Do you think...

DON'T HINDER JINDER
Razor Ramon ever could have made it as a WWE Champion? Concidering he had 4 IC Title Reigns, wouldn't it be logical to have him make it to the top? Your thoughts everyone!

Scott Hall was at his best as Razor Ramon; he was over, his gimmick was awesome and he could wrestle good matches. He should have definitely gotten the WWE strap, at least when you consider certain other champions of that era. Funny to think about that now really, when you see how his career's regressed.

But shouldn't you post these in the old-school board?

Yes I probably should. But I just thought of that now after watching TNA's Victory Road 2004 DVD where Scott Hall and Kevin Nash returned to screw Jeff Hardy out of the NWA title over Jarrett in a ladder match. I just went to the WWE threads because I didn't want to forget my topic of Razor.

I made up a thread a while ago about people that I think would've been considered main event talent if the brand extension had started earlier. This included a lot of "only IC champion" people like Jeff Jarrett, Owen Hart, and Razor Ramon was one of them.

I don't think he would've been huge....but I think he might've been able to pull off a solid main event spot on the B-show for a while.

I'd say no. I remember years ago when WCW was still at its peak that a friend of mine and I were talking about this and we agreed that Razor always seemed to be content just dominating the IC title scene. He could hang with the big boys any day of the week, but it was like he just never wanted to. He dominated the IC belt back when it really meant something and was having some of the best matches on the card. However, just like in WCW, he was always the one on the very end of the main event. He could have been a decent short term champion, but I think its best that he never was.

I'm not so sure he could have made it as a top champion back then. He had the IC title and was a great champ but that was when the belt meant something. The WWE belt also was highly contested and not every guy got it, like it seems now a days. I think he may have been able to pull it off but I guess we never know. He had the talent & charisma I just dont know if he would have every been given a fair shot.

Its a tough call cause even though Hall was over in the WWE back in the mid 90s I dont know who you would say he deserved the belt over. While he was there the only champs were Hogan for a couple months, Bret, Yokozuna and Nash(backlund was for like a week and HBK got the belt like a month before Hall left). So I really dont know where he would fit in because Hart and Nash were both more over than Ramon and Yokozuna was the dominant heel champ that WWF must have been looking for at that time especially during the whole Lex Luger american hero gimmick. The only time I could think of would of been having Bret lose the title to Hall instead of losing it to Backlund like he did. Then see what would transpire after that. But I think Nash would have ultimately took it from him anyway. I just think he was at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Capt. Run-on-Sentence here has a valid point. I personally feel Razor could ONLY have been a WWF Champ as a heel. He was a popular babyface, but he wasn't an uber-over face like Hart, Michaels, Luger, Hogan.

I remember back to the Royal Rumble where Razor Ramon challenged Bret Hart for the WWF Title and put on an AWESOME match. Both men gave 100%, and it showed. This match wasn't a case of "Bret carrying someone." It was two guys with terrific chemistry telling a great story - Ramon a ruthless egotist with gold on his mind, and Bret the underdog tactician who just kept coming back at you and outsmarting you. Razor would have been a fine short-term heel champ...

But then there's Yokozuna. He was the greatest heel in WWF history, and there was no way Razor could compete with it.

Let's also remember - people starting liking Razor for his confidence and attitude. His face turn started with his stunning loss to the 1-2-3 Kid. How do you conceive a WWF Title run after a lose to a hitherto unknown jobber?

A talented wrestler, but no. I don't ever think he'd have been bought as champion, or trusted with it for that matter. It's not a negative reflection on him, just the truth. I enjoy watching him. But his gimmick didn't scream WWE champion. Apart from a few exceptions, you can usually guess if someone will one day be the champion. He just didn't have 'it', whatever you define that to be.

I could see Razor Ramon being champion in the WWE. He put on great matches with Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, and both of those men went on to become WWE Champions. Scott Hall could have easily become champion. I think the best time would have to of been just after Wrestlemania 10 while he was a baby face. He could have feuded with Bret Hart and eventually won the title.

I Say No. He Was A Great Interconintal Champ But He Could Go With Anybody. Like Many Have Said Maybe Short Term Champ But Not Long Term. If So Then A Heel. This Move Was Right He Did Not Ned The Top Belt To Get Over With The Fans Or Hated. He Put On The Bes Matches He Could And Sometimes The Best On The Card
