I don't know if that's the problem, so much as the WWE has saturated so much of its talent in the past three or so months.
The reason that the WWE installed this brand split was to keep certain faces from getting oversaturated on the market. Ultimately, it's part what took down the WCW. WCW went down because so much of it's talent was being displayed for five hours a week, every week, and the people got sick of the faces. I believe, more than anything, that if the WWE plans on really enforcing this whole brand split, that the issue will be remedied.
Unfortunately, that means for the WWE that a certain amount of its wrestlers are going to have to take a break for a little while. Leaving Triple H off of television was by far the smartest decision the WWE could have made. I actually do agree that he could benefit from a heel turn, as he simply plays a heel so much better. His character is not the Family man, nor is it the guardian to the McMahon family. His character which he works best at is a man obsessed with the WWE championship. Maybe you could have him admit once he gets back that he married Steph to get closer to the title. Have him admit it was all a lie, and have him turn heel. Simply enough, Triple H does not work well as a face, but as a heel, he is still one of the best around.
As for John Cena, I'm not sure it was a good idea to have him come off of television the night after what happened to him, but the WWE can still redeem the situation. Have him show signs of having a concussion in the ring, slurred speech or what have you (who knows, maybe his promos will get better). Then, have him face the Big Show at Judgment Day. During the match, John starts to get rubbery legs, and starts to show signs that he is in really bad shape. Big Show gives him that knockout punch, and maybe that puts him out for a little while. While he's in the hospital, build up a face to eventually take the title off of Randy Orton. My hope? Well, I'd love to see it go to this man....
Ok, so MVP is built into a program with Randy Orton, beats him at Summerslam, and John Cena comes out to congratulate MVP... And then attack him.
John Cena comes out the next night, complaining how when he was out, no one cared about him. They turned on him, and they went with the new flavor of the month, MVP. All he does is sacrifice for the fans, and they still continue to boo him wherever he goes. And they all jump on someone elses bandwagon. He tells them that without him, they wouldn't even be here right now, as he is the only true star in the WWE. This builds up to a John Cena/MVP feud, which can have a blow off match at Survivor Series, with Cena winning and portraying a heel champion....
Those are the only two I'd turn at this moment. Otherwise, I'd simply make sure that certain talent doesn't get oversaturated between the two brands. That could ultimately lead to a world of hurt for the WWE.
