I was browsing the net and came across an article reporting on a little snippet of an interview The Bella Twins gave to WWE Magazine. As part of an interview, The Bella Twins are asked if they'd be in favor of WWE introducing tag team championships to the Diva Division:
Nikki Bella: "We've been begging to get that done for years! It'd be a great chance to see what us girls could come up with. New finishers, new names, new gear. We're all so talented and creative and it'd be great to show that in a new way."
Brie Bella: "Girls gang up on girls. It's life. We sit down, we gossip, we group together naturally. Why not bring a little bit more of that aspect to WWE?"
This doesn't automatically mean that WWE is going to create a tag team championship for the Divas, but you have to at least wonder. Otherwise, why would WWE's own magazine pose the question in the first place if there wasn't a possibility?
I personally hope they don't go this route because I just don't have high hopes for it. While things have gotten significantly better as far as Diva matches and their general relevance, I don't think they've progressed to the point where a Diva Tag Team Division is warranted or needed. The tag teams, currently, would be Cameron & Naomi, The Bella Twins, AJ & Tamina and there are reports that Natalya & Emma have been paired at a number of recent house shows. I don't think the division is strong enough or has enough consistently strong and/or interesting workers at this point. I think there need to be a few more Divas on the roster who actually bring something to the table beyond looking hot in skimpy outfits. At this point, Aksana, Rosa Mendes & Eva Marie are dead weight who should either be sent down to NXT for some much needed training or released altogether to make room for other Divas. There's a big chance that the division would quickly devolve into something that exists just for the sake of taking up some TV time. After all, that's what happened to the women's tag team picture in TNA, though there were very few Knockout tag teams to begin with.
