CWA Announces Alliance With NWA

Puertorican wrestling promotion CWA announced this past monday that they have come to a working agreement with the NWA.

Announced following their weekly Facebook Live wrestling series 'Accion Vibrante', CWA, a promotion based in Comerio, Puerto Rico, made the announcement via social media as well as announcing an upcoming title defense for current NWA World's Heavyweight Champion Nick Aldis.

Scheduled for their major event 'Christmas Showdown', Nick Aldis will defend the NWA World's Heavyweight Championship against former WWE Superstar 'Bad-Ass' Billy Gunn. This event looks to be the biggest of the local wrestling scene since the fall of former major promotion International Wrestling Association (dubbed by many as the Post-IWA Era) as it will bring in a large sum of independant wrestlers from around the world for a special event in the Puerto Rico Convension Center. The line-up is the following:

The marquee match of the international event will feature the two top stars of the country from two different eras. ​

1. Clash of Generations: "El Mesias" Ricky Banderas (aka Mil Muertes) vs WWL Champion Mecha Wolf (aka Mr. 450)
2. NWA World's Heavyweight Championship: Nick Aldis (c) vs "Bad-Ass" Billy Gunn
3. Impact vs ROH: Matt Sydal vs Marty Scurll
4. Inaugural CWA Women's Championship: Zeuxis vs Impact Knockout's Champion Tessa Blanchard
5. "Showman" Mike Nice vs Colt Cabana
6. DJZ & Super Crazy among other international stars are also slated.

While no confirmation has been given, it seems very likely that the title match between Aldis and Billy Gunn will be documented for the NWA's Youtube series '10 Pounds Of Gold'.
