WTF is with the fact that I create a thread that is designed to get people posting even wild speculation over the origins of Pro Wrestling that people don't even respond. 55 views and 2 responses and one of them doesn't count because it is my post.

I read it Shadow and was in awl of how great it was. I did not post in it simply because I do not have an idea on the subject, nor the time to think out, and plan a post that would be put in there. Not to mention anything I was thinking of while reading the title of the thread was stated by you.

Props for speculating on the origins of pro wrestling. Since you are a history scholar, I hope that one day you'll be able to communicate your thesis to people in your field. However (please don't take this personally), I have no interest in any sort of professional wrestling before the 1960s. Your post was an interesting and erudite read, but I have no desire to respond to it.

For the most part the entire thing is not about Wrestling itself but about where the concept of Wrestling is from. And History scholarship on wrestling is limited to say the least. that is all opinion rather than hard facts.
