Another take of Stephen King's book, I am sure most of you heard of or saw the 1976 version. This one casts Chloe Moretz as Carrie. Thoughts? Some complaints already by fans, not because they hate her but because some think she is too young and too pretty to play the role.

That's exactly the problem. Carrie is about an awkward girl ostracized because she's not conventionally pretty. Chloe Moretz might be the worst choice they could make. If they were going to remake it they should have done it a few years ago with Dakota Fanning.

I don't know who that is but if she's an actress, give her a chance. Look at Charlize Theron in Monster. They can do things to ugly and awkward her up. I'd be more concerned with what they do to the story that anything else. Will they try to stay PG? Will do a complete rewrite? Will they change the prom scene? Will it build off of the ending? Will the low interest have an awesome super-man-perm?

I don't think losing the nude scene in the shower with the tampons ruins the movie but I see your point. To me this movie is between a rock and a hard place. Some of the original scenes are iconic. The mom's performance, the tampons and the prom obviously come to mind. To duplicate it is going to be really difficult. I don't think they can do it which will turn the 30-plus crowd off. These scenes should also guarantee an R rating which keeps kids out. I think the producers will green light a PG or PG-13 movie with a much different script. I am not too excited about this remake, the original holds up over time and I can watch that one if I want to.

They already remade Carrie. They just promoted it as a sequel. It was shite.
