Desmond Wolfe - THE Commish

Karilas

Cathedra mea, regulae meae.
Ey up peeps, I've just today been trying to catch up on the last month or so of TNA Xplosion. I started with May 17th, fairly standard fare, although I was certainly pleased by the addition of the Spin Cycle to the show format, as firstly I enjoy the Spin Cycle episodes, secondly it's about damn time they mic'd that show up properly!

Anyhoo, the point of this thread, is thus on the May 24th episode, Desmond Wolfe was appointed the Xplosion Commissioner, which I was quite pleased with, as it showed at least an intention to provide some actual content for Xplosion, which, for the last year has essentially been an Impact recap show with one or two short matches.

Right now I had to start this thread because I'm literally less than two minutes into the May 31st Xplosion and I'm already convinced that in Desmond Wolfe they have the perfect man for the job. I rate Nigel McGuinness as a performer both in the ring and on the stick, although I often feel his rhyming slang can seem a bit forced, but so far in a short interview with Robbie E and Cookie he's managed to make me laugh out loud a few times with his incredibly sneaky British insults, at least two of which passed by the duo completely unnoticed, for instance he essentially got away with calling Robbie E a cunt. Sly ol' dog.

Basically it boils down to this...

What do you all think of Desmond Wolfe in general, what do you think of him as Xplosion Commissioner and how do you feel about the current direction of Xplosion?

Wolfe has always been great. I didn't like him in the beginning but look back at the fued he had with Angle, it was pretty good. I haven't taken a look at Xplosion as of yet but I'm sure he gave it a facelift.

Basically Xplosion hasn't changed much, but now they seem to have a fairly solid format to it, The last three have all featured a bit of face time for Desmond, either in the ring with a mic, backstage interviewing or out joining JB and Taz on the desk. In addition they've generally had one match from the Xplosion Championship Challenge, the most recent SpinCycle episode [which they've finally started levelling properly], a match and some recap from Impact and a classic PPV encounter. Personally I'd prefer it if they had two or more Xplosion matches, but it still feels like it's been a step in the right direction.
