The Scarred One
The Greatest of All Time
Something occured to me when I read the reports that the WWE is considering CM Punk vs. Triple H at WrestleMania this year. With Triple H being the on-screen COO and the possibility of him turning heel, could the Game become an even greater authority figure villain than Mr. McMahon?
Looking back at the Mr. McMahon character, even though he was the evil boss, he did come across as a pushover when it came to the other wrestlers. Because of this, he usually had others do his dirty work most of the time. If necessary, he would send a small army after the wrestler just to beat them down. Back in 2006 with his feud with D-Generation X, he relied mostly on his son Shane, the Big Show and the Spirit Squad. In 2007 with his feud with Bobby Lashley, he relied on Umaga and Shane again to do the damage. Even though he has an incredible physique for a man his age, he was really trained to wrestle so he couldn't realistically stand a chance against guys like Austin, Rock and Triple H in a fair match.
With Triple H though, he's been wrestling for about 20 years and has been a 13-time World Champion. So it's obvious he's no pushover. He wouldn't need to hide behind others to do his dirty work for him. If he came face-to-face with someone like Cena, Punk or Orton, he could hold his own against them and even come out on top. The Game may not be as young as he once was, but he does have experience and cunning.
So my questions are: Could Triple H become a more hated on-screen authority figure than Mr. McMahon if he turns heel? Should he have done so in his feud with CM Punk last year? Would Triple H/CM Punk make for the next great rivalry?
