Balotelli means Tasty can wear his why always me t-shirt AND support Liverpool.

Also Blackburn turned £12mil down for Jordan Rhodes and the press wonder why clubs aren't buying British.

Gibbs and the Ox have nominated Andre Marriner for the ice-bucket challenge. Now that's funny.

To be fair Rhodes signed a new contract earlier in the summer...that and, of course British players come at a premium for reasons. Sigh, we should've sold Andy Robertson for more money.

EDIT: And in the weird world of football...http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28889519

Is there a bigger collection of ******s than the people Sky Sports News interview outside stadiums in the day time?

No, not at all. Always embarrassing when David Craig's at St. James' and you know some twat who's not working is going to be asked how Mike Ashley should run his company.

Di Maria has told Real that he wants to leave. If he does end up going to Man Utd then he obviously won't solve the big defensive problem but he could be fun to watch. Plus if he can use both feet then Valencia is going to get mighty familiar with the bench.

I'm always amazed how young Gazza is, he's been in the news for shit like this as long as I remember (really bad after Euro 96). Still only 47. Mental.

Hope he gets the help he needs, like really quickly.

Lee what do you think of your summer signings from what you've seen so far? Particularly Colback?

Seem pretty good, I think De Jong will be our best signing so looking forward to seeing him play. Colback was my Newcastle MOTM against Man City which I was surprised about.

Gazza has had multiple opportunities to get clean. People want him to get better, he's a national treasure. He's had multiple stints in rehab paid for by others, far more than most alcoholics. He doesn't seem strong enough to quit.

The problem for him is when members of the public offer him a drink, or freeload off him encouraging him to have a pint with them.

He looks like he's given up to me. Gazza will be dead in less than 5 years, he isn't going to get better.

Apparently everyone's favourite (or not as it may be) wheeler dealer has offered Gazza a job down at QPR to help coach the youngsters. I get the feeling that could help, but we've seen this situation so often now...

Harry claimed he'd pick him up 5:45am every morning and drive him.

I also love Gary Linekar on twitter just for the 'you shat on pitch' replies.

Gazza lives in a half way house, or at least did, you can't really get much more help than that beyond being in rehab. What he needs isn't a job, or an arm round the shoulder or whatever, it's to be out of the papers and getting help to sort out his mind to move beyond the whole thing.

As it stands, he's going to go the way of George Best.

Yeah like I said earlier, he's been like this for years. When he was up here he was constantly spotted at newsagents 9-10am pissed trying to get served. Some would because he's Gazza and you can't say no to Gazza. Really sad.

Yeah De Jong is a steal. As Spurs have seen in the past couple of years - cheap, quality talent is at a premium at Ajax.

I've always had a soft spot for Colback. He's not going to get rave reviews from the media but he's always consistent. Very solid, good guy as well. I think he'll develop more and more at Newcastle.

Yeah, he's younger than I thought plus he supports the Toon which is always a bonus.

The way this is looking now, I think Chelsea winning the league is more likely than unlikely. Man City vs Liverpool today is probably going to determine just how much momentum each team has in the early stages to determine the opposition to Chelsea in the early stages of the league at least.

Spurs and Swansea I think are going to be safe this season, with the former having a very good chance to finish in the top 5.

FFS it is only 2 games into the season. Too early to rule out any of the pre-season favourites from the title race. Chelsea beating 2 promoted sides in a row isn't saying much except they are winning the bread and butter points. Until one of the other contenders slip up in such games nothing can be concluded.

It is still very much a 4 horse race. Citeh, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea. Citeh is still my personal favourite because they have 4 really good strikers. All the other 3 is relying too much on one main striker.
