could these matches work at WM 29 or even WM30?

ok hear me out before everyone starts knocking it I was watching Summerslam 2010 with the WWE vs Nexus And it got me thinking what if the WWE did the Attitude Era vs the NEW Era for example

John Cena, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Miz, Sheamus

vs

The Rock, Triple H, Stone Cold(returns for this match),Chris Jericho,Mick Foley

I left the Undertaker out of this match for one reason if he was involved you would know that his team would win and by not having him this match you could use him in another big profile match

so my question is do you think a Elimation match of old vs new superstars can work as a Wrestlemania main event or will it have to be single matches for it to mean more to the fans?

They did this with WWECW New Breed vs. Originals, it worked and had a nice build.
BUT, That one match would contain to many Main Event Stars and not leave enough room for the rest of the card to be worth buying.
Its a good idea, but can not happen until WWE has more top stars.

It's an interesting idea, but like "the IH wrestling" guy said, too many tops guys in the same match, which others would work the rest of the card?, don't think wwe CAN do a match like that at this moment, maybe when they have developed more main event stars, or in another ppv that's not wrestlemania. Unless they do it match by match one on one, and not an 8 or 6 man tag all together, and then keep the record, the attitude era 2 and pg era 1, and keep the counting throughout the night until the main event, which could set up the decisive match if the count is tied for example 3-3, and maybe the main event could be rock vs punk or cena vs stone cold, i dont know some type of big time dream match at the end.

Can you honestly say you wouldn't want to see guys like:
Wade Barrett vs Big Zeke vs. Jack Swagger vs. Drew Mcintyre in a Number 1 contendars ladder match for the US/IC Championship? That way ya get Drew back into the fold.

Then we could have Ziggler vs Ryder

Rhodes vs. Ted vs John Morrison perhaps. Give Ted some more exposure and maybe even let him win. While having Morrison there to give a bit of an unpredictable feel. Would Rhodes win? Would WWE allow Morrison to carry the strap? Would Ted finally get his shot?

Tag Team Championships:
Air Boom vs. William Regal and Tajiri! Yep that is correct! Bring back the Japanese Buzzsaw! Let Bourne/Kingston win after a LONG competitive match. When Tajiri kicks he makes things look good!

There is STILL a world of potential with even using all those stars as the main event. So I say YES it is absolutely possible and I would love to see it.

idk how it could work at this point. most of those men it would hurt them to be eliminated int hat match. Rock, HHH, Austin, Cena and Punk mainly couldnt be eliminated. To much star power in the match imo. But idk why an elimination match wouldnt work at all. Just dont see these guys being in it. But ill humor this and throw together a card...

Cena, Orton, Punk, Miz & ziggler vs. Rock, Austin, HHH, Jericho & Christian
-Replace Sheamus & Foley with ziggler & Christian to make the undercard a little stronger but also still fits this match as Christian is an established star from teh attitude era and ziggler is a rising star.

WWE Title
Del Rio vs. Sheamus
-strong WM title match. Del rio & Sheamus establishing themselves right now and could easily be main eventing WM's in teh future. this match is a possibility for the future...

World Title
Mark Henry vs. Kane
-fan of both big men here. obviously wouldnt be a classic wresting match but both men can make it work. have them both build themselves leading to mania as destructive. Henry already is but Kane could easily bring himself back to that standard.

Undertaker vs. Cody Rhodes
-just thought about this match. Rhodes gimmick right now is dark and its awesome. hes the best thing going in the WWE right now imo. some mroe build and some big wins over guys like Orton, Sheamus Punk or whoever could really give him a shot at defeating the streak...or not ha

Hardcore Match
Foley vs. McIntyre
-I know Drew isnt the biggest favorite around here but im a huge fan. i think he has what it takes jsut hasnt had the right opportunities. yeah he had the ic title run which was ok, but the title didnt mean anything so we cant say that was an opportunity. he should be built as a tough as nails type guy and i think Foley could do to Rhodes what he did for Edge and Orton and really get them over.

Tag Titles
Three Way Ladder Match
Air Boom vs. The DiBiase Bros(bring back Teds lil brother and put them together) vs. the KOW(i know they were recently signed and a triple threat ladder match would be really good. Much like E&C/Hardys/Dudleys. I think every ppv should have some sort of gimmick on it adn this would be perfect. I love tag ladder matches i think they open windows for new ways to use the ladder. Air Boom obviously know how to use ladders adn idk much about the KOW but that they can wrestle and im sure can handle a match like this.

IC Title
Sheffield vs. Bryan
-Just an IC Title match. Sheffield could be a great Bradshaw type guy. Bryan is a great worker but i dont see him making it past the mid card in teh WWE.

Grudge Match
Morrison vs. Barrett
-even though i think Morrison is almost done with the WWE as his contract is coming up soon. both men are good workers and it could be a solid WM match.

Divas Title
Kharma vs. Phoenix
-this is bound to happen at a WM. this could be one of the greatest diva cmatches ever. different type of divas both strong and great workers. it wouldnt be a fast paced match but just something cool to see as both were viewed as teh most dominant in TNA and WWE respectively.



But this is obviously not gonna happen. but id pay to see a ppv with these matches on it

I do think that that would be a great match but there are a few problems with that:

1. You're assuming that Mick Foley would be physically able to do the match without totally dragging it down. I don't think that it's in anyone's best interest to have Mick Foley wrestle.

2. That match would make the event too top heavy. You could have MAYBE 4 or 5 quality matchups with all those big names in that match. I'm sure Rhodes, Barrett & Ziggler will be firmly entrenched as bonafide contenders for the WHC/WWE Title by then, so, for example you could have Del-Rio/Rhodes for the WWE and Barrett & Ziggler for the WHC, but other than that, what else would be on the card?

3. The Attitude Era guys are WAY WAY more over than their PG era counterparts. I don't think the average fan would think that Sheamus and the Miz would be in the same league as The Rock, Stone Cold & Mick Foley. Now, you could try that match combo at a lesser pay-per-view, but not your Super Bowl.

I do think that Rock-Cena will be a great match a la Rock-Hogan WM18, and I would like to see a Punk-Austin match at WM29 or WM30 if Austin could go.

I don't understand why anyone would want a Tag Match of any size as the main event for WM. I didn't want to see the 8 man elimination tag match from a month ago, the 10 man tag on Raw a few weeks ago, let alone the 12 man tag match thats going to happen at Survivor Series.

I cannot STAND tag matches that have teams with more than two members.
