Democrats vs Republicans (and the media too)

Have you ever noticed the amount of crap that is on TV all the time concerning Democrats vs Republicans?

I'm British and I live in the UK so I don't usually get to watch a lot of US TV but when I do, I honestly can't believe the pandering that is done by both sides. For the republicans, FOX news is definitely the main offender. I have watched Youtube video after Youtube video all about FOX news and especially that Shrew of woman, the vile, the vicious Ann Coulter. This woman is an idiot. Pure and simple. Generally though, the US media are guilty of doing this sort of thing.

For the Democrats, I would argue that show such as The Colbert Report and the Daily Show sympathize more with the democrats. I should make it clear that I am what is called a floating voter in Britain. That is, I vote for who ever I feel will do the best job at the time of the election. However, I do watch a lot of the shows that have been mentioned and I am constantly taken aback by what it obvious and clear pandering to the audiences for there support.

My question is what do you guys think about the way politicians conduct themselves and also how important do you think the media is in decided the way an election will go? Also, I would very much like this thread to be as anti-Ann Coulter as possible to wire right in.

I am a registered Republican. I say that so my hatred of Ann Coulter should carry a bit more weight.

In all honesty, saying Fox is solely for Republicans is nonsense. Liberal universities such as George Washington and the ultra left wing Media Matters have both investigated Fox's fair and balanced claim - and found that Fox's news reporting is indeed fair and balanced. Their Editorials (O'Reilly and Hannity) do sympathize with Republicans, but the news is the news, and Fox reports facts.

MSNBC does not have news shows. ALl they do is editorialize in favor of Obama. CNN is even worse. Media Matters found that these networks show a legitimate slant in news coverage, and that these networks ignored every negative Obama story during the election.

The problem in America is that the media is allowed to annoint the President. If you watched any coverage of this election, you could see NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, and ABC openly pulling for Obama, while Fox was right down the middle. They were quick to point out that Obama's best friends are racists (Rev. Wright) and terrorists (Ayers) but were just as quick to call McCain an idiot for adding Sarah Palin to the ticket. MSNBC made jokes and snide comments about Palin, because they have little to no journalistic ability, but, hey, they're funny, so that's all that matters. Fox, the Republican shill network according to you, broke stories about Bush that involved Drunk Driving and cocaine during the 2000 election, while MSNBC and CNN refused to mention that Obama's campaign money and political jumping off were provided by a man who bombed the US capitol. But hey, whatever, look where it got them. The idiot they got elected is doing a great job of destroying America, and they look even less legitimate than before.

As I say, I don't fully recognize all of the news channels etc but what I have seen is that FOX seems to have Republican sympathies that's all. I also agree that MSNBC does have Democratic tendencies.

Also, sorry for the misunderstanding, I was calling Ann Coulter shril. Not FOX as a whole
