Colt Cabana Answers Over 200 Fan Questions

The Dragon Saga

Whale in a Teardrop
Cabana joined Reddit for an AMA (Ask Me Anything) and is still going - he was only supposed to be at this for an hour, hes been at it now coming close to two and a half hours. Dude loves interacting with his fans.

If you want there's the link, a ton of interesting stuff asked and hes answered most questions well or in a humorous manner, he answered mine (I use an abbreviation of my forum name) and I'm one of the few people he said thank you to. If you don't want to read over 200 fan questions in the spoilers below are some of his answers in brief.

- Cabana feels WWE never had any intention of bringing him back after Punk's worked shoot and whenever he went to a WWE live event he always felt tension between him and John Laurinitais, hes happy Laurinitais was fired.

- He doesn't want to talk about Ring of Honor but he still loves the company and hes happy it's doing well, he still has a lot of fond memories.

- If CHIKARA is gone he said it's a loss to the business.

- If he had some control in the WWE he'd book meaningful feuds, fire most of the creative team and make the titles mean something.

- He called Zack Ryder's buddy The Big O a prick (personal highlight).

- He was upset with his 2009 TNA tryout because they booked him against another babyface and despite the fact he offered to play a heel to make the dynamic better TNA wouldn't allow it. He also said Russo had no idea who he was and when someone told him Russo looked confused.

- Hes seen guys doing steroids before indy shows (he says recently in London specifically) but he doesn't care, it's not his body the drugs are going into.

- He doesn't mind Steve Austin is doing a podcast because - get this - Colt didn't invent podcasts!

- He doesn't find people coming up to him and saying, "Hey Colt Cabana, how you doin'?" funny.

- He's extremely happy doing what he's doing now because he's making a good living and is able to do outside projects such as comedy, YouTube series, documentaries and tours to places like England and Australia (for free) which he wouldn't be able to do under a contract.

- Guys in WWE do watch ROH/Japan/Indies, mostly guys brought up with it like Punk, Cesaro, Ohno, Kidd, Hawkins and... Hornswoggle? CM Punk's favorite indy wrestler right now is Adam Cole.

- He doesn't reget what he and Pearce did with the NWA title, it was the NWA's fault for not managing their finances.

- He doesn't mind older guys like Sting and Hogan continuing to work because at the end of the day their being paid a ton of money.

- If WWE offered him a deal tomorrow he wouldn't take it if they wanted him to go to development because development now is totally different to the development of old, fans don't realize it but WWE are gradually changing their style.

Lot more cool shit. Glad I got home from work to get an early question in.

He's also sending a free t-shirt to some dude because his t-shirt faded in the washing machine. Hope he asks for proof but either way that's cool as shit.

The guys on reddit are even a little more on his dick than I'd have thought, but it's still nice that a (relatively) famous dude spends time with the fans, even if it's eerily similar to the SP Funnybot episode where Token keeps giving Tyler Perry money. Good on you, Colt.

What did he and Pearce do with the NWA title? I can't remember hearing anything about this....

They had a best of 7 series with escalating stipulations with each match being for the NWA Title. The NWA got pissy though and stopped recognizing the matches. I'm sure there is a lot more to it than that, but that is the basic idea.

And when Cabana/Pearce were found for doing a documentary about it lawyers got involved but they continued on with it.

Also, Mick Foley is doing an AMA tomorrow.
