Domestic football - spam version

Som3 g0od action in the Champions League today. Great to se3 small3r teams giving it a go against the big boys.

Lallana continues to prove that he will be nothing more than a handy Liverpool player rather than someone who can take them to the next level. Sad to say, but Liverpool's Transfer business in the summer(over 100mil was spent!!) continues to be shown up with every match.
Quality over Quantity, Brendan!

Careful rusty he's probably red repping everything you say because your not supporting your local team, even though he's from Australia as well...

Not every English midfielder has a Makelele or a Xabi Alonso/Mascherano to make him look good all the time. :)

Oh he already did that the other day. :lmao:

I do support my local team, except the EPL is 50 times better than the 'soccer' we have here.

Again, you twist my words to suit your point. I never said it was about supporting your 'local' team. I said I find people who support the big clubs without being from the area to be pretty fake - i.e. Chelsea and Manchester United in both your cases. Because the reason for supporting those clubs is so obviously plastic no matter what you say.

I live in Australia. I'm from London.

Boooooooo your team sucks, Wellington Phoenix is where it's at, although I only pretend to support them because I don't want to hear the stupid arguments about the two Melbourne teams :p

I don't support a team in the epl or any soccer league. If Hamsik (♥) comes to an English club then I'll follow that team but for now I'm teamless scum.

Personally, I am not sure what games people have been watching when it comes to criticising Lallana in a Liverpool shirt. In most of the games he has played he has shown himself to be a willing runner and worker, plus he can beat a man and find himself space. On top of that, he started the season injured so I would hardly label him a disappointment yet.

Of course, one decent display does not change everything but if anything, last night in Madrid proved that BR's transfer dealings have not been anywhere near as bad as people would like to make out. Up until then, it had been his inability to get the right team together.

Now he might even recognise that his team/squad can be deployed in a more structured way against the bigger sides.

Lallana, Lovren and Markovic will come good.

The rest of the team will start kicking into gear once Sturridge returns to partner Balotelli.

Football fans are fickle. Pool will come good.

If you had an option to be a winner or a loser, what would you choose? I'd choose rich every fuckin' time.

There is no argument to be had, Victory are Melbourne's team. Owned by Melbournians, more fans, can actually win a game, 2 time champions and premiers. City are an arab billionaires play toy that's broken and can't be fixed.

I've heard many Lpool fans who claim that Lallana is in the class of someone like Alexis Sanchez... Hence my comment, as I don't believe that he will be much more than what a James Milner is to ManCity, atm.

As for Brendan's Summer Dealings...we can only go on the evidence thus far, and given the performances of the team thus far as a whole and the fact none of the signings have made an impact....then yes, Brendan's signings have sucked until they can actually start to improve...

Right now, it just seems like Liverpool is in a "Wait for Daniel Sturridge mode" more than anything...

Boro second, fuck yeah! This makes the weekend clash with Bournemouth for the top. Showing good momentum.

Lallana is a completely different player to both Sanchez and Milner so those are poor comparisons.

And on the subject of Milner, I really do not get the criticism he gets. Man City are a far better side when he plays, mainly because he makes up for the laziness of many of the superstars.

I say that it is too early to pronounce a useful judgement on the signings BR made in the summer. Sure, there are some worrying signs from one or two of them, but I would still argue that that is as much BR himself getting it wrong with how he plays them rather than on the actual quality of the players.

On top of that, new or foreign players like Costa and Di Maria hitting the ground running are far and away the minority of foreign signings. If you are going to proclaim Markovic and Lovren as failures already then the likes of Mangala and Falcao must be judged as being equally bad, if not worse.

On that note, rumours floating about that LVG is not going to sign Falcao once his loan is up.
