Cannot sleep, because...

...I graduate from University today! YEAH!!!!!

I know many, if not all, of you won't care at all, but the nerves, the anticipation and the excitement have literally only only just hit me. At 1am in the morning. When I need to sleep. Talk about bitter-sweet.

So yeah, sorry for the outburst of emotion, but as you can imagine, I am now pretty fucking BUZZING!

Thanks guys :) I'm hoping to go on and do a Masters or a teaching degree next, so my learning isn't quite done (as a wise man once said, you never stop learning) but this is one chapter of my life that, today, will be finished :) thanks for all your best wishes again, it does mean a lot!

Congrats, man. I'm your age and I had to wait two years to get to Uni after graduating from Highschool, started my studies 'bout three months ago and I can only imagine the excitement you're feeling to be done with this ... for now. I wanted to study Drama/Acting but couldn't because, to me, the only decent theatre degrees are in the US, Canada, Australia and England. Unfortunately they're a "bit" too expensive for a Bulgarian kid so I was forced to study something else. It's fine, it's still interesting, plus Dutch people are cool (and high 24/7) but it's a shame that the only good movies in Europe are porn.

Have a blast I'm sure you earned it. Ain't it weird how, in a way, this is only the beginning? Life ain't short, it's fucking long.

Thanks man, appreciate it :) What are you studying? And yeah, the only reason I could do this course financially is because of student loans.

As far as the excitement, the day itself was nothing special, but it just felt...right. I can't describe it. The ceremony was amazing (partially because it was led by a giant gold staff wielding Dumbledore-esque man) and it was very special to be around so many of the amazing and inspirational people that I call my friends, all together at the university for one last time.

And as far as this being the beginning...tell me about it! I still am not sure about the beginning of what, but its whatever I make of it I suppose. But I disagree; life is short at this point. Once you've sorted your career, then it slows down, but all the build up, such as Uni, flies by without a care in the world. Hey, like the saying says, time flies when you're having fun.

To anyone who's read this thread and is under 18 and/or isn't totally sure about what they wanna do in life...if you have something that you like doing or find interesting and can find a course in it, I cannot reccommend University enough. It is expensive, and it does come with a shitload of stresses, but it not only gives you education, it gives you the first true tase of adult life you can get without being thrust into it unceremoniously. I've met some of the most amazing people over the last three years, and many of them aren't just friends; I consider them family. And I've learnt a lot, not just about theatre, but about myself as a person as well, and I am all the better for it. I wound't say I'm a different person; I would merely say that I've evolved.

It's not easy, and it can destroy you at times. One fo my coursemates died during my final year (thus the RIP in my sig) which is the single hardest thing I've had to go through in my life, and normally I would have assumed that I wouldn't be able to think about University without thinking about that, but I have so many good memories and so many good friends from it that it's something I can cope and deal with. Even when bad things happen, even if its just the work load, the sense of euphoria once you've overcome it is like nothing you can imagine.

Apologies for the mini-essay, but education as a whole is something I am very passionate and enthusiastic about. But if you find the right course at the right place, and go into it with the right attitude, University can easily be the best experience of your life.
