financial independence. Everton is another good choice, with Roberto Martinez now at the helm.

Remy has scored 5 in 3 games, including Everton. He's also got the assist on the goal that was scored in the match before that.

And Chamakh scored 7 goals in 9 games as well as a few assists in his first 3 months with Arsenal. Doesn't mean anything in the long term. Remy has to show he can be consistent, more consistent than he was at QPR, before he's a worthy fantasy pick .

I wouldn't play him against Liverpool though.

My star man is back from injury next week!

Now I know who you are. A few on the list I didn't know the forum name to list provided.

You'd think England would but my mentality as a Liverpool fan is that I dont want Gerrard, Sturridge and (probably) Johnson or Sterling to go.

I wouldnt be unhappy but it's an easy group and they should have been able to get out of it automatically.

A decent way to waste a quarter of an hour.

The problem with these lists is any football fan worth their salt will be able to name 10 better, right off the top of their heads. I could create that 10 just using Matt Le Tissier and Dennis Bergkamp (and seriously, Bergkamp Vs Argentina didnt even make the 100?)

As soon as Cameron Jerome appeared twice and Scholes didn't appear at all, I knew it wasn't a be-all-and-end-all list, but I saw some nice goals I hadn't seen before as well as a few classics too.

I'm such a goals-mark :(

Edit - as soon as I saw the Bergkamp goal V Newcastle, I did wonder if Shearer's rocket V Everton would appear. Also, the straight on view of Carlos' goal V France would have been much more impressive as you can see a ball-boy start to scamper for the shot he presumes is sailing wide.

I must have been watching a different game than many of the commentators and pundits who are talking about the England game being a tense, nervy affair.

Aside from two Lewandowski chances, Poland never looked like scoring, whilst England played some of their best football this century in the first half. They fell away in the second half but never looked in danger.

We didn't finish bottom and beat a decent team at home and away. All in all, fairly content with that given how badly we started the campaign.

With the expansion of the Euro's to 24 teams I reckon you've a decent chance of qualifying for France
