Do You Always Put Soy Sauce On Your Rice?

When you eat rice, do you always put soy sauce on top of it? I don't know what it is, but, ever since I was little, I couldn't eat plain, white rice without soy sauce...it just tastes so dang good. Of course, if you eat something like Cajun rice or red beans and rice, I definitely don't recommend using soy sauce then.

I dont think I do, in saying that I dont cook my own rice the takeaway does that for me.

When I'm at home, I use butter and sugar.

The only time they have rice while I'm in college is when they make stir fry...I usually get green peppers, onions, mushrooms, with some rice and barbecue sauce. I can't eat it with any other sauce...Maybe teriyaki but that's stretching it a bit.

How is the food at your school? In my undergrad days, it was passable, and it was definitely worthwhile to have a meal plan so I didn't have to worry about cooking. Something tells me the food might be better at your school, as it is much larger.

It's great....They serve your usual cheeseburgers, quesadillas, pizza, salads, hot dogs, chicken, lasagna, etc.

I especially love Sunday brunch...I get an omelet with mushrooms, sausage, cheese, green peppers and onions, a couple of pancakes, pineapple glazed ham, and fried chicken. I don't have a meal plan so it costs me $10 but it's worth it.

The food court in the student union is ok...We have a Mexican place, pizza place, Chick-Fil-A, burger place and this eatery called Bleecker Street where you can get sandwiches and whatnot.

I do not. I do add the sachet of Soy Sauce provided to a Pot Noodle. I once got two in a single pot! It was the student's equivalent of a double yolker egg.

I really want some matzah ball soup after you mentioned Pot Noodle...even though I have no idea what that is...maybe the equivalent of Cup Noodles/Ramen in Britain?

Yeah, I've never been able to eat just plain rice by itself. Why not just stick some curry sauce on the top of it. Curry and Rice are the business.

the quantities aren't mega big, but they are atainable within a bottle of the stuff a week or something.

I'll take this as a no.

I'm liking the new slang. Back in my day, when I found something to be to my liking, I called it "phat," "the bomb," "the shit," or "the tits." Man, how times are a changing!

I looked up at a certain post, and thought green peppers? :wtf:? Then I realised. you call capsicums Peppers don't you?
