Countdown to WWE PPV's?

Dark Match Jobber
I don't know about you guys but when I watch the UFC countdown shows, it makes me want to see the fights even more. The fact that they show how they've been training and everything that leads up to the fight is amazing. So I was wondering if anybody thought this would be a good idea for WWE PPV's. They should probably only cover the main 2 or 3 matches like the UFC does. They can show the segments on RAW, SD, and ECW that lead up to the match. They can also have the superstars talk about the match too. This could make people look forward to the matches more and then can air it right after RAW on the shows before a PPV.

I like the idea of it. There should be countdown shows for all the PPV's but for Summerslam and WrestleMania, there could be bigger countdown shows like the "Mania of WrestleMania" thing they had back at WM 19. It could definitely be a huge boost in PPV buys.

Um.. no

This is wrestling and they've taken that approach along with other things. It's honestly boring to JUST do that and in wrestling you get many ways to build up a match

if anything it should go back to how every match had a highlight video before it back in the late 90's on PPVs like Unforgiven and stuff

Anyway I find it boring cause it's the same shit, they just talk, and so what they show them training, hell, I can do push ups and run my mouth about a school lot fight and it's the same thing

I'm not into MMA, plus I'd rather watch Boxing and I'm not into that

I ONLY watched Brock a few times and Lashley once cause they were wrestlers

Ken too

but I dont really prefer it and after a while I'm surprise ppl cant get bored with it

WWE is always talked about, but atleast they give more variety than watching sports like Football or Basketball

how many ways do you hype up a game? you dont have any Elimination Chamber Basketball matches so it's the SAME game routine

so I think Pro-Wrestling is better than watching a sport or a real fight

and before you say it's real, just think about this

real things can go wrong in wrestling and besides..

staged fights are ALWAYS better than real fights cause real fights are crappy 99% of the time! it's DAMN true

and you all know it

a Jet Li fight scene in a movie is better than a street fight any day

As far as the comments in Bold, I want to challenge you on something. I have heard a lot of complaints from numerous fans online about these pre-match videos ... and how much time they take away from the PPV's.

Before this year's Mania, being the dork that I am, I actually put together a Wrestlemania format script and timed everything ... from the show open, to each of the entrances (even giving guys like Taker longer entrance times ... just to give you an idea of the detail that went into it), time for each of the matches, banter between the commentators, the show close ... etc.

Let me tell you that this is NO easy task to fit all this in, in the course of a PPV. It's ridiculously tight.

And those damn video packages (assuming we HAD to use them for every match like WWE usually does) accounted for almost 30 minutes of a 2 hour 45 minute broadcast. It was ridiculous.

Now, wouldn't it be better to eliminate those from the PPV to allow for longer match times, longer entrances ... maybe even another match ..... if we could simply put these types of things in the Pre-Show?
