The first City goal by De Jong is the greatest combination of fluke and quality I've ever seen. It had no right to beat Reina. Joe Hart kept them in it but we battered them again.

Craig Bellamy is a genius. If he played like that for us a few years ago, we never would have sold him. He got a massive standing ovation and deserved every second of it.

Liverpool were superb though, truly great to come back twice though we should have made it safe, still need a great DM to replace Lucas and look a little shy of ideas up top.

Thoughts on the penalty lads? In my eyes, Richards was stupid for having his hands flailing like that.

First goal was flukey alright but Silva made our players look like kids in the build up to the goal.

Bellamy was brilliant, seems like such a waste having him in the championship last year if he's capable of performances like that. If he keeps playing like that ill personally hand him the golf club next time he sees John arne Riise.

Richards was just asking to give away a penalty with the way he was throwing his arms around. No doubt Mancini will be pissed off with him when he sees the footage.

Bit of a raw deal for Bellamy though. He has to stop his hometown clubs best chance of silverware in years come February.

Stephan Savic is like Man City's version of Pascal Cygan and Senderos.

Oh, and I still have no clue about what's going on with Redknapp.

How he got that Louise lass is a great mystery and has baffled the brilliant minds of today for years.

As for the penalty, I'm afraid I need to quote Arsene and say "I-uh didn't see it." Stupid work.

Im sayin to all the futbol fans out there, if you can tune in to River-Boca tonight, id reccomend it. those games are a treat for fans wherever you are. you can watch it at the link below, it starts in a little less than 2 hours. 10:10 Argentina time.

It's a cup tie a take it. How are river doing in the lower division have they much chance of getting promoted this year?

its the summer tournament, basically just an excuse for the teams to play a derby today and sunday on neutral sites.

they finished second in the first half of the season, but since Argentina has that cooky promotion system they are first by quite a gap in promotion points. so best case scenario they will get a free promotion this summer, worst case they have to play a playoff to get promoted.

Apparently Gareth Barry decided against coming to Liverpool because the Kop chanted "You can stick your Gareth Barry up your arse" during the whole transfer saga. It was not that Barry was not wanted at Liverpool per se; he was just wanted a lot less than the player he was being bought to replace - Xabi Alonso.

Looking back, that attempted transfer was the beginning of the decline of Rafa Benitez

Check under your PM tree Tin Tin i sent you the link for the highlights. Dunno if it's legal to post here though.

Aye I just watched them now. De Jong's goal was pretty good I have to say. The penalty wasn't exactly a stone-waller though, if the ball had hit his arms directly rather than off his leg then yeh, more of a clear-cut penalty.

Great win for Liverpool. Another really good performance. De Gea really is poor. Not much better feeling than dumping Utd out the Cup.

Whoever fills Fergie's shoes is going to have a tough time, but I'm still hoping Moyes will be a candidate. He's done wonders with hardly any money and has brought on some good young talent, so the question mark I have over him is how he would deal with the big stars with big egos.

Moyes seems like a manager who disciplines players well. I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a likely candidate.

By the way, QPR can fuck off. I hope they get relegated, one of the most bitter & unprofessional sides in the Premiership. They've got some nerve claiming that it wasn't a penalty in the FA Cup clash after the penalty awarded to Helguson in October.

That's getting harder and harder to defend with each game. Only saw the highlights on the news, was it a decent game?

Utd dominated until the last 10 minutes. Similar to the performance they had against Arsenal, lots of possession but not very direct. Probably would have won if not for De Gea's errors.

I was going to pick on the first sentence but the whole thing is wrong. The only United dominance was just before and after the goal, either side of half time. We had the best of the first minutes until we scored and then we were all over you for the rest of the game. De Gea's errors helped Liverpool come back into the game.

We even had the luxury of taking Gerrard off at 1-1. United looked truly toothless and I dont think I've ever said that. They looked desperately lacking for creativity, the only great chance they created was the goal and it came after a defensive error. Scholes was compared to luxury motor for most of his career but he really didnt penetrate at all and Valencia was the main threat. The sun was causing more problems than Welbeck did.

I really don't know what game you watched.

Transfer deadline day is upon us fellas and so far there have been no real notable stories. Though I'm not a Rangers fan, them selling Jelavic to Everton without a replacement lined up doesn't seem like the wisest of moves. Supposedly they are after Norwich's Grant Holt but that would be a leap backwards for Holt.

I hope Tevez gets a move because I'm fed up with his ongoing saga.

Please, please, please, PLEASE tell me I'm not just seeing things, and that an Everton fan has in fact handcuffed himself to the Man City goal!? That has cheered me right up!

Lee, a few seasons ago, did Newcastle use Angle's "Medal" theme now and then for the team coming out? I seem to remember hearing it from a game with them involved but can't remember if they were home or away.
