Could Triple H Become Better Than Vince?

The Scarred One

The Greatest of All Time
Something occured to me when I read the reports that the WWE is considering CM Punk vs. Triple H at WrestleMania this year. With Triple H being the on-screen COO and the possibility of him turning heel, could the Game become an even greater authority figure villain than Mr. McMahon?

Looking back at the Mr. McMahon character, even though he was the evil boss, he did come across as a pushover when it came to the other wrestlers. Because of this, he usually had others do his dirty work most of the time. If necessary, he would send a small army after the wrestler just to beat them down. Back in 2006 with his feud with D-Generation X, he relied mostly on his son Shane, the Big Show and the Spirit Squad. In 2007 with his feud with Bobby Lashley, he relied on Umaga and Shane again to do the damage. Even though he has an incredible physique for a man his age, he was really trained to wrestle so he couldn't realistically stand a chance against guys like Austin, Rock and Triple H in a fair match.

With Triple H though, he's been wrestling for about 20 years and has been a 13-time World Champion. So it's obvious he's no pushover. He wouldn't need to hide behind others to do his dirty work for him. If he came face-to-face with someone like Cena, Punk or Orton, he could hold his own against them and even come out on top. The Game may not be as young as he once was, but he does have experience and cunning.

So my questions are: Could Triple H become a more hated on-screen authority figure than Mr. McMahon if he turns heel? Should he have done so in his feud with CM Punk last year? Would Triple H/CM Punk make for the next great rivalry?

Vince is one of the top talkers of this industry, as in, top 5. Triple H is not even top 50, same goes for a personality, Triple H just dosent have a real personality, he has fabricated ones like King of Kings, The Game, Cerebral Assassin, Hunter, but he simply does not have a quarter of a personality that Vince has.

Sure an argument could be made that Hunter will grow into it and develop, Vince wasent always great either. The problem there is that Hunter has been in the wrestling bussiness for 20 something years, and he is still as bad at giving a promo as he initially was. Hell his best stuff mic wise was in the original DX

The fact that you believe Trips can't deliver a promo shows you know nothing lmao....please give me a Top 10 list of promo guys out there right now, please I wanna see this

Triple H's best mic work was as a heel during the middle 2000's while he was World Heavyweight Champion. I can easily see that character being channeled as the evil COO of the WWE. Yes, he should have done it during his feud with CM Punk and still don't understand why he didn't.

What most upsets me is the fact that Triple beat CM Punk and has yet to put him over. People keep clamoring for Punk/Jericho... Screw that, I want to see Triple H turn heel and put Punk over on the Grandest Stage of them All like Punk deserves.

No Chance...no pun intended. VKM was the ultimate heel. Add together is position in the company, his reputation before turning heel, the montreal screwjob, his look, his talking abilitly and its a mix of work and reality- which has always proven to be the biggest success in wrestling.

HHH looks like a pro wrestler, you can not discount his history, and for many die hard fans, HHH will always be a wrestler and a gimmick. We love wrestlers, we liked Bret Hart and we liked Stone Cold, so it was easy to hate VKM. HHH is not in the same ball park as a person or character. Plus his mic skills arent comparable to VKM's.

I am not going to give you a top 10 list of promos guys, but i know that triple h isn't in it. He just uses his angry voice and says,"i am that damn good". If their was ever a guy that was carried it was hhh. He hasn't done anything that mattered without being in a group of people that were better than him. Its just how it is.

VKM is one of the greatest heels of all time. I too don't believe that Triple H cuts great promos. They are never believable and often overacted. Good promos are obviously essential to the villain authority figure role. There is no way that VKM will ever be duplicated.

As far as 10 guys that cut better promos...

1. Ric Flair
2. Kurt Angle
3. C.M. Punk
4. Dolph Ziggler
5. Mick Foley
6. The Rock
7. John Cena
8. Austin Aries
9. Sting
10. Mark Henry

That took about 10 seconds.

I don't know if Triple H can be better than McMahon because that was just the right moment and he had the perfect guy to go against him in Stone Cold. It had the feel of everything clicking. I think if Triple H were to be better or at least in the realm of McMahon, he needs to be a heel because I did enjoy him so much more as a heel especially when it was him and Stephanie running the show back in the late 90's. I think too CM Punk would need to be let off the leash and truly get involved with Triple H to make things go the way we want them to go.

Sorry dude, but I gotta disagree with those choices. Triple H is one of the best at doing promos in the WWE. Especially during his runs as a Heel Run.

His Face Runs......ehh not so much, but as a Heel, The Game is easily one of the best on the mic.

I think the idea of HHH taking over for Vinnie is terrible. Stephanie McMahon would do a better job, especially if she winds up inheriting her daddy's knees. She would look terrific coming out there with the Vince McMahon walk.

If you want to compare their current authority figure characters, Trips loses again by a long shot. Sometimes, his decisions don't seem to make any sense. I'm curious to know if he's going to do anything relevant tonight or if he'll be sending text messages.

A laptop made a more effective heel authority then the Game will.
