Did We Just Witness Kurt Angle's Last Match?

It's Damn Real!

The undisputed, undefeated TNA &
After being hit with a steel chair and being rolled up for a quick pin loss to Jarrett tonight at Against All Odds, Kurt Angle removed his boots and set them down in the ring, walking out while Taz "ominously" noted that mean Angle "was done".

We saw a retirement angle with Kurt not too long back, and as a result of the loss Angle will "give away" his ex-wife Karen to Jeff when the couple renew their vows soon, but did we honestly just witness Kurt Angle's last match in TNA? Why or why not?

Somehow I doubt we've really seen his last match- although personally, I wouldn't shed a tear if it was- at least in TNA. Maybe Angle's finally realized that enough is enough and it's time to vacate the sinking ship.

Is he really going to retire? Who knows? He's been going for a long time and after everything that's transpired as of late- especially this horrendous "storyline" being shoved down everyone's throats (and yes, I actually DID stomach some of those segments- and afterwards lamenting that those were *insert number of minutes* that I'll never be able to get back) I wouldn't blame him if he did go. If anyone's earned the right to retire, it's Angle.

Only if he does, I'd much prefer he does it the right way- back in the E giving Russo, Bischoff, Hogan and Dixie the Stone Cold salute live on national television.

Not even a marginal chance, kayfabe or legitimately, was that Kurt Angle's last match. The whole leaving the boots in the ring things was a nice touch after a pretty good match with a strange finish, but that's absolutely not going to Angle's last TNA match let alone the last match of his entire career.

Not like kayfabe retirements have ever meant anything in the business, not like Angle didn't already retire a few months ago...oh wait.

Not a chance. I wish that TNA would stop all the retirement shit that they've been doing with Kurt Angle. It feels like it's gone on forever and I don't believe that anybody is legitimately buying into it.

Wherever Kurt Angle ultimately retires, whether it be TNA or WWE or wherever, he's going to get a big send off. Dixie Carter worships the ground that Angle walks on and has from the moment he signed his first TNA contract. If possible, she'd book a ticker tape parade through downtown New York City for Angle's retirement if it's what he wanted.

Yeah we all know Angle will wrestle again and that what he did at the end of the match meant nothing whats so ever. And no Angle will not leave TNA and go back to the WWE, he is staying in TNA unless some stuff happens that would piss him off.

Kurt Anglez is gonz from TNAz?!

'Course not. He picked his smelly boots up 3 minutes after it was all done. I'm tired of the "Angle is gone" crap. He fucking isn't. You just SOMEHOW found a way to explain how he can come back after he retired himself basically, and now you do it again?

Oh TNAz, youz so silly.

If this was part of the storyline it was plain stupid, they retired him at 10-10-10 and now out of no where he retires again. First of all when a wrestler leaves his boots in the middle of the ring he is done with being a active wrestler or with that company its tradition, he can move to another promotion but if he returns to TNA after what he did tonight they will be spitting in the face of tradition. And I don't see Kurt spitting on history and tradition, if he was really in it for the money he would had left TNA when his 1st contract was up, and we know WWE would had received back with open arms.

Nah Angle won't retire at least i don't think so. I think this is part on the storyline with jeff jarrett, unless somthing really pissed him off and he decided to quit and walk out on the spot. But until we know for sure and somebody with a credible source ( and by that i mean somebody in the company) says whats going on we have to assume this is kayfabe.

didnt watch the PPV but just reading about Kurt losing again to Jeff Jarrett pisses me off...Angle is 1000000000000000000000xs better than Jarrett...I hope he leaves i always thought Angle was one of those wrestlers too good for TNA...should go back to WWE in some sort of capacity...wrestle for a little bit, go to some GM position and occasionally wrestle...after that he can go into a behind the scenes position in WWE...maybe scout or a trainer...trainer on tough enough?

odds makers from PTI.
I say 0% chance. this just continues things.
you had to know Angle was going to lose this match. if Kurt won, he got the kids and then what? now he will walk Karen down the isle at the March 3 Impact, and something will happen.
I wouldn't even be surprised if you don't see Kurt at all next Impact. Jarrett will be on the mic saying he won and Kurt has to show up on March 3rd.

Yeah we all know Angle will wrestle again and that what he did at the end of the match meant nothing whats so ever. And no Angle will not leave TNA and go back to the WWE, he is staying in TNA unless some stuff happens that would piss him off.

Leaving your boots in the middle of the ring is a traditional retirement in any promotion its tradition if he comes back and wrestle in a TNA ring he and TNA will be spitting in the face of history and tradition. He can wrestle in another promotion and then come back but if he don't its wrong .

This is truly getting old... TNA needs to get off of this. Especially with an over the hill, idiot, such as Jeff Jarrett. If Kurt ever were gonna retire, hopefully he would bow out to a much more deserving guy and not Jarrett.

That would definitely be a huge zit on the ass of Kurt's career. I think they might have Kurt struggle with some confidence issues between now and that March 3rd "event"... TNA is really trying to build drama in this angle with Kurt & Jeff. I have said before, I believe they are wasting Kurt with this.

Kurt Angle is literally TNA's biggest star. Having him in a feud with a washed up, loser like Jarrett is just dumb.

I don't want to come across as a TNA hater because I honestly really want to love TNA! They have tons of great wrestlers but they keep doing stupid shit like this that just boggles my mind too much. Regardless how this plays out, its idiotic. If this was Angle's last match or at least last match in TNA, why wouldn't they promote the hell out of it to milk the most out of it? Then the more likely scenario that this is another fake retirement story that will see Angle triumphantly return in a few weeks or months, its stupid as well. They just did this a few months ago, so why do it again? :S

I will give them credit, they are at least getting us talking and wondering what will happen with him. But, still. Doesn't make me want to watch and like people have said, no one is buying it.

I think the only reason they are doing this and stretching it out is because it's personal with Jarrett now being with Kurt's ex wife.
heel wins, heel wins, heel wins, face finally wins and everyone is so happy!

i dont know how much of his personal values and morals have changed over the years, but i wouldnt doubt it if he left tna for the wwe again. if u recall, he straight turned down the real ECW because of their "raunchy" storylines and so forth. from what ive heard from some of the posters on here, im assuming that tna isnt that different from the old ecw and if that is the case, maybe angle is thinking that a certain pg rating might be right up his alley. so ya never know, hopefully it is his last match......there at least.

I couldve told you Jarrett was winning after reading the Impact spoilers a week ago. I just hope the wedding thing isnt some 20 minute crap. I think Jarrett is a good heel, but I could care less of him as a wrestler. As far as his last match, I think itll be in the summer, IF he leaves TNA, against styles or someone else in a huge match. I just want this stupid storyline over with.

first this was in no way angles last match, when he retires, its gonna be a HUGE deal. Im thinking something along the lines of Flairs wwe send off. second, angle just plain deserves a better storyline to go out on. as much as i try to like TNA they make it so damn hard. why it was booked that if kurt won he would get his kids is beyond me. that right there was like a neon sign saying Angle would lose tonight. dont know who's familiar with child support and custody issues but its a legal matter. a judge decides who is awarded custody, you cant just say "thanks but no thanks your honor, instead of the legal process we'er gonna let a cage match decide this one". god TNA, you are soooo stupid at times

No way, no chance in hell.

I'm sick of these teases from Kurt Angle that he's done. If I remember correctly, there was a match where it was Kurt vs AJ and I think it might have been flair who helped AJ screw Angle and Hogan came out to ring side to try and calm him down and Angle was screaming, I can go back to WWE, screw you Hogan, he started flipping out and smashed a chair into the entrance. Making it look like he got legitimately screwed and was going. It was not long after Bret came back.

And then the obvious retirement match he lost.

When it comes time for him to legitimately retire from wrestling for good, I know I'm not going to believe it since we've seen it teased before a few times.

I still hate you for saying it was your birthday and making me wish you happy birthday for nothing, don't expect to get one on your actual birthday, but When you're right you're right,

This happens all the time and it will lead up to some big story line, (well I can hope right) but He is far from retiring. It's like he is trying to make a screw job angle. as if he didn't already know that he was going to be losing that match. If he had a problem with the out come he would of boycotted it or disagreed with it in the first place, not wait until he finished the match, lost and then made a scene. It was a good way to end a match and it will obviously lead to something happened at the wedding. I mean when ever has a wedding on a scripted tv show ever went normally without some kind of drama happening.

He will ruin the wedding somehow and have another match against Jeff.

As some posters said, it would be disgraceful to do this in TNA. Its pretty much spitting on TNA to come back... and maybe that is the point of what angle is doing. Angle just got royally screwed by TNA (jarrett, hogan, bischoff). So maybe this is his way of disgracing TNA. IDK, but i think the match was booked horribly. If this is angle's last match, then i truly feel sorry for him and all his big fans. Angle deserves more.

How many retirement angles have we seen in the past year??? IDR, I hope you're just creating conversation, because as much as I disagree with your particular taste in wrestling, I thought you were a bit more on the ball with how the classic storylines are run.

I just hope that Angle at least misses an Impact to sell this angle, unlike Cena's 'retirement' a couple months ago.

I think X said everything that is need to be said right here.

Angle will more than likely retire at a Wrestlemania at some point in the future, but if he was to retire in TNA it would be at the biggest show of the year in a much more important storyline than this. Kurt Angle is TNA's biggest wrestler, there is no way his last match would be anything other than the main event in the company's premier show.

I still think we will see Kurt go out in style in the WWE though, he deserves that for all he has done in the business. This is just a pointless end to a pointless storyline that I hope is done.

Agreed again, these retirement angles just make an ACTUAL retirement unbelievable when it happens, and prevents the audience from actually believing it when it genuinely a wrestlers last match..

And I think you are right about Dixie. She would probably give Angle a blowjob in the ring if he demanded one. She would do anything for him

If it was Angle's last match, then TNA just shit on everything that he accomplished while he was there, by having him go out that way, in a quick loss to Jeff fucking Jarrett, a guy who on his best day, isn't even half as good in the ring as Angle is on his worst day.

With that being said, no fucking way Angle is done. If he were retiring for real, with what he accomplished, he wouldn't go out like that. I could see him losing an iron man type match against a younger wrestler, to put him over big time, but I just cannot see his retirement match being against Jarrett. This is just a continuation of their current feud, probably with Angle taking a little time off for legit injuries before seeking revenge. Within two months, Kurt Angle will be back on TNA TV full time.

Lord I hope not...he's one of the few reasons I watch TNA.....and I know it's part of a storyline (I hope anyway), ---but I will say this, it's at least intriguing enough to wonder and follow it....even if it does mean I have to hear Jarrett in it, or be a part of it.
