Daniel Bryan Update: He Has Concussion Issues

Uncle Sam

Rear Naked Bloke
Just to clarify everything, Bryan’s problem is concussion related stemming from his match with Sheamus on the Smackdown tapings right after Mania. Many people in wrestling have known this for some time and we were told it as soon as he got sent home from the European tour. For whatever reason, at that point a bunch of denials were made because evidently WWE wanted that under wraps. The issue is career threatening at this point.

Via the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, via Reddit.

That sinking feeling in my gut, the one that says I might have been there in the O2 to witness his last ever wrestling match: getting stronger.

I won't say I'm the biggest Bryan fan out there, but when a guy is universally loved in 2015 (and not in a Zack Ryder way), he has to be doing something right. It would be awful if this were it for him.

WWE is responsible for the world's best wrestler of the last decade being forced to retire.
It has no regard for its talents' safety.
USA network and Syfy should pull the plug off WWE immediately.
Vince is a dumb bitch that got the company from his daddy, and doesn't know anything about wrestling.
He should either sell the company to someone that isn't clueless like him, or simply let it die in peace.
#LOLWWE

Did I miss anything?

This sucks.. but concussions aren't a serious issue. He should just work through it like a man. Hell I understand why the company likes Cena so much now; he wrestles through injuries and concussions (when's the last time he took a break due to concussion).. so i'll give Cena credit for that.. most of the roster acts like total whusses nowadays.

But seriously how can a concussion be career-threatening? At worst it takes you out for a month or two, then you get back in the ring. It doesn't have permanent effects like an injured joint would have.

You are remarkably stupid.

You should consider playing blindfolded in traffic.

Ha, he would only get a concussion and be out for a month or two. No big deal. If he suffers a joint injury, it can be life-threatening, but otherwise there's nothing to worry about.

Right? Surely your post was satirical.

No it wasnt. When was the last time someone had to retire due to concussion issues? Most forced retirements are caused by neck injuries (look at Stone Cold, Edge, and i can defintiely see it coming for Kurt Angle with his neck issues), back injuries (HBK), stroke (Bret Hart), you get the point.. concussions are a one time deal.. Orton has been wrestling with 7 or more concussions in his career and hes fine so far. Ziggler is doing fine right now despite his concussion history.. so point is that concussions arent career-threatening. I can't see it taking DB out for that long unless he is as fragile as the WWE thinks he is. I would actually consider this slightly positive news, at least its not a neck injury. If DB is this fragile that he has to retire due to a mere concussion then he shouldnt be wrestling in the first place

Corey Graves retired due to concussions. So have NFL players (http://edition.cnn.com/2015/03/17/football/chris-borland-retirement-nfl-concussions/) and pro hockey players (http://www.pennlive.com/hersheybears/index.ssf/2015/06/concussion_issues_force_hershe.html).

This may be a shock, but brain injuries are a big deal, dumbass.

Bret hart's seizure was caused by concussions.

To answer you

Christian
Corey graves
chris Benoit
Bret hart

And numerous players in the nfl.

Just off the top if my head.

Concussions are the leading concern of any high impact sport in the year 2015. Appearing to be totally aloof to that makes you seem very foolish and not to be taken seriously.

I know he is he who will not be named in WWE but does Chris Benoit ring any bells to you, genius? If there's a pile up of concussions that might cause brain damage, yeah. Check it the fuck out and take precaution. They are life threatening. Not just to the person affected either. Idiot.

Sheamus got Bryan out and out, and he got the Money in the Bank title?

I realize it wasn't intentional, but for as petty as this company's management is, you'd think they'd have buried him down in the mid-card.

concussions are a one time deal..

One of many laughable statements. Medical research has proven that once you have more than once, you are very susceptible to getting many more. The general rule for the majority of major sports now is "3 and out"

Ziggler is doing fine right now despite his concussion history..

The main reason the WWE will not push Ziggler other than the fact he sucks is his concussion history. He one, two at absolute most from never wrestling again. This has been covered thoroughly.

Well to think that brain injuries are serious, one first has to make use of their brains.

Since this Crocker kid doesn't seem to have that problem, I can see why he doesn't think a brain injury is a big deal at all.

How can a wrestling fan of all people not begin to understand how serious concussions are? Honestly one of the stupidest posts I've seen on here.

I've seen someone get a concussion and it is freaking scary. My brother got one after he fell down playing basketball and he all of a sudden became like a broken record. He kept asking where am I, what day is it, what year is it and if he was allowed to take showers. He repeated that for basically the rest of the day. I'm frankly shocked that you can even recover from a concussion in the first place.

Punk stated in an interview that he suffered 37 concussions throughout his whole wrestling career. Now he's training for UFC. Ziggler will be fine in terms of health.. stop overreacting, he's had what, two concussions his entire career? That's nothing compared to Punk who is now training for REAL fighting..

Also look at Orton; he's suffered so many concussions he had to take time off due to.. hes like 15 years into his career and still going strong. Still got a lot left in the tank despite his concussions. His last concussion was two years ago. So you're theory of "once you suffer one, you're more likely to suffer another" is false

Um, you kinda just proved his theory correct.

Are you a professional ****** or just a really gifted amateur?
