a) come back and claim the US championship

b) make it seem that he's not coming back, like a fake article on WWE.com saying that WWE has released Dolph Ziggler or that they have parted ways

c) come back and win the Rumble as a surprise

d) come back and say that he has no interest in winning back the US championship and that he's proven his point and go for something bigger (IC title on RAW, a world title, the Rumble)

e) shock everybody and never come back at all

f) come back and be a leader of a stable (Benjamin & Gable), or any stable in general

g) keep him away from many months and have him come back after his time off

h) other

I think he's gonna come back next Tuesday and challenge Roode for the Rumble to see who the real US champion. Which if you think about it should really make no sense since he's the one who vacated the belt but it wouldn't be the 1st, 2nd or 38th time it's happened in wrestling so whatever.

And there's a very small, very scared part of me that thinks they might have him return at the Rumble and win it.

Win the Rumble. Mahal won the title this year so expect the unexpected.

To be honest though I think he goes to NXT for a bit. The crowd will jizz over him and he can hold the fort down while others come up.

He should go do his horrifically bad standup "comedy" and leave the wrasslin' to people who don't suck at life.

they most definitely should make us believe he isn't coming back by putting out a .com article about his release. Then they should use that article to make sure he never comes back.

That's true. It really makes no sense.

What makes less sense is a match for the "real" champ, because technically, he's no longer a champ.

He should come back, win the Rumble and be the first person to use their Royal Rumble win to fight for the US Title he will claim to have never lost. He will win the Rumble with help from his new stable/faction called Dry Paint. Ziggler, Mahal, Khali and Ascension. He will use his RR win to allow better more ambitious wrestlers fight over the WWE Title.

As much as I like Ziggler, his time is up and maybe a run in the Indies or comedy or both are what's needed for him.

What's sad about Ziggler is that he trully believes in his own hype because once upon a time, he happened to have a near 5-star match with Daniel Bryan.

He never really tries to improve.

Could have kept Dykstra around and paired him up with Ziggler and be a tag team. Maybe then he could do more than constantly oversell moves.

The worst thing to happen for Ziggler was CM Punk walking out.

Ziggler been complaining for years about his treatment and always threatens to leave but never does. Punk proved that if you're truly unhappy then just pack up your shit and go home. Ziggler turned into a bitchy piss ant in comparison since he never had the guts to leave like Punk did.

You know what would be really outta nowhere? Him coming up with Sting as the new Crow. I know people would shit on it, but in time, it could actually be interesting for him.

Yes, because after years of stealing stuff from Shawn Michaels, the best thing for Ziggler would to be a cheap imitation of yet another vastly superior wrestler.

You could apply a similar argument to his kayfabe complaining about entrances and appearances being more important than in-ring ability.

By stealing entrances and still having his outlandish attire and appearance, he never followed through with that either.

Half-assed.
