CM Punk's potential matches at Wrestlemania

I feel Punk vs Triple H was just getting started when the focus switched, and it would be the kind of elite main event Mania match Punk needs to cement him.

Add to this the fact Jericho has never wrestled Taker on PPV and that the two would have a stellar and fresh match.

Yeah, CM Punk-Chris Jericho is a feud that could carry RAW for a few months. However, if you blow it off by WrestleMania, it will have been played up too big for it to mean as much at the subsequent lesser pay-per-views. Plus, Triple H isn't likely to work much this year beyond WrestleMania, so besides this being beneficial to all the wrestlers involved, it's also just a better way of utilizing the time they'll have with these wrestlers.

why does cm punk need Triple H to put him over. No offense to H, but he doesnt need to put punk over and H is obviously not in the shape he used to be a few years ago. Punk already put over John Cena 2 times! Is that not enough? If Punk needs anyone to put him over. Its simple as this: Punk needs Jericho. If punk puts over Jericho i see that being bigger than punk going over HHH. But that's just my opinion.

because Triple H has never lost to evan bourne. Triple H is a bigger star and a bigger legend than Jericho.

The obvious best choice is Taker/Jericho and HHH/Punk. This may be the last chance we ever get to see Taker vs Jericho and we've been asking for this for years and plus they never had a match on pay per view. They are both getting old and the perfect time is now. It's a new refreshing match. Jericho can always face Punk at next years wrestlemania or even summerslam. Also we have seen punk vs Jericho numerous amounts of times it just wasn't for the title. HHH vs Punk will be a good match and it fits into the whole storyline. It will be even better if HHH goes heel and punk gets the win at mania.

I Voted other because, I don't want to see HHH vs Taker III at WrestleMania.

Like Hamily Guy said, the sheer epicness of a Punk vs Jericho feud can NOT take a backseat at WrestleMania. The mic skills and wrestling ability of both men can make for a potentially amazing feud. I would love to see it. Punk hasn't really gone up against somebody who can "out-promo" him so to speak, just yet. Jericho is the guy for the job.

I feel like Kane should take on The Undertaker. I mean, I don't see any other opponent besides Sheamus. The only reason I say Kane vs Undertaker is for two reasons:

1) I wanna see the new school Mind Games between a new Dark Twisted Kane and a returning Undertaker.

2) Who else is Kane going to face at Mania? Which other Big Name face can he go up against?

The only formula I see them doing is Punk vs Jericho, HHH vs Taker III and maybe Kane vs Sheamus which leaves Randy Orton challenging Daniel Bryan for the World Heavyweight Championship.

Or if they really want to throw in a wrench and change it up on us, they can have Kane take on The Game, leaving Sheamus to take a crack at the streak.

Bottom Line, I don't want anything to stop Punk vs Jericho from happening. This could already be Feud of the Year and it hasn't even started yet.

he should have his 1st ever three way tango on the big stage in his biggest match.. against who? hbk and hhh? noo CM Punk and Y2J..


the story could be y2j coming to end the world as we know it, [the world meaning takers streak] and we can have punk in it as well, [the man who is the best in the world but can he really beat the one guy on the one day he has never been bested at/on]

the match could be great as last year we saw taker weak, with 2 challengers this would be his biggest odds, we can get taker showing flashes of greatness and during the time he is out we get punk and y2j mixed in with splashes of punk taker and y2j taker..

payoff could boost punk big time and start off a nice fued with y2j and punk going into sumerslam

No. God no. Punk vs Y2J needs to be one on one. Punk should carry the title into WM28, not feud with Taker there. Maybe next year if Taker is still around. If Punk AND Y2J face Taker, what the Hell would the WWE title match be? Dolph vs Kofi? The only thing would be if Y2J fought Taker and Punk fought Ziggler, but it's really time for Jericho and Punk to feud by themselves. Your idea would more than likely mean a WWE title match in a situation where neither Jericho or Punk(at least not yet for Punk) should go over Taker or if Taker wins we have a reign from a guy who wrestled one match in 2011.

No chance pal. This would be a bad idea for a few reasons.

First of all it would take the spot light away from the WWE championship. At this point the annual 'streak' match at WrestleMania is so big that there doesn't need to be a title involved. If anything, it would be detrimental to championship.

And why have one big name match when you can have two. Having Punk and Jericho go at it frees up Undertaker for a big name match with someone else. Perhaps Randy Orton if he's non in the WHC match.

The end of the world as we know it meaning the streak makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. Jericho vs Punk makes sense, it all fits. Both men making the claim of being the best in the world, Jericho coming back to take back what is his, it makes sense.

Triple threat matches tend to be awkward. They usually involve 1 guy awkwardly overselling, while the other 2 go at it in the ring.

Thougn Taker will need some sort of gimmick to carry him to a passable match, lumbering the useless and slow Undertaker with CM Punk and Chris Jericho is a ridiculous idea and sure to bury them both. CM Punk is the WWE CHAMPION, this should mean something to even marks. A whole feud that is the most important or second after Rock vs Cena should revolve around Punk. As the Laurinaitis angle is a long way from being over,k it is fait to say that this will culminate at Wrestlemania when Punk finally gets his hands on Johnny Ace for 5 minutes or some form of gimmick. Laurinaitis will be siding with Jericho, guaranteed. Jericho will be the guy who Ace has been texting. The night after Jericho wins the Rumble it wil all be explained.

whc can always have sheamus or bryan or barret or cody or show or henry in some sort of match.. we get the 3 big matches wwe title [with a star like randy], the rock match, and the taker match.. its the same type of card we had last year.. edge vs del rio had edge but im sure a smackdown guy can slip in and we can have a semi decent fued

plus this would be a shocker that vince could shove up the IWC like he was thinking with y2j vs taker hhh vs punk [rumors] since the IWC has said punk vs y2j would happen.. and he can always delay the y2j punk match to summerslam and the "big match" other then the championship matches..

Personally I think Punk vs Y2J needs to be a one on one thing. They already have something to work with, the whole best in the world gimmick and the fact that Stephanie might be involved and be on Jericho's side. Undertaker would be a third wheel and would really spoil the match because we know hes not losing at this point of his career. If undertaker really needs to have a match this year they should just let him come back as ABA and face Triple H one last time.

Now while I'll give you that HHH vs. Taker III should NOT happen. I mean let's be honest, unless you're 12, you didn't like the Taker HHH 2 match, there is no reason why Kane vs. Taker III should not happen.

Kane vs. Taker 3 is the logical choice, especially since masked Kane is back.

You've got to remember, it was unmasked Kane that lost at WM20 a "less powerful" Kane. Now we have the big evil Kane back. He's masked and true to form as he should be. So in all reality, Kane vs Taker III is really Kane v. Taker II when you think about the "Kane" that is fighting.

and on the Punk / Jericho thing. While I see Jericho as a decent opponent, it's not a believable thing. Punk just doesn't make sense at all and why this would not work.

we already know cena will have the belt to face rock at WM28... as for punk vs J, well we'll see where it goes, but a belt will not be part of the equation until after punk or J wins if from Cena after he beats Rock.

Honestly I don't want to see HHH and his slow, punch, kick style of match, it bores me stupid. Punk Vs Jericho is fine but as far as The Undertaker goes I'd rather he faced someone younger like Miz (who I suspect will be facing Morrison), Rhodes (who will hopefully be facing Goldust) or Barrett.

Jericho vs Undertaker and HH vs Punk is the worst idea I ever heard. If WWE made those two matches at Wrestlemania then they really don't care about there fans and want to dissapoint there fans. Punk vs Jericho needs to happen at Wrestlemania. Those two are gold on the mic and gold in the ring. The two of them can play off each other so well and I feel that these two can have an amzing fued and would steal the show. I'm not that excited about Rock vs Cena I want to see Cm Punk vs Chris Jericho. Wrestlemania is suppose to be the biggest and greatest wrestling show that means you put your two best wrestlers in the main event and thats Punk and Jericho. If that match doesn't happen I'll probally just stream it

Who the hell would want to see HHH vs Punk at Wrestlemania again...months AFTER we've already seen that same, exact match? Why would the WWE Creative even be scratching their heads at this particular scenario, when they know...1005 KNOW that people have been wanting to see a Y2J vs Punk showdown at Wrestlemania ever since the first teaser of Jericho coming back? I do not get how Y2J vs undertaker would be the worst idea, taker's only option is to face an established guy or a veteran, HHH and kane both should not face taker. Taker has never faced Y2J at wrestlemania, and this match could have this special factor HBK and taker match had. And shaemus winning the rumble has totally changed the whole course of the road to wrestlemania now

To tell you the truth i wouldn't really care if they didn't have HHH and The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. maybe if WWE put more time into there younger talant and had more faith in them we wouldn't have to see the same people in the main event every year Lets face it we are not going to get this match of the year match with Undertaker. If they ever had HHH beat Punk at Wrestlemania I think would stop watching WWE and Summerslam is too long of a wait to see Punk vs Jericho

Very disappointed, I hated the Triple H/Taker match from last year and certainly don't want to see another one, and Punk vs Jericho could have been a great summer feud, as in the summer they'd have had the show to themselves and been center stage, now they'll be distinctly third place.

Punk has had a great run and defending against Triple H who has been a true main event guy for over a decade would have been great for him and the title.

Jericho would have given Taker a more agile and versatile opponent to cover up the rust that will be there from his time off, injuries and age.

As much as I don’t want to see Triple H and Undertaker going at it again at Wrestlemania, the pure epicness of CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho would make me forget all about it. CM Punk and Chris Jericho are two of the single best mic workers in the last couple of years; their feud has the potential to be one of the best feuds to date. I would much rather see Chris Jericho take on CM Punk in a wrestling match. Chris Jericho vs. Undertaker doesn’t appeal to me; nor does Triple H vs. CM Punk. Why does Chris Jericho think he can defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania when neither Triple H nor Shawn Michaels could? I guess that’s what build up is for. Triple H does not need another Championship. I’m positive Punk will be hanging onto the Championship until Wrestlemania but why does Triple H want another Title to his name; just to see if he can do it?

Nah, Triple H vs. The Undertaker, whether you like it or not, still has a little bit of story left. Last year, The Undertaker wasn’t the dark, mythical, evil superhuman he was all throughout his career; he was just a man. Triple H made him just a man. There is still a little bit of a story left to be told. I would much rather see Punk vs. Jericho and Triple H vs. Undertaker than the other way around.

Unfortunately, that's true & WWE shouldn't have to leave that unfinished like they did before. So we're likely to see HHH/taker again this year at 'Mania just so they can finish that storyline. But I hope they go the other way around with HHH/Punk & Y2J/Taker in some way. But then again I'm also interested to see an Punk/Y2J match. They've already started a rivalry online talking about Gimmick, Wrestleing Move infringmnt so I'm inclined to say tha they should continue.

The only way an HHH/Punk & Taker/Y2J could work is if they mix the two up at or immediately @ EC.

I want nothing more in wrestling right now than to see a Punk/Jericho feud, culminating at WrestleMania in a match for the WWE Championship. It would be pure gold, no questions about it. That seems to be what a lot of wrestling fans are pulling for lately. And judging by Raw, it seems like that's what we're going to get.

With that being said, I'm really not into see HHH/Undertaker again at Mania. It's just like the WWE as of recent years to go to the well one too many times. Just because something goes well once doesn't mean it should be done to death.

I would much rather see Taker do something with Kane heading into Mania. It's happened just as many times as Taker/HHH, but at least it hasn't been done for a sufficient amount of time, so it would be somewhat fresh. It also seems like that would be the only other possible option aside from, of course, Triple H and Undertaker.

Unfortunately, it's looking like we're going to get Taker and HHH again this year. Now let's just hope we don't see Triple H break the streak because his tender ego can't stand losing to The Undertaker 3 times at WM.

I would be all for a Jericho/Undertaker match, but something tells me that Hunter would not let Jericho even think of having a chance at winning that match after he and Shawn Michaels both failed twice. So it wouldn't be nearly as compelling knowing that Jericho will surely lose. The match would definitely be better than HHH/Taker though.

Oh well. Punk/Jericho will be a show stealer.

Punk vs Jericho. We've already seen Triple H with Punk anyway. Punk vs Jericho at Wrestlemania, will be one of the best matches ever, I'll tell you that. Maybe after Wrestlemania, have Punk feud with Hunter. Not now, best in the world against one of the best ever.

So we all know that it is likely going to be either Punk or Jericho walking out of Chamber with the title. I think it may be Jericho since it would be easier to work him into the match at Mania. With the way Chamber is set up, really anybody could walk out with the title and it could work. I feel like a Championship match sort of guarantees a Punk win at least for the hardcore fans.

So what do you think are the Chances of one of the other guys taking the title to mania and having Punk Vs Jericho a Marquee non title match much like Rock vs Cena and Taker vs HHH and do you think it would be a good idea or not?
