Ronaldo realises Real Madrid dream
Cristiano Ronaldo admitted he had realised a dream as the world's most expensive footballer was paraded by Real Madrid at a packed Santiago Bernabeu.
The £80million capture from Manchester United was given the warmest of welcomes by Real's legion of fans who were out in force for their latest 'galactico'.
The Portugal international spent the past six seasons with the Red Devils after joining from Sporting and helping the Old Trafford side win no less than eight major trophies.
The 24-year-old could barely contain his excitement at joining the Liga giants, after finally signing for Los Merengues.
"I am just so happy to be here," said Ronaldo.
"For me, I have made my childhood dream a reality, which was nothing less than playing for Real Madrid.
"I didn't expect a jam-packed stadium - this is truly impressive."
So he's finally confirmed the move. He's stated numerous times that he wanted to play for Madrid, and now he's got his chance. How's he going to do? That's what this thread is about.
In my opinion, he'll be even better in Spain. My reason, the league is suited to Ronaldo perfectly. There's lots of time on the ball, unlike England. The referees protect the players more, which Ronaldo will love, unlike England. The league is not as physical, which Ronaldo will love. All the signs are there that it's perfect for him. He'll be Madrid's main man, and that's what he loves.
