Fishy Since I was born!
After watching the TLC PPV and reading reports about low ratings for ECW, maybe it would be worth while, if it possible, to have a supershow once month.

Here is what I think

ECW is and has been used as a way to bring in new talent and mix it with established talent. I think ECW could benefit from having a second title, ie ECW TV Title.

The only way I believe it can work though is to take away ECW from the main PPV events, and allow it to have an ECW Supershow once a month. This would help increase it viewers capacity, it could be run seprately and also doesnt take matches away from the main PPV events. I mean The miz off TLC was just wrong.

So your thoughts on this, supershow or no super show?

I don't know.... once a month might be too often. The Raw supershows have a more special feel to them because they are rare, and the Smackdown ones are even rarer.... the fact that they do not happen as often are part of what makes them great.

This gets suggested a lot. With the rumors flying around right now about ECW's future, I highly doubt they will get another title now since no one knows what the fate of the brand is yet. Plus, it is only an hour show so it would take up too much time to try to promote a new title which would be even less prestigious than the ECW title that is barely above the IC and US titles.

So the ECW title would never be on PPV's? Usually the title match is the only time a member of the ECW brand is going to get on a PPV at all. Doing this would basically prevent the ECW guys from ever making it onto PPV's until they get promoted to Raw or Smackdown. Also.... ECW gets the lowest ratings, its supershows if it had any would probably still do worse than Raw on a bad week.

I really think it's a bad idea. The supershows should only be for the bigger brands and not happen very often. Doing one once a month for ECW would probably not increase the ratings much and if this was the only place the ECW title gets defended, then that makes it even worse of an idea because the ECW title matches are the only way for the members of the ECW brand to get onto a PPV unless they are VERY over like Christian.

The fact is that ECW can't get over with a PG rating. Another factor is ECW's history. ECW was known for being violent, bloody, innovative, controversial, but it also had WRESTLING. when you take out the history of what the ECW fans knew, then how do you expect to survive by sugar coating it?

I think it could but it all depends who they have on the show and they also take the show seriously like. The reason people don't watch ecw is because the wwe really doesn't take the show seriously. Even if they got John Cena Undertaker and Triple h with Shawn Micheals people wouldn't care sure the rating would go up but it would just drop to the way it was before.

While a super show would be a good idea cause you got other top wrestlers on the brand but i don't know you can crammed all that in a 1 hour show.

I don't really thing a supershow would have all that much effect on ECW's ratings. As of right now, ECW is running even with TNA Impact in the ratings and, like Impact, seems to have a devoted following as the show has generated roughly a 1.0 almost on a weekly basis for close to a year.

I think one thing that might be hurting the shows ratings is the name of the show itself. Fans of the old ECW pretty much despise the WWE's use of their beloved federation in order to create a watered down brand that's nothing like the original. As more people started to figure out that the WWE wasn't going ot revive the old ECW, ratings steadily dwindled. If I recall correctly, ECW drew a 2.5 in the ratings for the first several weeks of the show before it started to decline.

There's been talk of the WWE getting rid of the ECW brand in and of itself altogether and having it replaced with a show devoted entirely to young, developing talent. By repackaging the show, devoting it entirely to new and young talent and laying the ECW name to rest once and for all, I think there's a chance that the ratings for the show could increase.

I can't really see ECW's ratings being boosted by anything, short of a complete roster overhaul. The brand doesn't have any stars so it seems unlikely that a supershow will do anything. I don't think ECW really needs its ratings boosted; when there is Raw and Smackdown not doing very well they should be the focus. ECW is doing it's thing very well, and it has quite a regular fanbase that is on par with TNA's in terms of size. I think upsetting its current formula may lead to it becoming less of a draw than it is now. Too big a gamble for too small a payoff in my opinion.
