Daniel Bryan's "Release" - The Spam Version

I'm still working on a 'work until proven shoot' platform. Bryan's official twitter (which last time I checked was BryanDanielson (with no numbers afterwards)) would certainly count as proof either way. As would what happens on Raw.

He's looking for indy bookings and his friends on the indy scene are being told it's legit. Maybe it's time to give up, Remix. I don't like paying for the DVDs either, but we'll just have to live with it.

Does that comply with a 90 day no-compete clause? Or does that even apply, given the nature of his release? I'm reminded of Anderson's release last year in that it wasn't at the end of a contract, and he was still prevented from working for 90 days.

Do people realise that the 90 days no complete cause is just from TV?

Or from anything released in that time. I'm not sure if that means nothing he does int he next 90 days can be released or if nothing can be released in the next 90 days.

You know that it's still easily possible for that to be part of a big work?

If it is a work, it is the greatest ever work ever created.

So I'm leaning towards real. It would be way to complex to trick/fill in indy workers, spread false rumors about the choke, remove videos about the choke, for a storyline that doesn't make that much sense, Daniel didn't have a contract/if he does have some mythical contract then why is he the only guy fired.

Why do all that, it's arguable it would lower ratings, not increase them from the hype they got at the end of last week. And in reality, it's not as if Vince gives a shit about Dixies announcement.

No, not really. Here's how it's done simply.

Vince, Danielson, Gerwitz (Raw head writer) and maybe Stephanie are in Vince's private office.

Vince: I have an idea. We're going to get EVERYONE believing that Danielson was fired. You keep this 100% secret. If I hear ANYONE saying anything about this, you're all fired. *insert plan here*

Vince: God damn it Bryan, if just one, one person doesn't believe your fired, and thinks your not fired, god help me I'll fire you faster than you can tweet I'm not fird!!!!

K, I'll play along.

Do you think the WWE cares enough about a) getting Danielson over and b) swerving the IWC to justify lying to everyone who works in their office (which reports indicate include the marketing department)?

I don't buy that for a minute. Especially the second part. The day Vince concedes that we matter is the day hell freezes over. That really clinches it for me.

Do I think he'll be back? Of course. Everyone was over the moon about working with him and the angle itself until someone stepped in. Danielson takes the bullet this time like a good soldier and gets to milk some of his best in the world hype for a few months, being the highest paid indy worker around and bragging about spitting on John Cena. When he comes back in a few months, what he did for the team won't be forgotten if he takes the fall with grace.

Of course when Danielson comes back, both sides will think it validates their argument, so I'm not sure why I'm bothering.

Only the internet and the people who watched NXT care. The second Vince thinks they're important enough to justify lying to everyone in the office, hell freezes over.

I'd love to be proven wrong. But I'm almost certain I won't be.

It's Vince. He thought the XFL was a good idea, made Mabel top face and fucked up the Invasion.

Why are you treating him like a sane human being?

He's nothing if not consistent. I mean he tried to make himself something other than a wrestling guy, pushed a really big fellow, and booked his guys over a bunch of outsiders. That's him. Caring enough to work the internet this hard? That's not him.

He's found a gem in internet darling Punk. He's mentioned the IWC many times lately in broadcasts. He's recently been embracing Twitter. After we get a big curve like Monday, the last thing I'd be expecting is another curve. that makes it perfect.

Yes, and he's struck gold with an internet guy in Punk. Why not try another one?

Punk had to work very hard to get the stink of Paul Heyman and the minor leagues off of him in the eyes of many. I don't see them bringing in the far blander and shorter Danielson and it being a different story (sans Heyman).

The IWC's been mentioned a show that only hardcore, can't-get-enough wrestling fans watch. I don't think it's that big of a deal.

The last point is a good one, but after years of Vince's BS, I don't have the faith.

I want to believe. So badly. Really.

If Vince truly held that much stock in Punk he would have moved him to RAW instead of Jericho?

Thing is Jericho has more star power now, which is what Vince wanted on Raw. Jericho is 39, Punk is 31. Punk has a lot more time in him than Jericho so Vince would want to get what he could out of Jericho now.
