I'd go in & spend a little time playing with the display phones so you can kinda get a feel for what you're getting, also you probably want to avoid anything made by Samsung since they tend to have a nasty habit of locking up & shit.
Can't go wrong with an iPhone 4S.
Who knows when it is getting released? Also my phone doesn't work so I need a new one ASAP.

I have literally heard NOTHING about Samsung having bad phones. The Galaxy S3 is awesome from everything I have seen.
I would suggest going to your sprint store and seeing what each smartphones cost. Then base your decision on a combination of cost and quality. Of course this will mean iPhone is not desirable, as they are not worth half what they charge.
My phone is an HTC, and it is amazing. I'd go with HTC if I were you.

The iPhone 4S, for my money, is still the best handset available. The iPhone 5 will obviously take that spot, but it's launch date is a bit of a mystery. I'd wait for it, if your Blackberry isn't dying.
Before the end of October, possibly before the end of September.
Buy a cheap one until then. I'm not saying you should buy the iPhone 5, what I'm saying is that most indicators are it will be a significant step up, and I'd want to wait until I had all the possibilities in front of me before buying. In fact, that's exactly what I'm doing. I love a couple Samsung phones, but I'm waiting until I see what happens with the iPhone 5.
there's no such thing as a cheap phone anymore. I need it for so much. I heard the Iphone 5 will be getting released at the end of September. But idk. Sprint doesn't have the best network in my area so the iphone sucks through it...
I wish I could. but it's falling apart. Not holding a charge. Speakers all messed up. It's bad man... lol

I hear that, but nothing has been confirmed. You would guess Fall 2012 is absolutely when it's going to happen.... but nothing is official.

I speak from personal experience when I say every Samsung phone I have ever used has had issues with locking up, among other issues such as bad batteries, the charger port not working, Samsung is also the only kind of phone I have ever had that did not last throughout the 2 yr. contract. Even the people at Verizon said they had issues with all the Samsung display phones locking up. Samsung is shit as far as I'm concerned.
Sure there is...just not a cheap smartphone. You can find cheap phones though.
Why don't you consider switching to another company? What do you use your phone for? Do you actually use the features or is it a status symbol? I know plenty of people who waste their money on the most expensive phone and don't use it for anything besides the basics. They just want to look cool with the hot new phone. Pet peeve of mine.
