Did we witness the beginning of the end for The Shield on Raw

On Raw there was multiple things that lead me to believe the days of the Shield are numbered

1. Real Americans being lined up as main heel challengers for tag titles with there wins over Rhodes brothers. I think they are set to take the Shields place as the Rhodes main challengers

2. Wyatts attacking main event superstars. I think it is telling that the Wyatt's attacked Bryan not the Shield and then the attack on Punk is just copying everything the Shield did. I think WWE would only give them this push if the Shield are going to be out of the way.

3. In the Shields promo there was obvious signs of tension when Ambrose was hyping himself up

4. After they won the tag match there celebration wasn't as much as usual. I didn't see them do the thing where they put there fists together. There wasn't any form of group celebration

I am not sure how they will do it but I think we witnessed the first sign of the Shield splitting. Your thoughts on the potential break or am I just reading too much into nothing

I kinda got the same feeling during Ambrose's promo, calling himself the baddest man on the planet. However, back when they had that battle royal that RVD won to determine the #1 contender to US Title, he hyped himself up pretty well then too. I remember him cutting a promo with Reigns and Rollins in the background and he said something to the effect of, "Unless Andre the Giant's ghost is in this battle royal I ain't losing at SummerSlam. Believe that and believe in The Shield!"

To answer your question, I think slowly but surely we will see them all have disagreements until it's a full-blown split. I've said all along they would be opponents at WrestleMania in a triple threat match. Maybe for the US Title, maybe not. I just don't know who turns face; Rollins, Reigns, or both. Tough call there. If I had to guess I'd say at least Reigns because he has the highest probability to be in WWE/World Title matches down the road with his look fitting Vince's standard and his relation to The Rock certainly won't hurt.

I also felt that we were seeing the initial cracks in the cohesion of the shield. It will probably be a slow process as they do still have a good run as the enforcers of HHH and Stephanie. Granted Stephanie did get control of Kane last night so that added to the power base but I think the Shield still has mileage in them prior to a break up. It will be interesting to see the tension build in the group before it implodes. We could see them turn on each other at the Royal Rumble as they could take a every man for himself approach to the match in the quest for a world title shot.

Askane's first 2 points makes me think this is either setting up for a Shield breakup or a Shield war with the Wyatt Family. The Wyatts have definitely taken over as the Corporate enforcers and I haven't seen much Corporation support of the Shield lately during their issues with the Rhodes/Big E Langston. The tag team point comes in because it takes them out of the tag picture freeing focus for a program with the Shield. Wouldn't be surprised if Ambrose loses the US belt soon.

Shield vs Wyatts could make for an excellent program and I think the WWE will want to capitalize on that first, before breaking up the Shield.

It won't be corporate for the Wyatts... someone else came up with the idea of AJ being Abigail and that to me makes total sense... but I can see the E bringing in someone like Kevin Sullivan to be the head of the Wyatts (he was around Rotundo at the time Bray would have been born, so they could use the "real father" angle).

As for the Shield, the writing was on the wall when they made points of their seperate matches/entrances at HIAC. Ambrose is on a different path and I can see Reigns and Rollins not caring enough to bail him out of the Big E. situation.

The Shield was about Ambrose getting over, then Reigns and Rollins if he could as a bonus. As it stands, Ambrose is set, he can go it alone and not have any issues. Reigns and Rollins could continue to team for a bit under a different moniker/gimmick or go solo but be at the whims of Vince. The Wyatts are not the same, they want Bray over at all costs. Harper is a bonus/Kane replacement for the future and Rowan is probably surplus.

When you look at it coldly you currently have Rowan, Harper AND Reigns all basically vying for the same spot. So far Reigns has it on experience and Rock connection but Harper is quickly catching up and catching on. Now what I do see unfolding is Wyatts & Ambrose vs Punk Bryan Reigns and Rollins at Survivor Series, that does make sense.

I think the Wyatt's and The Shield must wage war before The SHield officially break-up. WWE missed the boat on Nexus and Corre feuding except at the Royal Rumble that year. WWE is doing the right thing. When The Wyatt's and The Shield first come face-to-face THAT may be the moment of the year. Best way for that to happen started last night when the Wyatt's began doing what the SHield have made a living off of: Attacking top superstars. HHH & Steph will begin to chastise the Shield and they will become renegades again against the Corporate muscle: the eerily, strange Wyatt Family.

The seeds were definitely planted, personally I'd rather they broke up after Mania to create a big fresh angle in what is always a tough period for WWE, but it looks like they are going early. I just hope they do a slow burn and at least have the blow-off at WrestleMania.

It seems a shame to split them before they have taken out and feuded with Punk, the only top guy they haven't attacked, and before the potential match-up with the Wyatt's, but oh well.

I still think The Shield have time to run and the WWE certainly shouldn't be thinking of splitting them up. I would probably say after Mania is when they should split and go on to have great individual careers. If they really wanted to make something significant out of Ambrose's promo then a triple threat at WM30 would be a great move. These three being allowed to have a great match and thereafter move in their separate ways. They have to split - that is obvious - but I don't think it is upcoming.

I definitely think that the seeds of a Shield split were planted on Raw, however, I don't think that it's anything that will happen any time soon.

I see them continuing to be a unit with something like what happened on Raw happening here and there until it starts happening all of the time and then they will split. Like most people have said, probably by WrestleMania 30 or maybe even after WrestleMania. The Shield split would be a perfect storyline for next summer and it's something that the WWE would be able to get a lot of mileage out of. It could last 3 or 4 PPV's easy.

It's definitely going to happen but not soon.
