Cena vs Orton vs CM Punk?

I've been thinking of this scenario for quite awhile to happen at Wrestlemania, with that being the official unification match.

What if, as a lot of people speculate, Cena grabs the WWE championship, and Randy Orton grabs the World Heavyweight championship at TLC, leading to no clear champion (even though they are saying there will be only one champion, I still doubt it at the moment). This leads to a rematch at the Royal Rumble with maybe Randy Orton winning the titles or maybe still vacant (if it stays vacant I couldn't think of a logical Elimination Chamber solution) so lets say Orton wins the title at the Rumble under some shady circumstances. So now we have Randy Orton as the champion.

Later in the night, have CM Punk win the Royal Rumble and technically it is Orton v Punk at Wrestlemania, however, Vince McMahon (who will have probably sided with Cena by this time) will say that Cena deserves a rematch, and either make triple threat for the title there and then, or have Cena v Punk at Elimination Chamber for the number one contenders (ending with them being attacked and resulting in a triple threat) and Randy Orton successfully defending in the Elimination Chamber.

So then you have probably the three biggest full time names currently in the WWE in a triple threat match at Wrestlemania, any opinions? (I know it's not a perfect booking scenario so any suggestions of how it could be made better would be useful too)

I was thinking that if Wrestlemania was to revisit the mediocre multi-man main event of 2000 or the better tournament format of IV, Wrestlemania XXX seems to be the place to do it with the unification angle.

Although, three guys just feels like a weird number. My suggestion would be WWE Champion vs. World Heavyweight Champion vs. Royal Rumble winner vs. Elimination Chamber winner. Obviously, three of the men in the match would be Cena, Orton and Punk. It's just a question of who the fourth man is. Bryan would be the obvious choice. You could also have a part-time star, like the Rock, who is still owed a WWE title rematch, or Jericho, who can drift in and out of the title picture with ease, though neither of them would have a chance of winning. Or you could even try and throw in a new star, like Roman Reigns, to be a dark horse.

While I'm not a fan of multi-man matches at Wrestlemania, I do think that now would probably be the most appropriate time to have one. A full-on World Title unification seems bigger than just two men, especially since Punk is bigger than Orton, and Bryan isn't far off it.

I with the topic poster's idea only because it would get Punk in the main event. It's all Punk wanted and that is WWE logic.

I agree with top poster. As of right now I do see a triple threat match unfortunately I do not see a fatal four way with bryan. I feel as if they might be trying to ruin him by turning him into a monster or held with Wyatt's which wood be worst thing with his career. There is a slight chance bryan could still be in championship mAtch though... Cutting a promo after tlc talking about winning the royal rumble and becoming once again wwe champion. Let's all hope Vince goes with this path though

I like the idea and there is a possibility it will happen. Cena/Punk one-on-one is an option; as is Orton/Punk and Cena/Orton (never actually happened at WM). Between the three of them we could have any combination of singles match and it would be fantastic. Moreover, it would free the third person to do something else, for example, Cena/Taker.

In theory a triple threat would be fantastic. Indeed, the three top guys fighting for the chance to become Unified World Champion sounds fantastic. Ten years ago we had a phenomenal triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship and this could be of a similar high standard. Yes, we won't have the same quality as superstar or the great moment that ended but it would be fantastic nonetheless.

The only other thing that comes to mind is the situation with both Daniel Bryan and Sheamus. Bryan is, as we know, popular and this entire storyline deserves a logical ending. Having him in a multi-man match makes sense because he doesn't even need to win the title. Sheamus is someone who is constantly overlooked and when he returns (heel or face) he can be used at the very top.

I would absolutely be in favour of a Cena/Orton/Punk match. I'd also support adding Bryan for a fatal-4-way match. If they wanted to use Cena elsewhere then Punk vs Bryan vs Orton is a match that would still be worthy of Unified World Championship. It doesn't just need to be a regular singles match, there are about 5 guys (6 if including Lesnar) that can be used in a multi-man match just to ensure something different.

IF titles are not unified, I for one would like to see WrestleMania end with Daniel Bryan and CM Punk winning both the belts much like how Chris Benoit & Eddie Guerrero moment at WrestleMania back then.

IF titles are unified, then it has to be either Daniel Bryan or CM Punk winning at WrestleMania. It may be a single's match with either of the two winning at Rumble and fighting out against Authority's top guy (mostly Randy Orton). In this scenario, John Cena would have to be booked in a solid match probably against Undertaker.

At the same time, there is a possibility of triple threat as well but it could be with either two guys finishing as winners at Rumble OR someone who wins at Elimination chamber & face the Champion along with Royal rumble winner. Personally I do not like the idea of Elimination Chamber taking the main-event place at WrestleMania.

Seriously hoping there is no HHH presents "I screw Cena" at TLC & then John Cena wins Rumble. This will be really terrible to watch.

Triple threat at wrestlemania could very well happen when you bring up the royal rumble scenario. Unless Austin returns (no chance in hell) for that one match with punk, punk aint doing much at wrestlemania. I still believe the unification will be done officially at Wrestlemania, not at the royal rumble.

However this fatal four way idea mentioned by some posters is getting out of hands. Unless Bryan wins the rumble, Bryan is not going to get involved in the title picture. I think hes days of contending for the titles are gone for awhile. Right now he is an uppermidcard enhancement talent. Bryan vs HHH is a big possibility considering HHH doesnt have any top guys to pair with at this point. But we all know the outcome to that match. HBK vs Bryan, man dont even think about it. Its not gonna happen.

You could do that, in fact, it was one of my main idea's to begin with. John Cena walks in presumably as Champion. You have CM Punk win the Royal Rumble (would make perfect sense) and have Randy Orton get some sort of rematch AFTER all of this unification stuff passes. You have the unified Champion (Cena) go into Mania. #

I would say while it would not generate massive PPV buys, you could still go with 'Taker vs Lesnar and possibly Triple H vs Daniel Bryan and with these two other main events, it would sell very well. That being said, I would rather have the star power involved so maybe go with Cena and Hogan vs HHH and Orton or something.

I guess it's likely Orton will be shoehorned in and we'll get a multi-man title match, but I prefer a big one on one match at Mania and at this juncture I'm hoping for Cena vs Punk.

I actually have this horrible feeling that it will be Cena vs Triple H for the WWE title with the the stip being that if Cena wins then The Authority are forced to relinquish control of Raw and SD as opposed to it being a Vince vs Triple H power struggle deal. I could see Hogan being in Cena's corner to counteract Vince in Trips and the event will end with Cena and Hogan posing.
