Coming Attractions Thread

50/50

Release Date: September 30, 2011

A man (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) is diagnosed with cancer but tries not to let it ruin his life. He gets help from his best friend (Seth Rogen), and the duo try to enjoy themselves despite the pain, with hilarious results.

This should be a nice comedy/drama. The story here sounds pretty emotional, and I'm sure Rogen will provide some good comic relief. Ana Kendrick has grown me, because she is a solid actress with a bright future, and she can have a very likable on-screen persona. The rest of the cast here looks solid, but I'm not expecting anything great from this film. 50/50 should provide some good laughs, but there will be some sad moments in this film.

Jack & Jill

Release Date: November 11, 2011

A family man is forced to deal with his twin sister from the Bronx comes to Los Angeles for a visit -- then won't leave.

:disappointed::disappointed::disappointed:

This looks terrible. Just Go With It left a bad taste in my mouth, and I try to avoid the majority of Al Pacino's films these days. Yeah, I know, the man is a legend, and he is one of my favorite actors of all time, but he's had his fair share of shit films over the past ten years. The Insider (1999) was the last Pacino film I enjoyed. Righteous Kill was watchable, but 88 Minutes was atrocious, and I really haven't tried to give Pacino another chance after this one. Jack & Jill looks like straight-to-video material, but Sandler and Pacino are big names, so they should draw some decent crowds to theaters. I won't support this film, because when it comes to quality, Pacino and Sandler can deliver some real stinkers. They are together in this film. They're teaming up, so I do expect something horrendous here.

The Thing

Release Date: October 14, 2011

Taking place three days before the events of the John Carpenter film, Paleontologist Kate Lloyd (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and her two assistants Davida Morris (Davetta Sherwood) and Adam Goodman (Eric Christian Olsen) join a Norwegian scientific team that has stumbled across a crashed extraterrestrial spaceship buried in the ice of Antarctica. They discover a creature that seems to have died in the crash eons ago.

When an experiment frees the alien from its frozen prison, Kate, Adam and Davida join the crew's pilot, Carter (Joel Edgerton), to keep it from killing them and imitating them one at a time, using its ability to perfectly mimic any lifeform it absorbs through digestion, and eventually reaching civilization.

Hmmm, I'm not sure what I should think about this trailer. On one hand, it does seem like there could be some nice moments of terror and suspense in this one, but the first look at the cast on video doesn't excite me too much. Kurt Russell did an excellent job with the lead role in the 1982 version of The Thing. Mary Elizabeth Winstead should do an okay job with the lead in this film, but I don't think she'll be able to fill R.J. MacReady's(Kurt Russell's character in the 1982 film) shoes. Still, I am excited to see this film, and I'm glad the first trailer FINALLY debuted, because I have been waiting for a while. Hopefully the other trailers can show more footage.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game Of Shadows

Release Date: December 16, 2011

Sherlock Holmes (Robert Downey, Jr.) and his longtime trusted associate, Doctor Watson (Jude Law), take on their arch-nemesis, Professor Moriarty (Jared Harris), with the help of Holmes's older brother Mycroft Holmes (Stephen Fry) and a gypsy named Sim (Noomi Rapace).

Robert Downey, Jr. and Guy Ritchie are the two main reasons why I want to watch this film. Downey, Jr. is one of my favorite actors, and I am a fan of Ritchie's style of film making. I can't get enough Snatch, and I can't count how many times I've watched this film in the past couple of days. Anyway, I wasn't too crazy about the first Sherlock Holmes film. It wasn't a bad film, but I do have a hard time watching it again. I just can't get into it. For me, it just has this one and done feeling. Still, this film should be entertaining, and it looks like there's going to be a nice mix of comedy and action here. I'm going to miss Rachel McAdams here, but Jude Law and Downey, Jr. should be able to carry this film just fine.

Contagion

Release Date: September 9,2011

An action-thriller centered on the threat posed by a deadly disease and an international team of doctors contracted by the CDC to deal with the outbreak.

Yeah, this should spark some controversy....

The cast for this film looks spectacular. There are a some Oscar winners and nominees here, so the acting in this film should be great. This film has an intriguing premise, and Contagion could be a nice action/thriller filled with some intense drama. Matt Damon usually stars in high quality films, so Contagion should deliver the goods.

11/11/11

Release Date: November 11, 2011

A horror-thriller set on 11:11 on the 11th day of the 11th month and concerning a entity from another world that enters the earthly realm through Heaven's 11th gate.

Meh. This trailer doesn't excite me at all. It feels like I've seen this same type of horror movie so many times. The marketing campaign can be crucial for this film. Again, this film doesn't look like anything special, and I'm sure a lot of us have seen something like this before. I think the 11/11/11 release date will help add a more realistic feel to this film, and using the date as the title is a nice touch. The relation between this film's story and the release date can have an eerie feeling. It will be similar to the release of The Omen remake in 2006 (6/6/6). Still, this could be a decent horror film, but I'm not expecting anything great here. Hopefully this one can feature a nice amount of scares, and there should be some terrifying moments here.

Amazing Spiderman trailer got leaked:

http://www.cinemania.es/actualidad/noticias/8718/filtrado-el-trailer-de-the-amazing-spider-man

I personally find it much better than the last trilogy. The last trilogy was a complete cry fest and it was wayy blown out of porportion. Also, Andrew doesn't look out of place at all in this. Really nice. Loved the first person thing at the end though. I hope its a new origin story as most of us already know. I think there needs to be some more to it this time. I think this one will be a good summer flick as well as a high rated movie. Thoughts?

EDIT: Summer 2012. I just remembered this wasn't a 2011 attraction. Damn.

Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings

Release Date: October 25, 2011 (Straight to DVD and Blu-ray release)

Trailer and synopsis are inside the following link: http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/news/25429

I haven't seen the third Wrong Turn film, but I really enjoyed the first, and I thought the second one was decent enough. But I'm not too thrilled about the fourth film in this series, and the trailer doesn't look good. Wrong Turn 4 looks like your usual mediocre straight-to-video horror film. I'm sure the blood and gore will be off the charts in this one, but there's a good chance the story will suck, the acting will probably be shitty, and there should be some type of cliffhanger ending that will tease another film. Modern day Straight-to-video horror films usually follow this type of pattern, and I don't think anything will be different here. Still, I might give this one a try. Wrong Turn 4 could be awful, but this could be one of those shit films, that are fun to mock.

Paranormal Activity 3

Release Date: October 21, 2011

According to the trailer, it shows that the film may be a prequel set in 1988, focusing on Katie and Kristi when they were younger and stalked by the demon, which was mentioned in the second film.

I haven't been a big fan of the Paranormal Activity films. I couldn't stand the first film, and I thought it was HIGHLY overrated. I enjoyed the second film more, but I still didn't think it was anything special. As far as the scare tactics go, it seems like Paranormal Activity 3 will stick to the same exact formula, so fans of the previous films should enjoy this one. I hope they reveal more details here, because I want to learn about more the demon and the possessed victims in this one, and I actually want to see where this story will go. I don't have high expectations for this film, but Paranormal Activity 3 could be a nice treat for Halloween season.

On a side note, I'll probably wait for the crowds to die down before I go watch this one at a theater. Watching horror movies in a crowded theater can be a pain sometimes, because you'll always have a group of jackasses, who want to yell and scream out loud for no good reason. I guess they think it's "cool" or "funny," but these antics annoy the shit out of me every time.

Dream House

Release Date: September 30, 2011

Soon after moving into their seemingly idyllic new home, a family learns of a brutal crime committed against former residents of the dwelling.

The story for this film looks decent enough, and the cast here is pretty solid, so this one could be worth watching. Usually, I'm not too crazy about the "spooky old haunted house" flick, because these type of films can be so tedious and predictable, but Rachel Weisz and Naomi Watts are fine actresses, and Daniel Craig should be able to carry the lead role well here. The cast will probably be the highlight of this film, and I hope Dream House can provide some nice scares.

EDIT: Summer 2012. I just remembered this wasn't a 2011 attraction. Damn.

I know this isn't 2011, but I've been looking forward to this one for a while! The trailer is kick-ass and I think it looks way better than the last trilogy (although that could have a lot to do with my strong dislike for Toby McGuire and my love of Andrew Garfield :p).

As for movies actually coming out in 2011, I noticed Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Help, and 30 Minutes or Less are all on here. Rise of the Planet of the Apes looks sick! I can't wait for that one. I know a lot of people who have read The Help and say the story is really amazing and inspiring so I'm looking forward to that. 30 Minutes or Less just looks hilarious, I love Jesse Eisenberg and Aziz Ansari so I can't wait for the two of them plus Danny McBride and Nick Swardson.

I'm a sucker for a good kid's film so I'm pretty pumped for The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn (December 23, 2011). I know the title sounds stupid, but Les Aventures de Tintin are some quality, classic French comics and I'm excited to see them make a movie based off of them.

Another one that's more for kid is Puss in Boots (November 4, 2011). I'm a huge Shrek fan and Puss in Boots was always my favorite character. It looks like it might be pretty funny, but who knows, sequels and spin-offs aren't really my favorite things .

Also, I highly recommend seeing Insidious (from the people who made Saw), it just came out and went straight to DVD, but it was creepy as fuck and a damn good horror film.

Straw Dogs

Release Date: September 16, 2011

L.A. screenwriter David Sumner relocates with his wife to her hometown in the deep South. There, while tensions build between them, a brewing conflict with locals becomes a threat to them both.

This could be a nice thriller flick. I've never seen the original, but this trailer has done enough to raise my curiosity level. Kate Bosworth is a solid actress, and James Marsden should an okay job with the lead role, but this film does look very predictable. There's going to be a big showdown at the end, and I'm sure the innocent married couple will get their revenge.

In Time

Release Date: October 28, 2011

In a not-too-distant future when the aging gene has been switched off, people must pay to stay alive. To avoid overpopulation, time has become the currency and the way people pay for luxuries and necessities. The rich can live forever, while the rest try to negotiate for their immortality. A poor young man is accused of murder when he inherits a fortune of time from a dead upper class man, though too late to help his mother from dying. He is forced to go on the run from a corrupt police force known as 'time keepers'.

I'm not so sure about Timberlake as the lead here. I always think of him as a comedy guy, and I do think his comedy films are more entertaining than his serious stuff. Timberlake's character looks like a bad ass at times here, and I don't know if I could believe him in that type of role. Still, In Time could be a fun science fiction thriller, because the story does sound unique, and the cast looks pretty solid here.

Tower Heist

Release Date: November 4, 2011

When a group of hard working guys find out they've fallen victim to a wealthy business man's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence.

Eddie Murphy? His work in the 80's was great, but this man has had his fair of shit films over the years.... Beverly Hills Cop III, Norbit, The Adventures Of Pluto Nash, The Nutty Professor II, Showtime....well I could keep going, but I'll stop here.

The rest of the cast looks okay here, but the story doesn't excite me too much. Although, Tower Heist could feature some good laughs, and this could be a fun comedy film. Still, Murphy scares me here. I don't trust him anymore, and I hope he doesn't drag this film down.

The Darkest Hour

Release Date: December 23, 2011

The story tells of a group of young people who fight to survive in Russia after an alien invasion.

First of all, I am a big fan of Emile Hirsch, so I will watch this film. Hirsch has tons of potential, and he can become a big star in Hollywood one day. The Darkest Hour could be a nice little alien invasion flick. This one could be full of action, but I'm not too sure about the aliens here. The trailer doesn't show them in physical form, and I think aliens in the physical form provide a more threatening presence. But I will say this, the alien kills in this trailer do look unreal.

The Caller

Release Date: August 26, 2011

"When troubled divorcee, Mary Kee, sets up home in her new apartment, she stumbles across an old telephone which she quickly falls in love with. Struck by its antique charm, she gives it pride of place in her home. Before long, Mary begins to receive strange phone calls from a mysterious, unknown caller. Over time, she discovers that the caller is a woman called Rose and the two strike up an unlikely friendship. However, when Rose claims to be calling from the past, Mary begins to question her new friend's motives.

As Rose's phone calls become ever more disturbing, Mary's sense of terror escalates. Feeling haunted in her own home, she cuts all contact with Rose. Enraged by Mary's betrayal, Rose threatens to exact her terrible revenge. Not on Mary in the present but on Mary as a child in the past. Mary finally realizes that she will have to kill Rose in order to save herself. But how can she kill someone living in the past and what will happen if she fails?"

This could be an interesting little horror flick. This trailer does look creepy, and the story is intriguing. The Caller will be a limited release, but I must find this film, because I do want to see it. Oh, and I will watch anything with Luis Guzman.

Killer Elite

Release Date: September 23, 2011

Sir Ranulph Fiennes' novel, controversially claimed to have been based on actual events, concerns a series of assassinations of members of the British Special Air Service (SAS) by a hit squad called "The Clinic". The "Feather Men" of the title is a group of vigilante special forces members who take on the hit men to protect members of their regiment.

I love De Niro, but I can't stand some of his recent garbage. I might give up on De Niro, if he decides to do another Fockers film, because Little Fockers was horrendous, and that franchise needs to die a slow and painful death.

Killer Elite could be worth watching. You should enjoy this one, if you're into flashy action flicks. This story doesn't excite me at all, but this could be a fun popcorn flick.

Just a reminder: I have decided to rename this thread so that we can just use it for all the coming attractions for next year too. Or rather, Mitch can use it then too...

Still, I guess I should talk about something.

Last night, I watched the trailer I posted in this here thread for Grave Encounters. Apparently, it has been given an official release date for the 25th of August 2011. Now, it has been shown at other film festivals and has received mostly good press reviews in that time. Personally, I think it is the only film of 2011 that I am actually chomping at the bit to witness with my own eyes. Yes, there is The Inbetweeners Movie and Paranormal Activity 3 to look forward to as well.

But really, when I think about the movies that I actually cannot do without seeing, Grave Encounters sits alone at the top of that list and that's the way it will stay for the foreseeable future. For those of you who have not seen the trailer, I strongly advise looking back through this thread and finding the trailer, If you are into shaky camera horror flicks like [REC], then I doubt you will be disappointed.

Great! A lot of people should already know about the teaser trailers for The Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises, but there will be some more trailers in the future, and I can't wait to see them. Also, I'm looking forward to seeing the other trailers for some of the big name films in 2012.

A Lonely Place To Die

Release Date: September 9, 2011 (UK Only)

"follows a group of five mountaineers hiking and climbing in the Scottish Highlands. When they discover a young girl buried alive in a small chamber in the wilderness they become caught up in a terrifying game of cat and mouse with the kidnappers as they try to get the girl to safety."

A US release date hasn't been set yet, and this film will probably go straight to DVD/Blu-Ray, when it hits the US.

A Lonely Place To Die could be a nice action-thriller flick, but the trailer doesn't excite me at all. The majority of this trailer looks dull, but there could be some good moments of suspense here and there. I don't expect too much from this film, but this could be worth watching on DVD.

Twixt

A writer with a declining career arrives in a small town as part of his book tour and gets caught up in a murder mystery involving a young girl. That night in a dream, he is approached by a mysterious young ghost named V. He's unsure of her connection to the murder in the town, but is grateful for the story being handed to him. Ultimately he is led to the truth of the story, surprised to find that the ending has more to do with his own life than he could ever have anticipated.

As far as the release date goes, one hasn't been set yet, but this film will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Francis Ford Coppola's name should draw a good amount of people to this film. This is HIS movie, because he is the writer, director, and producer for this one.

I like Val Kilmer. He's a solid actor, but he does have a bad habit of picking shitty films, but Twixt could be the spark he needs. The story for this film sounds intriguing, and this trailer does look very creepy. This could be a good horror flick, and I really want to watch this film. I have been waiting for another film from Coppola, and I can only watch Tetro so many times.

The Rift

Since a few decades they were watching us. Studying us. What are they? Nobody knows. Nobody but Ivan Petrenko Karkarov. The Russian physicist started to study a phenomenon which was occurring since several decades. In 1982 he found an answer to the strange phenomenon but before he could tell anyone he mysteriously vanished. 30 years later, in Newell Iowa, Dean Hollister seems to be a normal guy until strange radar anomalies appear throughout the world. All of a sudden something starts to happen at the sky, black rifts appear. Behind those rifts something is moving. It's watching us.

This film will hit theaters in 2012, but The Rift doesn't have an official release date yet.

The story for this film doesn't excite me, but I love alien invasion films, so I will watch this one, when it hits theaters next year. This is just the teaser, but this little bit of footage does look good. The Rift is a very low budget film ($50,000 estimated) so I don't expect to see any flashy explosions and large-scale battle scenes. Still, The Rift could spooky, and there could be some nice moments of tension here.

Tinker, Tailor, Solider, Spy

Release Date: November 18, 2011

In the bleak days of the Cold War, espionage veteran George Smiley is forced from semi-retirement to uncover a Soviet agent within MI6's echelons.

Yeah, I will watch anything with Gary Oldman. He could have a film where he does nothing but talk to himself for two hours, and I would still pay money to see it. Oldman is a phenomenal actor, and he always delivers.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy should be a nice thriller/drama film, and the cast looks great here. There's a good chance this film won't make a lot of money, because this one doesn't have that mass appeal feeling, but this should be a high quality film. The story is solid, and this should be a mysterious film filled with a nice amount of twist and turns.

The Debt

Release Date: August 31, 2011

The espionage thriller begins in 1997, as shocking news reaches retired Mossad secret agents Rachel (Academy Award winner Helen Mirren) and Stefan (two-time Academy Award nominee Tom Wilkinson) about their former colleague David (Ciaran Hinds). All three have been venerated for decades by their country because of the mission that they undertook back in 1966, when the trio portrayed, respectively, by Jessica Chastain, Marton Csokas, and Sam Worthington tracked down Nazi war criminal Vogel (Jesper Christensen) in East Berlin. At great risk, and at considerable personal cost, the team's mission was accomplished - or was it? The suspense builds in and across two different time periods, with startling action and surprising revelations.

The Debt could be entertaining. The cast looks pretty good here, and the story sounds decent enough. This film should offer a nice mix of action and drama, and I do want to see this film.

Abduction

Release Date: September 23, 2011

A thriller centered on a young man who sets out to uncover the truth about his life after finding his baby photo on a missing persons website.

So the werewolf from the Twilight films has a lead role? Okay then.

Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver are apart of the cast here, so I might give this one a try. But this trailer doesn't do anything for me. Abduction looks like your standard Hollywood action/thriller flick. The story for this film sounds mediocre, this film should feature some corny cliches, and the action scenes should be over the top and unbelievable. Still, Abduction could be a decent film. Taylor Lautner will have a chance to prove himself here, and he'll have to carry this film, because he is the lead man here. Also, Lautner should draw some of the Twilight fanbase to theaters for this one.

The Sitter

Release Date: December 9, 2011

A comedy about a college student on suspension who is coaxed into babysitting the kids next door, though he is fully unprepared for the wild night ahead of him.

I'm not too sure about this film. Jonah Hill can be funny sometimes, but I think he needs a good supporting cast to surround him. Superbad featured a nice set of comical characters, and Jonah WASN'T the most funny person in that film. The same thing can be said about his role in Get Him To The Greek.

Still, The Sitter could be an okay R-Rated comedy. Although, I think this film will rely on vulgar and raunchy humor for laughs. This can be okay if it's done on a limited basis, but this type of strategy can backfire if they go too over the top here, and the jokes will lose their steam, because the shock factor will began to fade as the film progresses.

Hugo

Release Date: November 23, 2011

Hugo Cabret is an orphan boy living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. When Hugo encounters a broken automaton, an eccentric girl, and the cold, reserved man who runs the toy shop, he is caught up in a magical, mysterious adventure that could put all of his secrets in jeopardy.

This will be Martin Scorsese's first 3D film ever, and I hope he can bring something special to the table here. Scorsese can always make a high quality film, but his movies are usually character driven, so seeing a Scorsese film in 3D will be weird. I never thought Scorsese would jump on the 3D bandwagon, and I really don't watch kiddy films anymore (I still haven't seen Toy Story 3), but I will give this one a chance when it hits theaters, because Scorsese is my favorite director of all time. Oh, and Johnny Depp is a producer for this film, so there's no chance I'm going to miss this one.

Hugo should make a nice splash at the box office, and this should be one of the more popular holiday films this year. The cast looks pretty solid here, and the story for this film sounds fun. The younger crowds will eat this stuff up, and Scorsese's name should draw some good numbers at the box office.

On a side note, the release date for Colombiana has changed. This film will hit theaters on August 26, 2011.

Again, I like Zoe Saldana, and she is one of my favorites, but I don't care for the story here. The whole "I want revenge for my dead parents" stuff has been done so many times, and you just know Saldana will fulfill her quest to avenge her dead parents. These type of stories can be SO predictable and annoying. Still, this could be an entertaining action flick, but I don't expect anything great or good here.

I'm shocked that nobody has posted the trailer for this, but here it is...

The Inbetweeners Movie

Release Date: August 17, 2011

Will, Neil, Simon and Jay, four socially troubled eighteen-year-olds from the south of England go on holiday to Crete.

This has been something I have been looking forward to ever since the third series ended. I so excited to watch this especially with the release date being so close, I just hope it is as good as the tv series. From the trailer it seems to have kept what makes the tv show so good and managed to transform it to the big screen. This is apparently the end of the road for the Inbetweeners lads, so hopefully it will go off with a bang which I'm sure it will be. A definite must see.

Hidden 3D

Release Date: August 29, 2011 (UK Only)

"The English-language horror/thriller begins when Brian Karter’s mother dies, he is surprised to learn that he has inherited The Sanctuary, home to her controversial experimental addiction treatment center. During a tour of the decrepit building with his friends and a mysterious associate of his mother, it becomes clear that something sinister lies beneath the surface. Despite their misgivings, the group follows a secret passageway underground and comes to a terrible realization: Brian’s mother built a revolutionary machine that cured people of their addictions but, as a side effect, caused those addictions to materialize in the form of mutant children hungry for human flesh, now living in the bowels of the abandoned building. With the mutant children hunting the group as prey, Brian and his friends fight to stay alive against the inconceivable, and soon realize that some things are better left hidden."

This will be a straight to video release for the UK, and a US release date hasn't been set yet. Also, why the fuck does this film still have 3D in the title??? This film is going straight to video, so a 3D release seems unlikely. I guess they forget to change the title.

Anyway, Hidden could be a solid horror film. The story is pretty mysterious, and this trailer does feature a nice amount of creepy moments. Although, I think the trailer shows way too much here. They basically give away the entire film in this trailer, but I'll try to watch this film, when it lands in the US, because I am curious about this one.

Coriolanus

Release Date: December 2, 2011

A banished hero of Rome allies with a sworn enemy to take his revenge on the city.

Wow. This trailer look great. Coriolanus could be an awesome drama/thriller film, and the cast does look pretty damn good here. Although, Gerard Butler has been on my shit list for the past couple of years, because he does have a good amount of bad films on track record, and I really can't stand any film with Katherine Heigl (The Ugly Truth). Also, I wasn't too crazy about 300. Butler isn't a bad actor at all, but he does chose some garbage films.

Also, this will be Ralph Fiennes' film. He has the leading role in this film, he is a producer for this one, and Fiennes will be making his directorial debut here. I've never had a problem with Fiennes, and he is a pretty solid actor.

On a side note, it'll be weird to see Fiennes in a different role here. I've started to think of him as "the guy who portrays Lord Voldemort in the Harry Potter films." Fiennes does have some nice range, but he will be remembered as the bad guy in the Harry Potter films.

A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas

Release Date: November 4, 2011

Three years have elapsed since Guantanamo Bay, leaving Harold and Kumar estranged from one another with very different families, friends and lives. But when Kumar arrives on Harold's doorstep during the holiday season with a mysterious package in hand, he inadvertently burns down Harold's father-in-law's beloved Christmas tree. To fix the problem, Harold and Kumar embark on a mission through New York City to find the perfect Christmas tree, once again stumbling into trouble at every single turn.

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Harlod and Kumar in 3D! Now I've seen everything.

I've always been a big fan of the Harold & Kumar films, so I am very excited to see this one. Harold and Kumar are a very entertaining odd couple duo, and the story for this film sounds hilarious. I always try to avoid holiday films, because they can be very corny, but this Harold & Kumar film won't follow the usual predictable pattern. The wild and whacky adventure here should be fun to watch, and I won't mind the 3D format for this film. Usually, I can't stand 3D films, but Harold & Kumar should be worth the extra money, because this film actually looks like it was shot for a 3D release.

Drive

Release Date: September 16, 2011

A Hollywood stunt performer who moonlights as a wheelman discovers that a contract has been put on him after a heist gone wrong.

I'm a fan of Ryan Gosling, and he is a very solid actor. The story for Drive sounds kind of average. The whole "botched robbery" storyline has been done so many times, and Gosling's character will be thirsty for revenge here. Still, Drive could be a thrilling crime drama with some nice action, and I am looking forward this film.

The Ides Of March

Release Date: October 7, 2011

An idealistic staffer for a newbie presidential candidate gets a crash course on dirty politics during his stint on the campaign trail. Based on the play by Beau Willimon.

Eh, the cast here looks good, but I'm not too crazy about these political conspiracy drama films. These type of films can be SO painfully boring and dull. Good acting should be the driving force behind this film, because the story doesn't sound too interesting.

Haywire

Release Date: January 20, 2012

A black ops super soldier seeks payback after she is betrayed and set up during a mission.

I can't stand Channing Tatum, because he is a terrible actor. I get it, he has the Abercrombie & Fitch model look, but this man doesn't have an ounce of talent in his body. The "I have the Hollywood look" stuff will only take him so far, because if Tatum wants to become a real star, he'll have to showcase some talent one day.

Anyway, Haywire could be a fun action flick. I don't expect anything great here, but this could be a decent film. Also, I really don't know too much about Gina Carano. I caught a few of her fights on Showtime (I think the name of the show was Strikeforce?) and I've seen her in a few magazines, but I really don't follow the world of MMA too much.

Margin Call

Release Date: October 21, 2011

A thriller that revolves around the key people at a investment bank over a 24-hour period during the early stages of the financial crisis.

This film does feature a very solid cast, and I guess Demi Moore is trying to make some sort of a comeback, because I can't remember the last time she did something meaningful. Margin Call could be a solid thriller, and I do want to watch this film.

Suing The Devil

Release Date: August 26, 2011

A down-and-out law student sues Satan for $8 trillion dollars. Satan appears to defend himself and the trial of the century takes place.

I know this is supposed to be a dark comedy, but this premise sounds fucking ridiculous. Malcolm McDowell is a fine actor, but his presence doesn't lure me to this film. Suing The Devil should be an over the top dark comedy, but this trailer looks horrible. This film just looks very corny, and this type of story won't attract large crowds.

The Coriolanus trailer was taken down, but I found another one:

Creature

Release Date: September 9, 2011

In the back country of Louisiana, a group of friends unearth a terrible secret that unleashes a monster from the depths of the swamp.

Creature could be decent little low budget horror film. This won't attract too many people, but Creature should appeal to some die hard horror fans. This film should be pretty bloody and violent, I'm sure the women will be involved in some scenes of nudity or sex, and the kills should be gruesome. Creature should feature all of the elements you usually see in an American horror film, and I might take a chance on this one.

Chrome Skull: Laid To Rest 2

Release Date: September 20, 2011 (Straight-To-Video-Release)

"ChromeSkull" is the sequel to the 2009 horror hit "Laid to Rest." It brings back ChromeSkull, who barely escaped death in the first movie and is hell-bent on continuing where he left off... and forging a new path of terror and destruction.

I loved Laid To Rest 2009. It was a solid slasher film, the kills were very gruesome and shocking, the story was mysterious, and there was a good amount of suspense here. Laid To Rest isn't a classic, but it's nice little low budget treat, and I was shocked at how good this was, because straight-to-video horror films can be really shitty.

I really enjoyed Laid To Rest, but this trailer is awful. It looks like they're going to stick to the same EXACT formula they used in the first film. Also, this film actually looks like straight-to-video material. Laid To Rest was a straight-to-video film, but I really didn't notice this, as I watched this movie. It was a low budget flick, but this film had characters who I wanted to care about, and the story was intriguing. I could be wrong about Laid To Rest 2, but this trailer has killed my desire to watch this film.
