Change The Name----"WWE Extreme"

I'm not attacking the new "ECW" show. It could be alright for a 3rd WWE brand, BUT, I would rather see them recognize it as such, already, and quit the farce. Yes, I think it blows right now. MAYBE it can improve. BUT, it will not ever be ECW with McMahon running it. I mean that's comparable to if the leader of the KKK attempting to bring back the original Black Panthers (total opposites). There wouldn't be people saying "this isn't the old group, but something different. Give it a chance." Their goals are on opposite ends of the spectrum.

McMahon has always been about ignoring the hardcore fans voices, doing everything to gain more casual fans/marks, shoving his own ideas down people's throats instead of just listening, playing politics, and general all around bullshit. ECW was always about the opposite, the fans.

Some of you say "this isn't trying to be the old ECW, it's something new". Problem with that is that there was nothing wrong with the original and it didn't need to be changed that drastically into a WWE brand. It was never meant for those people and 5 year olds who are being booked for, in the first place. If you're gonna have a different type of show, call it a different name like "WWE Extreme" and quit using the ECW name to ****e out a 2nd rate "Extreme Smackdown" product.



How can any ECW fans that were there for the old ECW support this jackass in what he's doing? The real wrestling fans----HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT YOU. VKM laughs at you, and this product was intended for you. I'm seriously surprised a lot more people aren't boycotting this shit. Chanting "Change the channel" isn't helping if you're going to keep buying tickets and giving ratings numbers, and PPV buy rates.

To be honest with you, WWE owns ECW, so they have the right to use the ECW name, if not, then they would of probably done something else, to try and copy the ECW product.

^^Good question and a good point. ECW isn't even really making much money, WWE is raking it all in. This is happening because Vince Mcmahon doesn't want Paulie to get enough money to be able to fly solo again and compete with WWE. If ECW ever did get back on its feet we'd be in for another huge Promotion feud. Another thing that really pisses me off is that Vince Mcmahon is holding the ECW Wrestlers back so they don't look better than WWE superstars, because we all know The Sandman and Tommy Dreamer aren't gunna lose to Mike Knox and Testicles lol. And Paul Heyman would never feud with someone like Dreamer hes like on of the founding fathers of EC f'n W.

Anything is possible. It could be done the same way Tazz did it when he was wrestling in ECW and put "FTW" over the ECW Television Championship logo and called it the "FTW" World Championship. Or even when Sabu wrote his name on a piece of tape and placed it over Tazz's name on the "FTW" belt when Sabu defeated Tazz for the belt. Meaning anything is possible and it could be done, but would be a bad idea if it was "WWE Extreme".

Still Wrestling promotions usually consist of letter's for what the promotion stands for, not a word coz in my view WWE Extreme would just look wierd with the word EXTREME written all over it, yes ECW is about extreme championship wrestling but that would be like putting WWE down as WWEntertainment. Plus WWE Extreme sounds more fitting for a shoddy second rate PPV or some kind of promotional crap they like to pull of to advertise stuff. My examples with promotions... WWE, WWF, CZW, ECW, ECCW, WCW, MMA, TNA,RoH, UPW, WWWF,AWA.

Well, I just used that as a name for the Television show. The Smackdown belt isn't called the Smackdown world title, either. It's the old WCW belt and says just "World Champion". AND, once again, yes he has the right to call it whatever, since he owns the name, but my point is that ECW fans have the equal right to be upset/outraged by it and voice their disapproval. ECW wasn't just letters or an organization that could be changed around so easily. Why do real old-school fans still support this crap?

I dont think the real die hard fans do support it a whole lot to tell you the truth, Seems to me like they are dead against it, I am dead against it but the problem i think many encounter is this.

Ecw has been gone for 5 years right so when it was announced it was coming bak on rightlyy people were ecstatic to hear, The die hards had a reason to be happy everything was ok, Fast forward to now and we have wwecw, And the die hards are outraged myself included and i know the only reason i watch that show (D/L from the net till it comes on Fox 8 in September) IS because i miss Balls and sabu and Doring Roadkill al snow dreamer sandman etc etc even if they are being misused these guys were many peoples fav wrestlers in the glory days and will follow them regardless of how they are used.

Thats why I anyways as a hardcore fan of ecw still follow it just to see some of my fav wrestlers go around, Otherwise wwecw would never be on my screen.

still remember though, if you noticed in the past couple of weeks ecw has been getting better by a bit. there was a post on impactwrestling.com that stated that heyman is getting some more creative power over ecw. right now i think mcmahon's just trying to let the network get used to ecw and expose more of it's true self bit by bit. if you're still pissed, check the message that heyman sent about the new ecw. it's probably in the archives of any wrestling insider website.

Yeah i heard that too and in some ways it is good news, But until i see the show with NO Dqs at all, No jobbing out alumni to teh new breed and an ECW wrestler as champion i wont be to thrilled with it, Im glad we didnt have to see another wwe Vs wwe match for the title this week thou

Ecw definetly shouldn't be ****ed out anymore, When ECW was first announced coming back so many like me were excited, after the ONS PPV's expecting an ECW of old, only with life (financial) support. Unfortunately, house shows aside, we did recieve WWE Extreme instead of ECW. But I do think ECW fans of Old and New should be thankful to atleast have a piece of ECW back. Like Grungy72 said, Atleast we get to see some of the wrestlers we've missed. Atleast we get more wrestling during the week

Heyman might get SOME more creative control, but not full. I'd rather just watch old tapes, and support Ring of Honor or indies. And you DO support this WWECW crap, if you watch it, and pay for tickets and PPVS. That's his bottom line: cash. McMahon could give two rats asses about "internet fans" chanting shit or petitioning or whatever. He's using "ECW" to gain more fairweather (WCW type) fans. I refuse to help him.

Yes, but even the wrestlers are getting fed up with a lot of this new crap. I support them, but not what they're being put into. It's an insult. I'd support them more if they were jobbing on Raw than on "ECW". It's sickening.

Even when ECW got on TNN and were still owned by Heyman, I think the promotion suffered, but I would remain loyal, because it was still owned by Paul E. Now, it's owned by the most un-ECW guy on the planet.
